Thanks for the tips. All the best listings on these have some deal breaking embroidery on them. Have you considered adding a color matched panel to cover it? It would be less obvious than a smaller patch and perhaps even add some visual structure to the piece. Might be tough to get a good color match though.
Yeah the problem with a path is that you will clearly see that it is a block patch because of the stitching which can make it look like a weird quilt blanket! But some patches are kind of cool! If you're really looking for one, try find a jacket with a patch that is easily removable!

Hi Peter, great vid. I have the exact same jacket with a small logo I want to remove/ cover. Did you consider using a patch to cover the logo? Or to cover the area once you removed the stitching? The logo I want to remove is much smaller and more square, so probably easier to cover. Any thoughts on sewing/ ironing a patch on the front side?
Hi, thanks! I think that if you're settled on putting another patch on, it is better to remove the current patch before applying the new one since overlaying could make it look bulky/thick in that area. Sewing it on would make it easier to remove later in you decide you didn't like it anymore.
I feel the jacket is less wearable after the removal.... Between the hole and marks on the outer fabric, the condition of the garment has been considerably affected. If you thrift clothes, accept the garment's previous lives and previous uses to live on as you wear it. Embroidery and other patches just makes the pieces more unique, more personal.
The result isn't very good at all. I understood for a while it is not a good idea to buy a clothes having an embroidery with the intent to remove it because the result is disappointing.
I have ripped so many clothes trying to get embroidery off. You did a great job with the patch too.
