Sibyis Langdon the 10000 hour rule which i think your referring to is theoretically how long it takes to master anything completly master. Sure you can learn a song or 2 in 40-80 hours but your probably not going to be very good at it. You will need outside opinions because you always think you are better than you really are. I got a friend who thought he learned a song but he couldnt stay on beat. You can "know" the song but you havent mastered it
I would LOVE to hear 'Obstacles' in a full version, I absolutely adore this song having tears in my eyes every single time! Very nice work with so many emotions, this is what I call talent!

Mayer thank you so much for your help, I did to a guitar store and they was really helpful I have the Taylor GS mini and the sounds from it is amazing brass strings, it wasn't cheap nor was it expensive either I was learning foals Spanish Sahara and I am already getting the hang of it I just follow step by step guides and look at tabs that help me which I've learned I can read , just because I'm quite a small person and my hands are quite tiny they said that an epiphone could be to big for me and my hands but I'm happy with the Taylor guitar, listening to metal music I do all the time amongst others so no problem there, my hands fingers are getting a little sore but this doesn't bother me I am getting tutored now which is fantastic. But seriously thank you for the help and advice this really did help me. You hella wicked ^^ Keep playing awesome tunes :-)

Tristan Buckner I was afraid someone would actually ask me this question :D 'Cause I'm inclined to say that it is hard. But at the same time I don't want to discourage you. The good news is, you say you've got some percussion basis and that will definitely come in handy. You could be a guitarist and a drummer simultaneously like this guy ua-cam.com/video/eQwpdY3Fz9c/v-deo.html. Back to your question of how difficult it is to play guitar - it depends on a whole array of things. Most importantly - what's you motivation behind it. Do you want just to enjoy music? Do you want to impress girls with it? Do you want to get famous? Each section requires a different level of effort. I know John Frusciante wanted to be famous so badly he practiced until his fingertips were bleeding. And I know plenty of people who managed to learn four chords and are absolutely happy with it, 'cause they can play for friends. I haven't met any guitarist who wouldn't go through an i-don't-know-what-to-play stage or who wouldn't give up the instrument for some time. Switching from an acoustic guitar to the electric one is also a rather demotivating process (I'm going through it right now) - so if you like electric guitars, you should start to fiddle with it right now. There are so many techniques to be learned, there will always so much time being spent on a countless repetition of anything... I mean it's nothing new, you're a musician and all of what I've just said can be applied to any instrument. One thing not many people are ready for, when they start to play the guitar, is that it does hurt. Your fingertips may hurt for first six or ten months but that could be partly avoided by using nylon strings. Sorry for a little bit longer comment :D
