Gotta say I love all the Brass Against singers, but Amanda's got such a set of pipes on her! This is one of my favorite covers - really solid performances by everyone, but her voice transports me every time.
The deep growl of that sax helps. The band Morphine used a similar blending, albeit without brass. You might like their Cure For Pain album if you dig the electric strings/wind instrument mix.
Keith Richards has always maintained that his guitar sound was derived from trying to sound like a brass section. Clapton said his biggest influence was Little Walter playing his harmonica through an amp. What I'm driving at - electric guitars should be able to blend with brass sections. :) Cheers
all that Chris left us is his beautiful music and to hear it played so respectfully and professionally is a great tribute to him... well done brass against
Amanda....you have one helluva set of pipes! And brass......awesome tweak on the original. I just read tonight that Brass Against will play the "Welcome to Rockville" music fest at Daytona Speedway this November. Can't wait to see you guys live!
I love it when covers carry the same intensity as the original but yet hold a different vibe. Cornel's (to me) felt like it was from a place of weariness, Brown's version feels more like triumph, like someone just hopped on their motorcycle & left a whole mess of bullshit behind them.
Yes you have indeed described exactly how this version has hit me. The original was 'kin awseome. This although quite true to the original is its own masterpiece. Whoever thought of putting guitar and brass with that voice is a ruddy genius. And by christ can she sing, her voice is flawless; only the second female voice (Ellie Rowsell the other) to evoke emotion.
I had a hard time describi g it to someone who isn't listening to it yet. The best I could muster was "it's super fuckin creamy; smooth with no churn". Sorry, butter. The tonal colors in this are dazzling my ears in a pretty new way that's taking many listens to fully wedge into my brain.
I think that I’ve listened to this performance 30 times since I found to recently. Like it better every time. Amanda’s pipes, the sousaphone work, all of it. Wow. Just incredible.
We see all instruments in the song, that's how these recordings work. I also put on super nice headphones and listened and and the bass line is played by the guy on sousaphone.
I absolutely love the ferocity that this group brings to every cover. The arrangements are spot on and everything is tight. Keep making amazing songs into something fresh!!!
This gave me chills it's a perfect cover, you didn't dress it up, no pop star vibrato nonsense, just pure unadulterated rock vocals. If I wore a hat I'd take it off for you. Sick cover man.
Her voice with this song is absolutely incredible
Just a grown ass man getting goosebumps over here.
same here !
I’m not quite an old man yet but I’ve been listening to this song since I was a day old. And this group covered it exquisitely!
ditto. daaaaamn
Ditto
Right....can relate!!!
Little power house with a rock n roll soul! Don't sell out, you don't need too. You did that song right.
I just can't stop coming back to this video. Man this cover and Amanda's voice... this must be awarded as a hymn
Gotta say I love all the Brass Against singers, but Amanda's got such a set of pipes on her! This is one of my favorite covers - really solid performances by everyone, but her voice transports me every time.
Same, she feels it when she sings it.
Sophia,Maya,Amanda... amazing voices! luv it!
The album this is from is absolutely perfect. Cornell was such a real one. He is sorely missed.
SPOT F’ING ON!!!!!
I love how you guys can make trumpets/trombones blend with guitars.
The deep growl of that sax helps. The band Morphine used a similar blending, albeit without brass. You might like their Cure For Pain album if you dig the electric strings/wind instrument mix.
I'll look 'em up, thanks for the recc!
yes! Yes! YES! I miss mark sandman!
Hell ya Chicago did why not this band great sound awesome voice

Never has the phrase "They've got some pipes" been more appropriate than now! Wow, kick ass vocals with some awesome brass behind!
what a voice. chris would be proud
All that brass in one small room must be as much of a physical as an audio experience. You guys rock it! Love Amanda!
That was so unexpectedly good!
She really nailed Chris' performance here... the accent, tonality, everything. Man I am impressed.
induced tears of joy. no exaggeration.

She sounds pretty good. Cornell had a sound/voice that is hard to replicate.
There are people who appreciate what you do.
Woooohooooooooo!!!!!!’ 🤘
I was going to complain that they didn't use Sophia, until I heard her voice! This band kicks ass! I would love to see a duet between Sofia and Amanda
My thoughts exactly, agreed 100%
True.
This song fits Amanda better, but I am def a bigger Sophia fan. She KILLS it and I love th passion
How about they duet on an Alice in chains song :0
Holy Jesus Christmas. A Sophia and Amanda Alice in Chains Brass Against cover.... please stop teasing me
Amanda....you have one helluva set of pipes! And brass......awesome tweak on the original. I just read tonight that Brass Against will play the "Welcome to Rockville" music fest at Daytona Speedway this November. Can't wait to see you guys live!

That is one of the best description I've ever read on a music comment. Fantastic work!

Ditto!!
She made it her own and still kept to the original. Amazing
All the audioslave songs need to be covered eventually by all of you. Simply fantastic.
You can hear the personality of every musician and the unique sound of every instrument.
Amanda Brown just nailed this!
And this people is what you get. When outstanding musicians play together.
That voice! Hit me right in the soul-gut.
She sets this song alive!
Brass against is so amazing, just wow
This has great bond theme song vibes. Fitting that Cornell sang one
This is the greatest tuba-driven rap-metal hybrid female Audioslave cover I have ever heard.
Wow, just wow!!!!! Sing it girl...
Beautiful cover of a Great song! I love her voice. Chris Cornell still alive in our hearts. ♥️
What a spanking cover. Forever Cornell, he would be stoked to hear this brilliant track!

Y’all seriously kick so much ass. Love it.🤘🏾
I'm not usually a "voice guy," I'm into a raw/screamy rock performance, but her voice gives me goosebumps on this track. So smooth yet powerful.
Really great job . . . Ms. Brown hits this out of the park.
Wow, what a singer!! What a voice!! And what a Musikkombo.... Viele Grüße aus Deutschland!!??
As much as I like other Brass Against work, this is my favorite. Sharp. Precise. Passionate. Best sousaphone work that I’ve ever heard.
I think that I’ve listened to this performance 30 times since I found to recently. Like it better every time. Amanda’s pipes, the sousaphone work, all of it. Wow. Just incredible.
Those notes did not know how good it would be to get bent like that by Amanda, and they've never been happier
You should hear her sing Dream On! ua-cam.com/video/qmrIQueFogk/v-deo.html
I could listen to this woman's voice all day.
Smoothly executed! Gave me the chills! As if I heard Chris Cornell in a feminine singing voice! Wow!
WOW . Perfect.. 👏👏👏👏 Brass Against and Amanda. The covers of Sound garden and Audio slave. Great stuff . Can say enough… Love it

Amanda Brown is incredible. Cannot wait for her and Mrs Ursta bringing it together.
Great cover and "Show me how to live" cover is perfect
Words can't explain how amazing this cover really is.
The brass really brings out the fuzziness in that guitar distortion. Sounds badass.
Hairs stood up on the back of my neck. Damn, she's got some pipes and that brass is awesome. Chris would be digging this.
what freaking killer angel
Bring music and art back to schools nationwide immediately.
Wow!, what a great sound, good song choice. Animal on drums

Amanda Brown has some pipes! dayumm! Makin' Cornell happy :)
Good God the pipes on that woman. Incredible
You all fuckin rock. Where do you keep finding all these amazing vocalists!?!
This song has been playing in my head for a few weeks now. Hard to sleep when this is what you hear when you lay down and close the eyes.
Beg to disagree, feels like it all disappears into the sunset.
The horns kick ass!! Really give it even more power
i cant stop listening to this....a huge fan of chris cornel and this is one of the best covers of a chris cornel/ audioslave song!
Just amazing
What a voice!!! 😍
I've been late to the @brassagainst party. Good lord @Amandabrown ... Those beautiful pipes. You make it look effortless.
No credit for the big guy on the sousaphone? Cause listing to this with the bass up... the whole bass line is super super tight.
kinda like a super fuel dragster starting its warmup just before a burnout
all the intruments THRUM right at the beginning
Joshua Buckman sousaphone?
I’m almost sure there is a bass in this one
We see all instruments in the song, that's how these recordings work. I also put on super nice headphones and listened and and the bass line is played by the guy on sousaphone.
Joshua Buckman : Man, that sousaphone work, right?
Sounds like a breath of fresh air
Love this!
amazing voice
Love love 💕
I LOVE THIS WOMAN...., HER VOICE IS INCREDIBLE...
I absolutely love the ferocity that this group brings to every cover. The arrangements are spot on and everything is tight. Keep making amazing songs into something fresh!!!
Finally got one right! Amanda Brown kills this!!!
Yup she has been awesome for years and years, from before the Voice. Good to see she's still out there singing!
Loving it. Honouring Cornell hugely with your own style. Awesome.
This gave me chills it's a perfect cover, you didn't dress it up, no pop star vibrato nonsense, just pure unadulterated rock vocals. If I wore a hat I'd take it off for you. Sick cover man.
Holy shit! What the hell did I just witness?!? Mr. Cornell, wherever you may be sir, I hope you are proud and smiling at this!
