Apples are the quintessential fruit because it's cheap, keeps well, and is accessible pretty much year round. Where I live apples and bananas are the cheapest fruit that you can get regardless of what's in season. The rest is hit and miss and can be quite expensive. If you are trying to keep your kids healthy on a budget, sticking an apple in their lunch is a way to go.
Apples are accessible year round because of modern farming, but before they were only harvested in the fall. It’s not that fruit is bad, but historically we don’t eat it year around or in abundance because they weren’t easy to obtain. So now that we have these high sugar fruits available year round, we graze on them like animals and it can become unhealthy very fast because of the sugar. (Not to mention, we’ve selectively bred and changed these fruits to contain higher fructose content so that they are more sellable. In the wild you’d be hard pressed to find berries that aren’t very tart or sour.)
Fun fact, the Bible never actually says the fruit is an apple. That's what people added later. I believe the Romans started the whole apple thing because of a mistranslation or something. The forbidden fruit was always unspecified in Genesis. But many people believe the fruit may have been a fig because there is a direct reference to fig leaves later in the story. 🙂 So, apples were innocent all along lol

It was indeed enjoyable! I'm eating frozen blueberries every day with my oats so this video gave me a very good feeling. Plus I don't really enjoy apples/bananas. No need to be so critical with yourself. Loads of positive energy from northern Germany where strawberries only taste great from mid-May to mid-July. But heck, I'm looking forward to that season!
I heard avocados actually have a higher potassium and fiber content than bananas! Would it be possible to ask for a part 2 that also includes grades for sugar content? I loved this video Including your attempts at camera tricks :)
While I love the taste of apples, it boggles mind how many varieties there are. Some are fairly priced for the flavor you get, but then you get your apples that are a little too pricey considering the lackluster flavor and lack of crispness provided. It's funny how certain apple types are trademarked. I'll buy them occasionally during fall, just the same though, hoping I picked a good apple out of the bunch.
Kiana, I am new to your channel. I would like to suggest you do a video that shows a typical day of what foods you eat and how much of them. What type of proteins do you eat? What type of good fats do you eat? What type of complex carbohydrates do you eat? What vegetables do you eat? What dairy products do you consume, if any? Do you do non-fat dairy? Low-fat dairy? Or full-fat dairy? How many meals in a day do you eat? Do you have snacks between your main meals and if so, what do you snack on? Do you go to a gym (pre-COVID) or do you exercise at home? If you exercise at home, what exercises do you do? What is your opinion on stevia to sweeten coffee and tea? For that matter, what is your opinion on coffee and black tea? I've read that they can make a person more hungry and I've also read they can help with hunger and lower blood sugar. I'm not sure what to believe. Anyway...although all the science and psychology you give in your videos are very helpful and I'm so very appreciative of them along with your book recommendations, I'd also like to see more personal information about what you are doing as far as your own diet and exercise.
Straight up on an average day I eat: half a banana, 2 kiwis, 1 apple, 1 pear, and about 200g of blueberries/mixed berries. I eat more vegetables than fruit, but I love my fruit!
The perk to apples is that they're cheap and pretty much universally available... other than that I find them to be pretty boring... but I can get like 6 apples for the price of one tub of blueberries.
I'm curious what impact eating local, seasonal, ripe fruit and veg has on the nutrient content. I assume the values used here are more of an average nutritional value.
Hey Kiana, if you want an idea for a video: I'd like to see you talk about PCOS, how it works in the body and what foods to eat to help. Thanks for your videos, they are helping me not give up my current healthy lifestyle.
Really love the light hearted way you recorded this video, would actually go as far as to say that this was one of your most entertaining videos so far.
Please do more of these with other fruits and maybe a couple of vegetables. I am always trying to figure out which fruits and vegetables I should prioritize in my diet!

Everyone said they're first so I guess I'm third xD
"am I supposed to make eye contact?" hahahahaah your ads are the best. Just so you know, I was unconsciously expecting eye contact and I laughed so hard when you said that 🤣🤣
I used to work at a grocery store and thought it would be a cheap healthy meal to eat a sixth of a watermelon that they were selling as my dinner on my break. I got the worst stomach ache I have ever had from that.
Do you think it was the watermelon itself or the freshness/cleanliness of when/how it was cut?
I just have to ask cause watermelon is one of my favorites and if I had a stomach ache from watermelon I would be unhappy lol
@@RMBII91 it could’ve been anything. I didn’t eat anything else that day. And it was a lot of watermelon. I don’t eat it often.
I just want you to know what a difference you have made for me in my journey to lose my quarantine weight, keep making videos!
A fruit tier list??? I love the creativity
My main problem with kiwi is the acidity. I love kiwi so much. But when I eat too much, I get sores in my mouth like acid burns or something. Not fun.
Same here, even eating just one will make this happen to me :( I love the flavour though.
Love all your videos & especially your 1000 lb Sisters vids❤️
I loved this video! I like learning about fruits
Your hair looks so nice!
Let's name all the fruits and vegetables!
America: Juice and CHIPS!
world: jesus, kid...
Straight up on an average day I eat: half a banana, 2 kiwis, 1 apple, 1 pear, and about 200g of blueberries/mixed berries. I eat more vegetables than fruit, but I love my fruit!
"Am I supposed to make eye contact?" omg that was adorable and super relatable xD
No views, no likes, and no comments. My Notifications really meant id be getting here EARLY early.
This has become one of my best vids from you hahaha, love the more casual tone to it
I LOVED you in this video and i loved the video
Hey Kiana, if you want an idea for a video: I'd like to see you talk about PCOS, how it works in the body and what foods to eat to help.
I was recently diagnosed and I have been trying to find down-to-earth information but am getting the sterile "take medications, eat no carbs" route.
Thanks for your videos, they are helping me not give up my current healthy lifestyle.
So glad you covered this
it didn't work out as planned / i didn't go as in depth as i should have, lol but hopefully it's okay. this video had a lot of issues LOL
@@KianaDocherty no this video was great! Maybe you can do a part 2!! :)
Really love the light hearted way you recorded this video, would actually go as far as to say that this was one of your most entertaining videos so far.
This is the first time I've been this early! Yay!
I love you being honest and sincere about your filmmaking skills omg 😀 it makes me smile. and they are really cool shots though
Kiana, the masses (politely) demand a part two 🤬🥰
This was great, love seeing your personality come through!

I don’t care how red her cheeks are I’m always gonna be jealous of how pretty she is
Please do more of these with other fruits and maybe a couple of vegetables. I am always trying to figure out which fruits and vegetables I should prioritize in my diet!
I eat a whole watermelon as one serving. The big ones.
omg i could neverrr
I usually split one in half and eat it with a spoon.
@@TheIBeanz man of culture
Based
its almost impossible for me NOT to eat an entire one in one sitting. so i get it.
One of my favorite UA-camr.
Your videos are well prepared and always interesting to see
I really appreciate the video, i wish you reviewed more fruits like mangos, coconuts, and dragonfruit. But still very entertaining :)
Great video! More tier lists please
Dont be so hard on yourself!🖤
I need part 2!! 💓💓
Vegetable tier list next
Apples are high in malic acid though! They help neutralize uric acid which can help reduce inflammation that causes things like gout. I agree though, apples are pretty blah when you can opt for something like kiwis, stone fruit, or berries.
