I realize the chain was on there for traction, but my steel wheel plow is just as smooth with no chain required. I'd have to pull it to see the difference.
Very good dear friend. Wonderful video
Nice find! Farmall Fanatic!!!
Thanks for showing Great Machines 👍😉
Good morning happy Sunday 👍
You got them, great video!!!!
good looking unit!!

Hi new friend.good video.
Great descriptive video!!
👍👍
For no reason at all I have international harvester song stuck in my head lol
Haha
Hornets got FOAMED!!
my dad bought a new 51 H with the little genius 2-14 plow it had slow speed mowboards made for 2nd gear our H had the power to pull it in 3rd but it threw the dirt too far, our plow had an air tire on the back which always went flat so dad found a steel wheel like the one in this video.dad gave me the H on my 10 birthday in 64 and taught me to farm with it.
Bro, everybody knows you need snow chains on one side of a 2 bottom plow!!! 😂😂. I thought I was gonna see you go up there and seat that nest off with your bare hands💪 good video.
Haha i hate those things
Nice...find brother
👍😎 Nice video, thanks.
Look like that spray worked pretty good
Farmall, I want to thank you for your comment on the video I uploaded this morning. It had a glitch so I had to yank it to edit, and I lost comments, but I saw your comment. Thank you again 👍
I've got some old tires outside you can pick through the pile
Chain to get a traction on wet slippy grass, to run trip up down of the plow.
It's just weird on my little genius on steel wheels they are smooth and it works fine but maybe this plow is different sense it is lighter
My grand dad would put a snow chain on the furrow wheel to add traction on the "trip" action. In certain ground conditions, you'd find that, that wheel slipped occasionally. That plow is well worth the cost for the hitch alone let alone the plow itself. Good find.
We always sprayed directly into the nest itself, kills the hornets inside and destroyed the nest from the inside out. But, also always best to spray at night time, many are out as "gatherers", you didn't get them all for that nest. Odds are, if you have one nest, you most likely have another somewhere else.
What would you offer him if you were me?
War in bees and farmall wins..💥
learn a lot about farm machinery here oh boy that hornets nest its got to go
*🎭🔍full view 😊 supported🔎🎭✅ we gave a like👍🇦🇺👍😉*
Never saw that kind of plowing
Dude got his money's worth out of them tires.
By by hornets.
Im hunting for a Tractor with a front loader in my area. I havent got near enough knowledge to farm my land but I still need a tractor to help me carry all these engines and transmissions around.
Nice little plow hope you get a good deal on it! #WorldsOkayestFarmer
With slick tires he added the chains to help the tire from sliding when lifting or going in the ground.
It just didn't make sense to me, based on the facts out my little genius as to steal wheels that are as smooth as can be
ATTENTION: NO HORNETS WAS HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO.
Im glad that's not true lol
We sometimes would have a chain on the trip wheel if we were plowing a hay field that had manure hauled on it. When you wanted it to lift it would just slide on the manure and plow through the water way.
Yeah I can kind of see that now I was just thinking from a perspective of my little genius being on steel and no tread at all
That log splitter looks like ours lol.... omgosh I am so allergic to them suckers..... just watching you makes my throat swell....
They are useless creatures lol
That splitter looks powerful
@@FarmallFanatic ours is pretty good ... does the job for sure... the only purpose they serve is to test out the 27 feet spray can 😁
chains make the tire turn instead of sliding in certain conditions when trying to lift.
The chains were most likely there to make sure that it raised when its tripped to raise since the wheel is what operated the lift. Since the tire is bald.
Boom...you got it
Like 13 Nice upload
steel wheels would have had studs that would slide in and out to act as a stud. that is the trip wheel so you would not want it to slip when trying to raise or lower but you know it already
Nice looking plow! I hope you got it! What brand of back tires do you run on your Farmals or what brand would you recommend that is a reasonable price? Have a good week!
Interesting!! Thanks so much for sharing!!👍👍
The tire has a chains on because if you pull the rope that wheel is attached to the gearbox that will lift the plow out of the ground.
I was just thinking that my little genius on steel has no tread on it at all and it does fine
Is this one of the plows from this era that used the rotation of the land tire to power the lifting mechanism at the end of the field? I don't remember if the was an IH invention, but some plows had a robe hanging on the tractor to pull, first to drop the plow, and then at the end of the field to lift the plow out of the ground. All this would explain why there is a chain on the land wheel (for traction).
Sure is...I have one like it on steel. Smooth but still works fine.
The tire chain is because when he would trip the plow it wouldn't lift the tire would just slide without the chain
Why doesn't my smooth steel wheel slip?
Chains for traction due to bald tires!
This!
Always awesome content my brother!! Had to stop by and say thank you for dropping my first ever super chat!!! Brandon and I truly appreciate your friendship!!
BOOM
I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw the Superchat turned on haha...congratulations...youre legit!
@@FarmallFanatic Thank you my friend!! you are awesome!!
I would like to have it too
Hornets love combines. I've had to deal with big nests. There was a huge nest in the hopper of our 914 combine one year when I was young and my dad dealt with them and I had to deal with them on our 1660 combine too. That's a nice Little Wonder plow. A Farmall Super C, 200, or 230 would be just nice on that. They used the chain for traction to lift the plow when it trips. The Little Wonder carries different, therefore, might take more to lift, and if it's lighter it would have less traction. Originally, those rubber tired trip lift implements had a tire like the rear of a tractor on the trip clutch wheel for traction.
Thanks for sharing have a nice day
Sure that's not a fire extinguisher
There's chain cuz the wheels are so smooth and they didn't want new tires
Hi my friend
I hate being surprised by bees
Ouch on the hornet be neat if you got the plow. How many acres of crop land do you have?
I got stung by one a couple days ago as well. As for the chain, I'm sure it's meant to be for traction, but I'm not real sure how that helps on an implement being towed either.
chains are for traction when tripping the plow
First😀
My grandpa had barns full of old Farmall equipment .
Wow very interesting video thank you for sharing 😊 💕👍 👍
Thanks for sharing great video Boom 💥
Like most farmers of the 50’s Dad and Mom were very frugal!
No doubt
The worst place to find a hornets nest is an old pile of hay. When you spear a bale while in a skid steer you have no where to go, your gonna get stung. That's why I carry a can of that in the skid steer.
Damn
There's no good place to find a bees' nest. They're usually a nasty surprise no matter where you find it.
Great video thanks for sharing 💞
Probably to keep tire from slipping when clutch is tripped to pick up plow! Nice video
Ive seen people put a aggressive tread tire on that side for traction on clutch lift
Did you end up buying that plow?
@@jeremyswindell7460 The guy was a way down in the mountains camping so I will go make him an offer on Monday
Jeremy Swindell Exactly. You need traction to lift the plow at the end of your field. The chains give that to you.
Cheers!
Whipple
I'm always fascinated by farm machinery and tools, love seeing old style tractors and plows when I walk past farms on my hikes, interesting video, all the best 👍 you blasted those hornets good and proper
Just picked up one of those plows from the auction for 35 bucks.
Great buy
That plow was cool! Those hornets are jerks. Keeel eeeem. Tire chain was on the tire when he put the tire on the plow...
I don't think you put enough on you should give it a second coat
That looks like a nice little plow. Glad you found the nest before you got stung. That spray seemed to work pretty well. Nice video, have a great day
Country boy knows what to do when walking into a hornets nest👍BTW when Momma don't have no wasper spray Aqua Net and a big lighter😁
Basically a flame thrower haha
So did you buy it?
I have a hornets nest that my dad found wrapped around the side of pine tree about 10 years ago. They capped him when he was brush hogging.
He killed the nest with some spray, cut the side of the tree out with the nest, and sprayed it with lacquer. Makes an interesting conversation piece!
I can't get ahold of the guy apparently hes camping
That is a neat little plow- thanks for the info!!
That's pretty cool how that wasp n hornet killer works. Can't run a farm without it!
Nice spray action too that was on point!
Fantastic work i like my friends so great
You are great at what you do, thanks for the information and sharing
OH yeah that nest is caving in nicely. My biggest trouble is the agressive carpenter bees in the barn. I have to carry a tennis racket sometimes.
tougue needs to be adjusted to hold tail wheel off ground when it is tripped up. we had a 2 bottom john deere that way
they had a tendency to slide the trip wheel when lifting thats reason for the chain
Interesting. I have a steel wheeled to bottom and it's as smooth as a baby's butt and I have never slipped it but rubber could be different
@@FarmallFanatic i guess i dont understand that in our country any trip plow had issues when trying to lift out of ground as that wheel does the lifting. many put tires on and chains to prevent it
@@joescheller6680 i have 2 steel wheels on my little Genius 2 bottom. They are as smooth as ANY bald rubber tire and they have never slipped
My Dad had a Massey Harris plow and it was almost exactly like that one! With the smooth tire and tire chain also!
Case made an identical one too
doesn't the plow raise up out of the ground when you pull that cable, the chains are probably so the bald tire doesn't just scoot?
Yeah I think you're right, But my steel tires are also bald and they don't scoot either but Hey whatever works
It's true, that tire raises up the plow when you pull the cord. The cord also drops the plow. You can pull it behind an A. I pulled my grandpa's behind a farmall BN no problem!
dont know the number never seen an ih with that type of trail wheel we had a john deere with that type of sysytem the trail wheel comes completely off ground when you trip it up but without the trail wheel helping to lift plow like normal the trip wheel will slide under certain conditions. the steel wheels had bar clips bolted to trip wheel
Mine don't have the bar clips
Awsome old plow stinks about the Hornets ty for sharing sledgehammered that like button and sharing to Twitter
I used the same spray and I took a long piece pvc pipe and knocked them down, that stuff works
Looked like a nice plow Farmall. That hornets nest melted like butter after you sprayed it, glad you didn’t get stung.
Wow that is a cool little plowing I’ve seen this on a farm when I was a kid nice find love this video good luck on the offer let me know if you bought it I’m in Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦 👍👍💥💥
My guess is. The tire chain is a traction thing. Thanx Farmall👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼♥️🍵
That is a good looking little plow, have fun with the bugs
The only time I see chains on tires is in the winter. Weird that only chains on one tire 🤔 Eeekk!! That’s a pretty good size hornets nest 😱 I buy that same hornet killer.
*Chains.* Because tractor/implement tires just aren't heavy enough already. 🚜
love using chains, they dont get full of stickers and the mud doesnt stay caked up like a strap would, plus they last forever mostly.
@@johndowe7003 Can't argue with that. 👍 Sarcasm from my 1st comment not withstanding. 😉
wow, quick release on the hitch, that is interesting. Great shape and assume had the chain on to compensate for the bald tire
Great video thanks brother. Nice old plow. Great job on the bees keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother.
I am new came from stroh time. Showing you 💖.
Glad you saw them before they saw you😅😅😅😁👍🏿👍🏿
Great find! You feel the same way about hornets as I do! LOL Great video
Reckon that plough wuda had what we call spade lugs on steel wheels to get grip for raising the plough 🤔 I have an international BF200 two furrow plough which was one o the first international ploughs built over here for 3point linkage and most of the frame on it is leftover beams plough legs etc from the trailing plough era and it had International Ace bodies on it 👍
Hate a dang hornet. Nice plow thanks for sharing. Farmall Boom 💥
Great plow (plough here in the UK), I hope you get a deal on it and bring it home. We had a large hornet nest last year and dad tripped over it, he was not as lucky and got stung bad
Nice find. Did you get all the little buggers? LOL
have you ever used a 2 row disk plow? not talking disk harrow but a plow such as john deere 402 i use a pao 21 two row and it works awesome
No but I've seen videos in your right they do look like they work really good
@@FarmallFanatic i havent had a chance to use mine as much as id like. i was gonna ask you, whats the best way to go about measuring hydraulic pressure on a farmall m. should i close all ports except one and put a gauge to it or? and which port should i put the gauge on. i been looking through the forums but havent found anything worthwhile
It's looking real good dude! Might need to sweep that up!
Wow, walked into a hornet's nest! 🐝🐝 Yikes! I think the chains are on the wheel to drag through the mud. Watched in full.
Chains for traction, lol that's red-necking it my friend! .....How many plows does one need? ♡
I have no idea about farm equipment but even I would ask about the chain on the tire...
