Great informative video Chris - I single handedly shut down a McDonalds Restaurant in Hollister, California in the morning of July, 1979. I was working for a company that serviced McDonald's and this was my first time service call by myself. There was an exhaust fan on the roof that was not working. I climbed on the roof during the breakfast rush hour and I didn't know what I was doing because of no electrical experience. I attempted to trouble shoot the fan and I shorted out the fan circuit and it shut down the whole restaurant. No cell phones so I had climb down and frantically ask the manager can I use your phone to call my boss. He told me what to do and I got the restaurant back in business. Man it was embarrassing to say the least! I nearly had an official - MaC-heart-attack!
When my kids where little I would ask who wants McDonald’s? And we’d go by this one and I would say aww it’s closed, I don’t think they ever knew it was fake😂
Just tell the security guy that you shoot b-roll footage for The Tonight Show Staring Jimmy Fallon, and he'll let you go in! (It wouldn't technically be a lie...)
The movie was funded by the Food supply company for McDonald's not the actual company that's why that truck parks in back of the dance number for product placement.
Hey Chris! I was just wondering if you have plans to visit the CEC in Chicago on Kedzie Ave? They have the only other Studio C Beta on an Original 3-Stage.
Hey Chris did you know that one of the Chuck-E-Cheese restaurants some of the Chuck-E-Cheese animatronics would stand on this rotating platform and when it was time for the mascot to come they will rotate the stage around and the mascot will be behind the animatronic behind that cardboard of the city a curtain would come down then rise up to reveal the mascot as if he came off the stage

Lol Oh man, That would have been a really awkward situation, you don't want to stand in the way of people and their McNuggets. Lol. Great story Frank!
Dang I didn’t know they built a completely fake McDonalds just for filming! I though everything was filmed on a real location.

Very creative intro Chris!!! I haven’t seen half of those movies but they really gave me 80’s vibes
I remember seeing this McDonalds in quite a few ads! I didn’t know it was straight up fake. Really cool stuff.
I'd like to check that fake McDonald's out sometime.
Also I assume the international ads are probably filmed at actual Maccas then?
Neat info! This particular McDonald's is only meant to film movies shows and commercials in front of... never knew anything like this... interesting 😮
5:09 YES I WAS WAITING FOR THISSSS!
Never knew this fake McDonald’s is in the same city as puente hills mall which was used as twin pines mall in back to the future!
You need to check out some Indiana Chuck E. Cheese’s. The Muncie one is my local location

Dude, the Mac and Me made me spit out my McDonald’s Coke. I forgot how funny movies were back then.

Yeah, definitely heard of some of the stages doing that. I wish they still did so I could document it but sadly none of those still exist 🙂
That was a type of 2 stage that did that!
Sounds like the RAE Mijin stage haha
