The Flat Cap Bus Driver like to Thank Anton and The Two Shauns. I am a former lgv 2 drive aka class 2 . Had car since passed at 18 in 1994 and class 2 since 2003 I recently went through interview and assessment day and got offered a trainee bus driver job. I was doing some research after I had applied and got accepted and came across Double-decker Anton's vids . It helped and made me laugh then I found the Two Shaun's the other days again same as above . Thanks guys.
I am waiting on DVLA sending my license with provisional back (two weeks still waiting) then I start all the driving test stuff . I will be driving in Glasgow with known company .

A very stimulating and powerful video for every bus-company. Better and stronger than any commercial . It simply adds that human feeling. I think the whole world web wants to become a busdriver in Yorkshire. Is. Can Your HR-department handle this!? Don't forget to mention that there a more jobs available than busdriver. People with disabilities can do other jobs at your bus company?

I can’t wait until I’m 18 and I go thru me training for Yorkshire Tiger, I also want to point out towards end when you both said there’s nowt in it for us if you say we told you to join , well I have seen the driver who recommended you to the company gets a bit of money aswell lol ,

I have to take my hat off to you both, but there is no way I would have the patience to be a bus driver, especially those school kids, I'd end up slinging everybody off. Love your vids.
You two crack me up, thanks for taking the time to make these videos. My journey to becoming a driver has just begun, I've got through the interview stage just my medical now. Watching you two and Anton has definitely inspired me to go for it this time after many years pondering whether to try or not. Keep up the filming guys.

great vid, just about to start the journey into bus driving via realise, the west Yorks mayor initiative. main worry is the reversing test and stopping within around a foot! How do you do that with just mirrors!

My LGV hazard perception was like GTA5
So today, I’ve passed my cpc, theory and hazard perception. On Monday I will start my first employed job ( been self employed) for 15 years as a trainee bus driver. Thanks for the videos been very helpful

I’ve always dreamt of being a coach driver I see the big ones driving on the m4, the ones with lots of wheels at the back and steer too😊 now I’ve seen this video I may now follow my dreams and apply do you know any good companies in my area to learn to drive? Is it hard to drive busses? And do I need a car licence to drive a bus or can I just go in for category B fingers crossed I guess

just changed jobs, was a bus driver for 17 years with First, enjoyed every minute of it, time for a change though, give it a try

Btw you can drive both now if you have automatic bus license news from my dad who can drive both with a car and bus who learned how to drive in a bus with a gear stick but he says they are a nightmare to drive! Who worked for a company called starthtay who the oldest buses in 2004-2011 but stagecoach bought a shame it was only in Blairgowrie Dundee Arbroath Forfar I think starthtay was around until 2011 not sure google it

If i send off a D4 form to myself to the DVLA and I then apply and get a job with a bus company would they accept the form i sent off or would they ask me to do another

This is to either shaun. I’m out on the road now with passengers. However my mentor is hell bent on me breaking the speed limits to stay on time. This can’t be right can it? Going fast in a bus breaking the law is nothing i signed up for. If think being late is better then speeding ?
Joe Bloggs yeah fine now.. I went in and told them to take that mentor off me and I got put with someone else. Who was the complete opposite, in terms of running late. If he started running late he just carried on same pace. No worries. That’s what I do now.
Can you work 40 hours a week on the buses? I do 60 hours a week on hgv and I’m sick of it

Jonathan Forrest eduacation isn’t something that companies look at really! In all my time bud driving and working on the office side of the business. Grades aren’t sometime employers in the industry don’t really look at. They look at someone’s willingness to learn and grow as a driver.
Learning to drive a bus is hard and takes a lot of stress and 😭 tears. But it’s 1000% worth it.
A lot a companies will put you through training school and teach you everything you need to know (you must have a catB already) they will also provide you with all the training to gain your DQC/CPC Card.

In your medical what do they ? Do they check your heart and stuff like that as I’m hoping to be a driver in a few years ?
I'm having mine with stagecoach soon, I've been told they ask/check in the following areas:
- eye conditions
- heart conditions
- psychiatric conditions
- diabetes
- any other medical conditions
- blood pressure
- height/weight
- alcohol/drugs test

does it cost money to having bus lessons
if you do it privately then yes, anything unto about £1500 but a lot of companies will put you through their training school. Usually you'll be tied in for around 2 year.
