I was born in late May 1987, and my mother told me about the great storm of 1987. I expected to wake up crying, but she told me that I slept through it. Seeing the footage now amazes me!
Thank you, Liam for this amazing reminder video. Guys, if you think you might be affected by severe or minor storms, don't panic. It's not the end of the world. If people do lose their lives, it is good to have a tribute to remember them in a certain and specific storm.
Thanks!
Great video, Liam! I also remember Michael Fish saying a lady had phoned into the BBC about a impending storm and him telling everyone not to worry about it 😂
Fish's comment is always quoted out of context. The caller to the BBC was concerned about a hurricane reportedly being on the way to the Caribbean, where a friend of hers was about to go to for a holiday. Michael Fish allayed her fears, and was not referring to the storm that hit France and the UK, which he mentioned afterwards.
The media twisting things for greater impact, once again.
Hah! You've just made that up! Fair attempt i suppose.

I remember this so well ..was 9 yrs old at the time.
I remember this happening even though I was only 3 years old at the time. I remember my mother tucking me into bed and said there's gonna be a storm tonight. I remember sometime later I could hear the wind rustling badly and other things which scared me as I was trying to get to sleep. When I woke up in the morning my mum took me into the garage and showed me the damage the storm had done. It had blown down part of our garage wall.
I was living I Shoreham at the time, it woke us, very scared thinking the windows were coming in.
I bet it was a scary experience!
My nan and dad slept through this my nan thought it was a lorry going past lel while my grandad was outside trying to hold the fences up
All of our garden fences were blown over and one neighbors garage roof was blown off. That was quite eventful
@@nov3019892008 "neighbor" you're obviously American so stop lying.
@@jackwatson3944 I’m British and I call them my neighbours-
