    Aloha Doug,
    I do educational fishing videos in Hawaii (UA-cam as Scuba Chris). Great angling there mate! Been thinking of using a Alvey 650 in Hawaii for GT/shark/ray shore bait casting. Nobody has ever done that here. Was wondering if i can use any standard surf casting rod, or does it have to have a short rear butt like i've seen in a few UA-cam videos? Thinking my 11' Lamiglas Insane Surf might be good with a Alvey? Mahalo! Christopher

      gday chris i know it's been 8 years but yes you will need a custom low mount mod. for gt and stuff i definitley recommend a 651 size alve, they hold 900m of 13kg (30lb line)

    Mono or braid

    • @rabbitskinner
      @rabbitskinner 7 років тому

      Ethan A mono for slide baiting

    • @ethana1017
      @ethana1017 7 років тому

      Lee Winger why

    • @rabbitskinner
      @rabbitskinner 7 років тому

      Ethan mono has more stretch, braid will pull out breakaway sinkers due to no stretch. you need biig grapnell sinkers for slide baiting

    That isn’t a mackerel that’s a king fish, mackerel have little yellow dots and kingfish don’t. Although mackerel are kingfishes cousins

      It depends on where you live. We call them mackerel in Australia. There is more to the world than America!

      I'm Aussie but once did a fishing trip off Florida and caught what looked like our Spotted Mackerel, only the skipper called them Spanish (nothing like our Spaniards). And what we call Tailor they call Bluefish.
