You're right.
Didn't paint the fence the right colour
Fence don't match house, another fine 🤣🤣
Hate hoas!
Avoid HOA’s when possible
At all costs
im so glad we dont have those where i live lol, the HOA sounds like a bunch of karens getting mad at their neighbours for dumb shit
@@oraakkeli You just created a very precise definition of exactly what it is
@@77Avadon77yup lmao, just need to add they also impose fines on top of it all.
@@100GTAGUY And not just that period but if you don't pay those fines they can put a lean on your house so they effectively can foreclose on your house for something as simple as a trash can. I've lived in a few HOA and I'm trying to move out of one now.
People reading me probably won't believe what I'm telling you. But let's say you put a flag or a sign out front that your HOA doesn't like. They might send you a letter or just issue you a fine. If you don't pay that fine because you don't want to take down what you believe should be able to be displayed on your own property, They will send more fines and if you don't pay them they will get a lean on your property. They can use that lein to try to foreclose if its bog big enough. At minimum they can make it hell to sell your property if you want to leave because you'll have to pay these outlandish fines to get your deed free and clear. It's like living in a police state run by Karen's. Don't ever ever move into an HOA. They attract the most horrible freedom hating busy bodies.
I solved this by not being in an HOA and never signing an HOA contract in my life
Thank you for the laugh Tracy.
That’s actually pretty good and useful, I’ve never seen that before thanks
I'm very glad you asked for a utility locate! Thanks for being a good example!
Doesn’t understand 3’ rule though
I can't imagine living in an area where my neighbours think they can tell me how my house needs to look.
Isn’t that everywhere including he middle of nowhere? You CAN change stuff and probably won’t be bothered by anyone but I’ve heard tons of stories of inspectors going to the middle of nowhere houses to complain about stuff

To deal with HOA if you don't think it's worth moving out of your neighborhood...
Tip #1: Have a VERY large dog.
Tip #2: put up a fence
Tip #3: electrify the fence (make sure to put up a sign for legal reasons)
Tip #4: get a powerful hose, and water your yard, conveniently when they are nearby, however, try not to spray your electric fence
Tip #5: Buy a flamethrower
Tip #6: Dig a moat
Tip #7: put sharks or alligators or piranhas in the moat
Tip #8: Land mines (Bouncing Betty's would be most effective)
Tip #9: Booby traps (want a video on traps in the Vietnam war for inspiration)
Tip #10: Claymore's
Tip #11: If all alse fails, get a restraining order, but this is if you have no other choice, however, IED's could also be a viable alternative!

I definitely want to know how the HOA reacted
Me Too! Every HOA I have had to live in doesn't allow these as the cans are still visable or doesn't fit the neighborhood and so on.
@@ourcreativebeehive mine will let me build stuff the size of a one car garage without needing a permit. I need a permit for a fence though, which is weird to me.
HOA neighbourhoods are dictatorships.
@@SageWolfStudio none of their rules actually make sense or realistic at all like who the fuck cares if your trash cans are visible?

I live in a HOA. It's hell. I don't tell them everything I do either. It's non of their business in my opinion. I own this land.
finding a house in Texas that we liked, had the space we wanted outside, and was in a nice area, was impossible without an HOA. why are they everywhere? lol now we live out in the rural area. My chickens are happy 😂
It looks great .i never seen those spikes before .I would never live in an HOA community if it's my home I should be able to do what I want with my property. And not have others tell me what I can an can not do . Lol that's why I love were I live peace and quiet
For real HOA is stupid, and if they didnt want the trash cans to be visible, why didnt they make the houses of the area have fences to cover them already?
I seen a fence repaired with one of those
I agree. Double edged sword tho cause they keep the neighborhood looking clean and consistent but that comes at a price of your sanity and free will
@@gnericnuser In my experience they don't even do that, they only seem to enforce the rules on people they don't like living there, the old people that are part of the HOA and snitch on everybody were the people with the most overgrown yards.
@@thefoxmoonlight Most of them expect you to keep your trash cans in the garage. And then every trash day, haul them out in the morning. Then as soon as you got home. Haul them back into the garage. Oh yea, you can't haul them out before 7 or 8 am depending on where you live. And they need to be back before 6 pm. Thing is, many of those folks under that rule don't get home until after 6 pm.
Never seen the ground spikes before. Very cool.
Little rain and a bit of wind and.... over they go. Depends on your ground composition.
Don’t ever use the spike, dry setting 3 foot deep minimum, 2 foot if you’re lazy.
Quite common in the uk the longer ones are best and tend to hold up for a few years
@Billy bob digging that hole looks easier than driving that spike...... no mix 50 lb bag of concrete. Pour water on it and it's solid in 24
@@dandavis5767 you guys have soft soil? Easy to drive but stays in place? We have a thousand different types of ground here depending on where you stay.

HOA’s are just the council of Karen’s in a local area that wants to know everything about everything in your neighborhood
More than that, because money is involved, its corruption.
Imagine getting paid to fine people for not following rules.
@@JordanWeber💯🙌🏾
Put a bit of landscaping in front of it. The HOA won’t even remember that it was an issue.
I'm sure they have a list of "approved plantings" too
Ground spikes are pretty good I've used them before but they can shift if you haven't bolted more than 3 together.
I like using a concrete post with a simple concrete anchor. Lasts for decades and the wood attached can be replaced as needed.
For everyone saying to just not move into an HOA lol my city cited us for having our trash cans “too visible” from the curb. It’s not just the HOAs who have ridiculous rules.
I doubt it, but what city are you in?!
I love my HOA. ❤️ It keeps the slobs in line, or they never move in and crawl back to their trailer park.
hk k The trailer park I live in now. It is better kept up compared to the hoa condominium I lived in before. And there is NO dictatorship here. Plus, there is more life here being shown than in the condominium. Plus, have you seen the cost for a trailer home lately. Easily $100K here. Though that is for a single wide. Doubles and triples cost waaay more.
HOA neighbors would complain about a noise complaint about your house getting turned inside out because it got broken in at 3am.
Update on what HOA said please 😂
Ugh there will always be that one Karen
I did something similar. It worked great for 10 years. Then the HOA said it was a structure, and structures are prohibited.
Looks great!!!
Those spikes dont work in rocky areas. They start bending and twisting with every hit.
Said it was easier than dig a hole and pouring concrete in😂
Great job!!
Yeah I worked at Lowe's for 20 years those post holders have been around longer than 20 years.
Once had two customers confused why we didn't sell 4 foot long 4X4 posts to put the mail box over. I had to tell them 2 foot of it goes into the ground for support.
I'm so glad that I live way out in the country so that I don't have to deal with an HOA.
We're buying and we purposely won't view properties with HOA. I see the value in them but I've heard a lot of horror stories when "Karen" is president. Unless she is going to pay my mortgage, I don't want them telling me what to do with my property especially if it turns out to be led by a person who just isn't nice. We decided to buy in the country where it doesn't matter what our neighbor does cuz we can't see them lol

Let’s build another fence to fence in my house from the HOA, this time featuring spikes and ditch traps.
Heads up, those utility markings are generally +/- 18 inches to each side in most places. So just because your not right on the line doesn't mean you wont hit something..
Great job 👏🏻
Never buy house
Were is home owner association.
If they aren't happy the cans are visible then just put the trash in a pile in the front instead
On paper HOAs seem like a good way to organize a community to plan fun events and community gardens and whatnot, but in practice they're a collection of the worst neighbors coming together to make everyone miserable. My grandma lives way out in the mountains in Arizona and her HOA just maintains the gate (more for keeping out cattle than people) and grades their dirt road once a year.
and this is why I would nvr live in an HOA even if house was free.
My mom told me I was dumb for saying the same thing. Free house right!? Yeah no it’s hardly your house if you aren’t allowed to have YOUR house YOU paid for be the color YOU want, it’s ridiculous

Pro tip don't drive the post dig the a hole with post hole diggers or better an auger, then put the post on the hole and as you fill the hole back in pack the dirt with a stick or 3/4" rebar no concrete required. Bones you do not need to buy or make those spikes or the flange that bolts to the spike.
Only thing is when it rains/snows melt the soil will become super soaked with water becoming weak and could affect the spikes and fence could sink or fall over.
I have a feeling that this young man dealing with the HOA will eventually lead to him going postal on them😂😂😂
Don't move into an area with an HOA. If the previous owners did not need a fence for the trash cans they are picking on you because they can.
Remember everyone, call for locates before you dig. They are free in a bunch of states (and required to legally dig) and can save your life and your home. Nothing quite says we need to move quite like a 60' gushing flame from natural gas spewing out of the side of your house, torching a decent chunk of the house.
Depending on the ground of course, you can dig a hole for two posts within 5 minutes. I guarantee it would've been much easier then pounding two wooden spikes into the ground. Not to mention it would be more stable against high winds.
Or just don't move into a neighborhood with an HOA
"Drilled these big spikes in the ground"
*hits it with a fucking mallet*
Yes, the word drill isn't used as inflexibly as you think it is.
Drill:
(1)
: to bore or drive a hole in
(2)
: to make by piercing action
drill a hole
: to propel (something, such as a ball) with force or accuracy
drilled a single to right field
(2)
: to hit with force
drilled the batter with the first pitch
Look up pneumatic drill, aka Jackhammer . It's pointed, like a stake, yet it still "drills" into the ground.
"Drive in the stake" would be a better term, but drill technically works too.
@@Okay4mee saying drilling it into the ground is not as bad as saying you did it with a mallet
