To me this looks completely professional, the attention to details is very impressive ! I'm always very impressed that you do so many things yourselves !
I am following and watching you through this new house renovation, and this is what I have to say.. you are the queen of aesthetics Emma. Have a great Sunday! 🍃🍂🤍🇬🇷
OMG, I've wanted one of these for ages but couldn't justify the expense. Thought about building one but didn't know where to start. Now I do. 😊 Thanks so much. Off to measure wheelies. 😂
You’re putting yourselves down saying it’s not a professional job, it looks fantastic!! Nothing worse than wheelie bins, ours are stored up the side of our house under some trees but get covered in leaves and sap etc so this would be great to protect and hide them. Much more aesthetically pleasing than those cheap plastic ones you see in the shops. Bravo guys 👏🏻👏🏻
What a great job Emma by you and Simon! The bin cupboard looks great and definitely matches your aesthetic. I see so many photos of lovely picturesque villages and so many of the houses have ugly plastic bins outside! Yours is so stylish! Love to you, Simon and the Bs. X
Anything to disguise those ugly bins! Yours is a great solution, top access is a necessity in my book, and yours works really well. We have a large front garden, so we decided to disguise our wheelie bins with hedge! We have a long beech hedge facing out to the road, so instead of it being totally continuous, it has an oblong section stepped back, with enough space for the bins (we're lucky that it was made big as we've now got three bins rather than two). Originally, we we're going to do a sort of fence for the gap out to the road, but once we'd planted the hedge, my husband had the genius idea of planting hedge in the gap too. So basically, it's a hedge oblong with two openings, one for us and one for the bin men (we're lucky that we dont have to put the bins out in our area, as long as certain criteria are met). From the road, it almost looks like one long continuous hedge, and while it does take up space in the front garden, it's next to our kitchen garden, so it works really well. A couple of neighbours have done something similar, taking inspiration from ours.
Fantastic solution and a great-looking end product. I was looking for a solution for my trash cans and this appears to be exactly what I want to build. Thanks for taking the time to show us what you created!
Love it! Im going to forward to hubby now 😁 Also, thanks for the tip of using a spray gun - after painting our entire house and deck I am done - especially doing between slats 😫 Thanks Emma and Simon 👍🏻
Fantastic job Emma and Simon, however my eyes were firmly fixed on the tools used, they glide with ease, I was so impressed. I'll have to look at these, I'm sure this wasn't intended, but what an unpaid advert.
Hi Emma and wishes for a happy October! It’s so great to have DIY skills- it gives one an extra sense of pride, enables bespoke designs and so much more economical! Great job by you and Simon as always.🧡🍁🎃😊
Great jobs always you two . Wish I had the energy for DIY Jobs but bought a wicker mesh frame (ready made) that covers my bins , does the job and landlord is happy
This looks great - I’ve made a similar store myself with a green rood recently, it’s a lot of work. Only concern is it looks like you used untreated wood - even with the stain this probably won’t last long before it rots and warps. You can get all of those dimensions in treated timber which will give you a lot more life from your hard work!
The metal strip at the bottom is a brilliant idea and something I think has been missing from many other designs that I’ve seen. I’d really love to give this a go but unfortunately I don’t have a Simon 🤣
A woman could totally do this on their own. I can use all the tools Simon does as you can see from the video but we just enjoy doing things together so most projects are a team effort 😊 Having said that once it was built it was a 2 person job to lift it 🙊
Noticed a local house with a very very steep driveway , they compromised and built a cabinet half way up. the sides they used open work lattice panels and no fronts , just thought it will help prevent everything running downhill in windy weather
Very well done! One bit of advice, based on my age and the poor shape of my knees, next time take some scrap wood and build sawhorses to place your chop saw on. Your back and knees will be the better for it! Thanks for sharing.
This is great @emma, a really clear and informative video thank you :-) can you tell us the rough cost of the materials please? I'd really like to make this but I'm weighing up the cost of making it vs buying one. I have 4 bins to conceal too so its twice the job for me. Thanks, Matt
Hi Emma, love this! you mentioned you wanted to invest in a paint sprayer in this video - do you have one in mind or any specific one to recommend? thank you xx
Thank you. It actually cost more than what a lot of log stores cost to buy ready made due to the rise in raw material costs. We spent £260 on the raw materials (wood) and fixings but not including the wood stain which we already had. I’m glad we did it though because we did have fun building this together and we made exactly what we wanted. I hope that helps x
I can't recall if I'm honest, maybe £80 or £90 - I thought I had put it in the description box (or maybe mentioned it in the video 🤦♀️) but obviously not. If you know the size of the store you want to build, you can check timber prices online at B&Q or Wickes and this will give you a rough idea as that is the main cost 👍
This looks better then any so called professional made one I’ve seen, makes taking out the rubbish less of a bore and a chore seeing this beauty 😂
Haha my thoughts exactly. I just wanna hang out by the bins 😆
The lid with chain is a brilliant addition
Thanks 😊
To me this looks completely professional, the attention to details is very impressive ! I'm always very impressed that you do so many things yourselves !
Only Emma could make wheelie bins look so stylish and thoughtful ❤😂
Another fantastic project! I think this is the loveliest bin storage I’ve ever seen ❤
Haha thank you, it needed to match the aesthetic 🙊

Great job! I love the way the lid access!
Thank you 😊
I would say it is professional, very nice job and the chain lifting the bin lid is genius.
No matter what you both do it’s pretty amazing
What a fab idea Emma, there not great to look at and hiding them is a great answer and so nicely as well, xx
Really like the finished item, well done guys,I will wait until the spring time to tackle something like this, thanks for the video 😊

Absolutely ingenious! Kudos to both you & Simon! I think you should market your design.
Gosh it looks so smart, and it’s incredibly functional as well! Well done, guys! 👏👏👏
Love the idea of the chain to the bin lid - smart!
Well done Emma and Simon 🎉 it looks absolutely fantastic! ❤ as all of your projects! 😘 sending love from Germany 🇩🇪
This is brilliant Emma, looks so good! 👏
Thank you x

Thanks Emma and Simon 👍🏻
Between the slats was the worst 😭😭😭 I still have some touch ups to do because they were so hard to get to 🙈
@@EmmaHill oh no!! Maybe do a final coat with spray 🧡
Holly… I am so impressed with how this turned out!
This is exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you for sharing! This is my next project!

Luckily it is in a fairly sheltered area with the bushes but yes it definitely would have been better to use treated, my error 🤦♀️
Morning guys, brilliant job as always 😊
Thank you x
Wow! Amazing! I'll get my hubby to do this together cause he's quite handy! We'll see if he bites!😅😂
😜 good luck 😘

Love it! I just sent your video to my husband.😂
I gasped when I saw the chain attaching the bin lid to the store lid 😍
Hi Emma, from the U.S! Great project!
Thanks! ❤️
That’s pretty cool! Good job guys.
Thanks 😃
What was the total cost of the wood?
Don't be modest. Not everybody could do that. You are very talented and creative people. Good job. I am always impressed by your projects.
Thank you x
That's smart and chic !!!
I love the fact it's black it gives a nice sober and classy touch 😉
Have a sunny sunday, bises
Thank you x

Oh yeh that’s a great idea. Our driveway isn’t steep at all fortunately, it’s just not totally level like everything else in this house 🥴🤣

Good advice. It's easy to kill your back without even feeling it

Impeccable! ❤

Great job..thanks for the vid
This looks so damn good! And to be honest very professional in my opinion. What did this project costs without the tools?
Thank you. It actually cost more than what a lot of log stores cost to buy ready made due to the rise in raw material costs. @@EmmaHill Thanks so much! The log stores I've seen were much more expensive! Nothing that looks good for us lower than 300€.
Can you tell how much it roughly all costs?

Fantastic 😃👏
Great 👍
How does the bin man know it stores the bin
Seriously guys you should change jobs 😂😂😂, fabulous job 🎉
👍
How much did it cost you?
Everything should be detailed in the description box 👍
❤️
Ok, that was unnecessary. Now I'm pumped to buld a tripple bin shed...
DIY it is then, you win
🤣🙌🏼 that’s what I like to hear 💪🏼
