    Nice! I love homes from this era. My preference would be to lower the level of the background music or completely eliminate it. For me, it's distracting.

    I know this is an old video and you've done lots of work to the house already, but even in this state the house has amazing dimensions, proportions, light and atmosphere. Some houses just feel right in those aspects, this is one of them.

    Watching this video in 2024, having watched most of your videos of the last 6 - 9 months-ish where I have come to think that you may have reached the beginning of the run to the finish line and I have selfishly been wondering what will you do once you have finished your awesome house?
    This video not only shows how very far you have come and how some of your original ideas had to change and or evolve as you got to know the house better. But I have to say that my heart did skip a little beat when you showed the back deck and the yards. Which I had not previously seen and so I got excited to see that there is potential for HEAPS of great projects and videos still to come!! I know that is very selfish of me but I love you and your parents and your videos! I don’t want them to ever stop! ❤ to you and your parents

      Haha thanks Natalie! Yes there is much to do outside with restoring and reworking the existing ponds and landscaping. Plus, we are planning to demo the old shed and build a new shed and greenhouse maybe! Much to come ❤️

    Beautiful house. It seems older than 1930. The Great Depression was happening in the 30s and there wasn't much building going on then. The millwork is more 1830 than 1930! The fireplaces and tile look late 19th/early 20th century. Anyway, I am enjoying your channel and your creativity.

    • @REISSUED
      @REISSUED  Рік тому +2

      Yes the listing said 1930 when I purchased it, but I also suspect it is older. I’d love to do some research on the history when I have the time!

      @@REISSUED I have some discrepancies with the dates of my house, too. The listing said 1908, but the earliest record I could find was 1912. So who knows?

      Yes! I came here to pose the same supposition. The woodwork (inside and out) feel much more 19th c. to me as well. Lovely structure and great spaces to be a home for your various projects. A lot of work, but I know it will be worth it.

    I'm usually more of a modern everything fan, but I adore this house. Great buy. But one thing is I am doubting the previous color scheme on the outside of the house was historically accurate. The colors look more like a hippie holdover from the Sixties or Seventies. It was cute but I doubt it was the original color scheme from when the house was built.

    • @REISSUED
      @REISSUED  Рік тому

      Yes I have many questions about the origins of the exterior. The porch does not appear to be original to the house based on the way it was constructed. And I suspect that the frilly ornate elements were added with the porch since the old columns (that were there prior to the flipper I purchased the home from) had that same frilly look. The wild colors are a holdover from that same look… so I’m definitely scaling back and streamlining the exterior a lot! Be sure to check out the porch makeover videos for a look at my plans. 🙌🏻

I'd be tempted to use the front room for entertaining. I'm behind on the project, so maybe all of your original plans changed many times. I know mine always do 🙂

      Hey Jennifer! I know how the trim stripping goes 😭 I did it for my kitchen and am doing a lot of my doors. What method are you using? I have had the most success with a heat gun but everyone keeps telling me I should use a stripper… but that never seems to work! Let me know if you’re having any luck with that

    Hi Andrew. I subscribed to your channel about a couple of months ago. The first one was up cycling the pictures from a thrift store. I was blown. Away. Gorgeous 💚💜💙.
    Not had much time to watch anything else since then… but you pop up on my ‘to watch’ videos, so today I watched your latest one on your thrifted haul, then I scrolled through your vids and found the kitchen reveal (Love it btw!) I then continued and found this one on your (first?) house purchase. Such a proud moment but just look at you, holding it together! Dang! 😂
    So now I think I know where you are at. I sort of rolled my eyes at the clothes thrifting and up cycles but love things up cycled for your home.
    After looking at your art work video again I’m going to look at the kitchen bits you made and added.
    You mentioned you are in the process of renovating your bedroom so I’m looking forward to that too 😊
    It’s Sunday morning here in New Zealand, hubby and teen still in bed so taking time to watch your vids, cuddle the cat (SiSi - Spanish for YesYes) and have a cup of tea. Thanks for doing what you do.. I can see I will be going on an inspirational journey with you ❤. Remember, it’s about quality videos over just trying to put it ‘out there’, so plan ahead, get organised, and enjoy.
