I can already tell somebody will comment on this, but the older a kid is, the more times their name will be put in the reaping. Yes, I wish I put this in the video too
Also, I'm sorry, I haven't watched much TV, so I missed The Boys reference. Thanks for the correction

No, actually. When you say: "And you wonder why I don't like CinemaSins" after the "Tuck your tail, little duck" thing, I actually praise you for *_Not_* liking CinemaSins, and wish more people would follow your example.

Haven’t even watched yet but THANK YOU for doing this. Cinema sins SUCKS when he reviews a movie that’s actually decent, he acts like he has to be just as critical as he would be with a bad movie, and in doing so he ends up ignoring important plot points in order to pretend that other ones don’t make sense when they do and it ends up just being him not understanding the movie rather than critiquing the filmmaking.

Honestly, it was so refreshing to hear all these defenses of the movie. So many video essays focus on the criticism, and if the movie "holds up," but it was nice to just hear someone speak on the good details and clever worldbuilding

3:21 the fact that he said this made me realize he is missing the entire point of the books and movies. It's about how glorified violence is in tv. Suzanne Collins literally said the actual games are her least favorite parts to write. The fact he just wants to see the action shows he's just like the capitol 😭 the point of the books and films isn't to entertain you with the violence. It's to send a message

07:20 also Katniss is from the poorest District, aka NOT WELL FED, aka not as physically well as she should be at her age! And she's still holding her ground against a well-trained, healthy girl about the same age as her! Come on Jeremy!

Turning something up to 11 is a reference to a pretty famous move from the 80s called "This is Spinal Tap". In the movie there's an amp that has control knobs that go up to 11. It gets treated as special and impressive because most only go up to 10.
All of that is completely irrelevant here, though. The scoring system went to 12 so her getting an 11 wasn't a sin at all. Come on JEremy

20:06 Jeremy is actually referencing The Boys here, as Jack Quiad (the kid on screen) plays Hughie in that show.

    Missed Sin Sins:
0:39 Even if he did, why is that a Sin of the movie?
2:38 Jeremy has never heard the very commonly used phrase "Someone is shadowing you" as a way of saying you're being followed.
2:47 How does him not being allowed to bet relate to his acting?
    3:21 Jeremy ignores world building.
3:44 Something tells me you would have complained if they HADN'T showed the characters who were already eliminated and then ask what happened to them. Also, why would the movie focus/dwell on unimportant side characters who are mostly irrelevant to the main story?
5:05 She's likely imagined what happened to her father after hearing about it and is now hallucinating what she had imagined.
5:11 Jeremy doesn't understand why "mockingjays" would mock what they hear.
5:36 Even if that cream wasn't just for burns, it's HIGHLY unlikely it would heal an injury THAT extensive. Plus it took hours for Katniss' burn to heal, Rue didn't have hours, she barely had a minute.
6:42 Sinning someone for being emotionally distraught after someone they cared about died in their arms.
7:29 Katniss had a painful burn while Peeta had a life-threatening injury that was severally infected to the point where he was dying from a fever, so yes, she's going to be relieved and amazed at his recovery. She may not have even thought the cream would work at this point or in time.
7:45 First, if you read the books, you would know those aren't dogs, they're canine mutants created from the corpses of the fallen tributes. Second, even if you didn't read the books, you can clearly see that those are not "dogs", but canine-like mutants, which could range from wolves to coyote or bears or hybrid or who knows what.
7:57 Cato could have snapped Peeta's neck at any moment. Anything else Katniss used as a weapon would not have saved Peeta in time. Plus, if you look, Peeta points to Cato's hand for her to shoot there. This is a callback to him saying how good of a shot she is by always hitting squirrels in the eye.
8:12 The mutant dogs would have been called off once there was only one tribute left.
8:29 Jeremy suggests that this movie was not only bad, but so bad that he wants to forget it.
9:53 That deer would have provided a LOT more food for days than a bird, so I would hardly call this problem "solved", and yes, it IS devastating compared to what she could have had food-wise or gotten as a trade. This is basically the equivalent of getting a single piece of broccoli when you could have had an entire salad.
11:10 The pin becomes symbolic, as it comes to represent Katniss' defiance of the Capital due to her bond with Rue (via their mockingjay call) kicking things off. That's why it's special.
11:24 The shirt gives her a "ducktail", hence why Katniss calls her a little duck, and tells her to tuck it in so she won't have said tail. Also, ironic that a channel that calls itself CinemaSins Sins things that aren't Sins of movies so much.
11:45 This is to demonstrate how often the Capital pushes this propaganda on people, Gal knows it by heart.
12:29 The people in the Districts know this is BS, it's the brainwashed people in the Capital who have been told this all their lives that buy into it.
13:11 Katniss gave the pin to Prim to protect her, but now Katniss is in need of protection, so it makes sense that Prim would want her to have it if she really thinks it brings protection.
14:03 This scene is a LOT more impactful in the book. Peeta literally saved Katniss and her family's life in this scene (and was beaten as a result for it), not only by giving her the bread, but giving her the motivation to live on. In fact, the last book even suggests it's why she picked Peeta, because she views him as a symbol of life and hope as opposed to Gal who she sees as a symbol of anger and vengeance based on their natures, and she needs life and hope in her life, not anger and vengeance. This is why the books matter, movies can't always convey everything, and some of those things are important.
14:51 This is showing how she has good hand-eye coordination, an essential thing for hunters and archers, so this isn't surprising. And even if she is this good with a weapon, why would she volunteer to enter a life or death game that requires her to "delete" others to survive?
16:03 Are you not paying attention to the fashion of the people of the Capital? Just look at Effie.
17:05 This is clearly her telling them that there are other life-threatening dangers besides the other tributes.
17:43 Not get caught, and also avoiding the rain. His mom (who beat him for deliberately burning the bread so he could give it to Katniss instead of the pig like he was instructed), would likely question why he was all wet.
18:11 She probably didn't know what it was called. Heck, I don't even know what it's called. A giant weight?
18:42 Those are survival chances. With Rue being able to hide and climb the way she can, being able to avoid danger while everyone else eliminates each other likely increased her chances of survival.
19:00 It takes even the most experienced of archers time to adjust to bows that aren't their own. The book even describes this as to why she is so off the mark, as the bow she uses is very different from her homemade one, hence why she messed up the first time, she had to get a feel for the bow first. Again, this is why the books matter.
19:33 The Capital oppressing and forces submission on the Districts so they will never rise against them, that's the literal point of the Hunger Games, so they didn't think anyone would ever try this because they think the Districts are beaten into submission. Also, the angle of the camera makes it look like its lined up with the pig's mouth, but if you look closely, you can clearly see that its pinned to the wall higher.
20:27 If this was a reference to the "on a scale of 1-10, this rates 11" phrase, it was clearly stated that scores are on a 1-12 scaling for this.
21:27 Haymitch tells Katniss she has an attitude problem that makes her unlikeable to sponsors, so Peeta making her look desirable IS helpful for her.
22:10 Calling Haymitch sexist when Jeremy often Sins scenes for not having lap-dances. Also "sweetheart" is a term of endearment, even when used in a demeaning way.
22:47 Claims movie doesn't show how mentoring tributes affects Haymitch while constantly pointing out that Haymitch is an alcoholic. How do you not make the connection?
23:10 Such checks ARE made, you'd know this if you read the books. Cinna gave it to her AFTER the check.
23:27 Movies cover more than what they were named after. How much of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory actually featured Willy Wonka and actually took place in the chocolate factory?
23:48 Or to keep him anonymous by making his voice unrecognizable.
24:14 The purpose of the shaky cam affect is primarily meant to give a feelings of disorientation, confusion, and panic. So yeah, that seems like an accurate technique for a scene like this. It's also used for hiding violence, which again, for a PG-13 movie, makes sense.
24:49 First, that trap isn't meant for squirrels, but for the other tributes. Second, Katniss is a professional hunter, so I'm sure she's more skillful than the people from Naked & Afraid. Third, this is likely hours going by.
25:09 You can cook with just embers. And remember that trap she made? Again, that's for other tributes. She's ready for them to come to her now, but not later when going to sleep, hence why she shakes her head at the other tribute who makes a big fire when they don't want to draw attention, because she knows not to do that. Also, she's a hunter, she knows how to hide and move with and against the wind, we saw her doing this. What I'm saying is, there are ways for Katniss to do what she's does without drawing attention.
25:20 This is touchscreen, just with holograms.
25:58 The game makers have shown several times not to care if map obstacles take out tributes.
28:27 That was ALL the supplies, which likely included non-buried bombs. They simply went off when the other bombs blew up because they got caught in the blast, but it's unlikely they deliberately put them in there to blow up everything.
29:3 People bet on who they want to WIN. Having two winners doesn't change that if who you bet on still wins. Also, gameshows shake things up all the time with new rules.
30:03 It's called working with what you have.
30:36 Maybe they're not allowed to take anything other than they're own and there are punishments for if they do.
30:46 She's rushing instead of taking her time to properly aim.
31:01 Jeremy cuts out the part where Peeta insists on applying the healing cream to her injury right before this scene.
32:20 Or the hounds were already on standby and are now being brought up from trapdoors at these location, hence why they jump out of the ground.
33:57 No, their ship name is Everlark.

I think it’s less likely that they’re punished if they take other tributes’ items and more that Foxface doesn’t want the other tributes coming after her. Each item was something its respective tribute desperately needed. If she took someone else’s, they’d chase her down and kill her to get it back, and we’re shown throughout the movie that Foxface isn’t a fighter. She’s the one that accidentally runs into Katniss at the beginning of the games and they both just stare at each other in terror for a second before running away in opposite directions.

What would the perfect sentence for Jeremy for sinning the Hunger Games films? Here’s some options. Participating in the Hunger Games with no way out. Getting into a fight with a group of armed career tributes. Being tortured by Peace Keepers. Being hit by Katniss’s arrows missing their intended target while not being killed by them. Being trapped in the same accident as Katniss’s father. Wow, some of those got dark quickly.

Jeremy: We don’t feel bad for any of these kids cause the movie gave them little to no dialogue or screen time.
Me: First of all, not caring for kids being killed. Yeah…..Spoken like a true Peace Keeper. Second, why wouldn’t you feel bad for kids being killed? Wouldn’t that be like watching a 9/11 movie, a Holocaust movie or a movie about a school attack (among other examples) and not caring about the victims because “I didn’t get to know them.” It’d be as dumb as a UA-camr like say StarWarsOnly making a video about the prequels and not caring about the Jedi being killed in Order 66 because “he didn’t get to know them”…..Wait…..

The “You’re allowed to act” line from Jeremy’s pretty stupid if one thinks about it. To sum up, Cinna’s actor is Lenny Kravitz, a famous musician and one I’ve seen in concert, and from what I’ve seen from the Hunger Games films and Precious, he’s a good actor. So leave it to someone who can’t do a British accent to go after someone else for their acting. 😂

Jeremy’s “acting” sin against Cinna was meant to criticize Lenny Kravitz, a well known musician, for acting in the movie. First of all, sinning Lenny Kravitz for any reason whatsoever. Thats worth these many sins. *Gives out multiple sins* Wait…..Wrong channel. Second, say what you want about Kravitz, but at least he can act unlike the guy who does a worse British accent than Bert from Mary Poppins and who has fake laughs that sound like when he was with his college ex girlfriend. Finally, for going after Lenny Kravitz like you did, Jeremy is to be given the missed sentence of Lenny Kravitz when he’s angry. Check out the Funny of Die video Lenny Kravitz Is Angry. It’s hilarious. 😂
