IMG 1723 I have 300 hours and have played since day 1, I just bought iceborn a little while ago and haven’t ever done this. I never knew about this because the game never specified.
For people who hate loading you can go to camp and have your handler start the quest so much faster than going to Astera for the two photographers in coral highland
So, I'm pretty sure there is an easier trigger for the plunderblade. You can just spawn into expedition until there is a marker on your map in section 13 for the Lynian Researcher. If he's in the Odogaron den, you can interact with him for some dialogue about how he is tracking down the hungry Grimalkyne in the area and offers for you to wait with him if you have the time. If you crouch by him it should trigger the Odogaron to bring the Legiana corpse into his den and you can carry on from there. Then you can skip the first bit of waiting around for the Legiana corpse to appear back where all the Girros are.
I'm a little late to the party, but I can confirm that this works. I'd also like to add to this that each rank, Low, HIgh and Master have their own researcher in there. For example, my Master Rank expedition had a Piscine Researcher there, but my low rank had a Lynian Researcher there. Make sure to check them all to save time.

Easier plunderblade prerequisite is to look for the researcher to be in zone 13. If he’s there, the remaining events to unlock the plunderers faction will happen eventually, 100% of the time.

In the wildspire between area 4 and 6 there’s three. I think it’s area 5 look for the cats standing in front of a cave entrance you crouch through and in there should be three doodles.

Oddly enough, after waiting in Zone 6 for a while and restarting an expedition 10+ times, I just decided to head to Zone 13 (the Odogaron den). Apparently, the Legiana corpse was just... there? Same with the Grimyalken, I was able to start the chase and drop meat sequence and got the Plunderblade. Didn’t even have to stalk the Odogaron lol
I just did this today, I finished the base and iceborne with only flashfly cage(level 15) on 2:23 you don't have to go back at Astera to do the quest just go to any camp and ask The Handler.

by the way once you have the flashfly cage maxed out you can place multiple thunderbug cages...just wait for the cooldown and your palico will still be able to place another
I had trouble getting the odogaron to take the legiana corpse so I found an IGN video "How to Unlock the Plunderblade Palico Gadget" suggesting to do it in low-rank mode and once loaded into Rotten Vale immediately search for the Lynian Researcher. Once you talk to him then he will explain how he is waiting to see the corpse be delivered. Then follow the odogaron until it finds a corpse, it should take it right away now. It took me forever to figure this out, hope this helps others.
Votten vale, you don't have to check for the corpse just check your map to see if the researcher is in area 13 if he is the event will accure ty for your help dude

I deleted save files to have space for cod and it left me far behind so all that hard work i had done i have to redo, i need the buffs and this will do thanks so much

still do in Iceborne patch, i have 1 palico gadget before, and just do as the video say but if you in Iceborne you need to change to High Range Investigation to make this work

I didnt have to follow a monster around in the rotten vale, I just went straight to where the corpse is left, picked up raw meat from the corpse which made the cat appear. Then I followed the fire flies

Nightmare Blade bc you shouldnt be getting hit enough to need the station and the buffs are better in every single way 4 buffs at a time is insane and way better than some healing
Nightmare Blade but for uses use the plunderblade to farm materials and use the buffs 1 the rest of the time unless youre duoing the game then 1 person shoukd have the heal but i prefer the cocktail you can also use the trap 1 to help you catch monsters when its max lvl but its kinda unnecessary the buff 1 is def the best unless you need to farm pots or if youre bad and need tons of heals but tbh 10 potions and mega potions shoukd be more than enough healung for any fight in the game
zieg feld I kinda dont see it that way. Just saying you should "get gud" doesnt help anyone. Everyone makes mistakes, and having your palico heal you in the middle of a fight is probably the most useful thing you could have. I mean, health is a universal resource, everyone needs it, and once you run out you're done for. So in every situation, wouldnt having the option of healing be more useful than a couple random buffs? I mean my kit is pretty much all about defense, I use the gunlance and have various skills like level 3 DB, but this means that Im going to be taking damage regardless of what I do, since blocking doesnt nullify all damage, on top of unblockable attacks in the later stages. But after a while all of this adds up and it can get pretty ridiculous how hard soloing elder dragons can get due to their bullshit attacks and speed. (Trying to heal up, while nergigant teleports all the way across the map and smacks you, or vaal hazak sucks your life force despite being behind cover.) So in this situation, i'd be able to last longer in a fight simply because I always have a means of healing myself, in battle ot not. Just my opinion though.

Nightmare Blade learn when you need to heal and when you have time to heal in a fight use your mantles effectively once you get used to not havng the heal and start using the buffs you will never go back

The Flashfly Cage eventually evolves into a free shock trap, which is useful on Capture missions/investigations. I use it a lot.

Datto you should try to use the coral orchestra, health pods are good, but a steady steam of buffs is a different level.
As a note, for coral highlands, you dont need to leave. Just talk to the quest giver.

If you have camp 15 in the wildspire wastes you can find the protectors by leaving the camp and sticking to the left through the crawl space.

As a solo player, that *Vigorwasp Station* seems just too valuable to swap out.

3 years later, you'll eventually be strong enough to survive without the vigor wasp station, the buffs you get are worth it
Vigor Wasp station forever! Unless you have a friend then you run 1 vigor wasp and 1 orchestra for buffs. Soo good.
