Saving Private Zussman
So true lol
lmao yes!
Its a movie not a game lol
toxicyoutuber hahaha I laughed
Erwin Rommel you talk with stupidity
I would luv a single player add on in the pacific. I think it would be pretty cool and cover more stories of ww2.
Cod Waw had a ton of missions in pacific
Timm Tam well then go play waw because cod had not given a fuck about its single player since black ops
Or the war from the perspective of a german solider
I would like to play as a Japanese soldier and bayonet some round eyed pinkys.
Stalin killed the most
God I want a D-day operation in a ww2 battlefield that would be amazing
I think Hell Let Loose has plans on doing Utah beach.
Jaffaborn hell yes
I know it’s probably not possible, but imagine an operation where two maps (and four teams) were somehow linked together. One would be inland and one would be the beach landing. The inland mission would consist of the airdrop of paratroopers with the objective of taking out German artillery cannons firing on the beach, and the beach landing would be, well... the beach landing. As long as the inland paratroopers don’t take out the big guns, they continue firing on the guys on the beach, but once those guns are eliminated, the job of the soldiers on the beach becomes quite a bit easier.
I don’t know, I think it would be cool if implemented correctly to have different things linking multiple maps’ progress together to make each map more variable and feel more like part of a larger war.
Furkan Kaya I know, but I’m talking about two Allies teams and two Axis teams playing simultaneously on two different maps where the objectives won or failed on one map could affect the other. Kind of like operations, but happening at the same time
True
You should've mentioned the health system. It's actually pretty good for a cod game. I was really positively surprised
The health system was shit
@@Strawhalo what because you can't spontaneously absorb bullet wounds and be ready to go after three seconds of sitring behind a wall? I'll admit its not historically accurate that bandages can fix a machine gun torrent to the chest but its a far cry better than 'fuck i got shot, im gonna sit here and wait until my eyes naturally stop bleeding'
@@jesuschrist9513True lol
I want a german perspective.
Yes, they were people...
Diego Trujillos Martinez Yup, kinda tired of the whole "yeah but they're nazis." Imagine the intense storyline of a german soldier drafted and fighting a war he didn't have a part of. So much wasted potential....
While I do agree with that Idea... I feel people in this moment of time would take things the wrong way if they looked at it face value.
Cant see it ever happening in a brand as big as Call of Duty. The media would criticise the game heavily even though most of the Germans had no real choice. Hitler’s motto was basically make Germany great again. Remind you of someone? Germany was completely fucked after WW1 and it’s no surprise that they turned to Hitler to make them strong again. Most of the soldiers had no choice.
You want a campaign that would end in you losing the war so all the missions you did would be pointless......
Diego Trujillos Martinez You know why they don't do that? The Germans of back then would tell to much truth and that's what they don't want to spread.
Say what you want, the Wehrmacht knew how to freakin' dress.
Josh Dumas high fashion
Hugo Boss designed some of the uniforms
Its like they knew they needed to dress like bad guys
The fashion army
@@rubenlopez3364 the thing is, our image of "bad guys" is literaly defined by german WW2 uniform designs. Darth Vaders helmet ? cross of stahlhelm and samurai kabuto helmet.
youll find bad guy designs everywhere in cinema and game basically recycling themes of german WW1/2 design.
It's battlefield that need to work on the campaign and cod on the mp
This deserves more likes than it should.
I can respect this, but I just don't dig Battlefield campaigns... I can fully respect you're opinion, I just think the characters in battlefield are very forgettable. I tried battlefield 1 and the gameplay was fine but the story was stupid (Opinion only!) 3 had a decent story however, but i felt gameplay lacked.
Battlefield's story dipped so hard after Battlefield 3, if Sledgehammer can recreate glory days of BF3 and BFBC2, COD would sell really well
@@jamessnively1244 this is literally what he said. Battlefield campaigns are bad and COD mps are bad, but the vice versa is good
I just finished the story. It gave me goosebumps. It is amazing.
People hated the previous games but at least they provided some original scenarios. Everything in this campaign is essentially a greatest hits mashup of Medal of Honour (storming the beaches, infiltration mission, armoured trains stuff for example), Band of Brothers , Saving Private Ryan and previous Call of Duties ( 1-3 , Big Red One, World at War). Talk about déjà vu...
What about playing as Gurkhas in Burma ? Or a Foreign Legionnaire fighting for the Free French at Bir Hakiem ? Or as a Chinese Resistance fighter fighting the Kuantung army in Manchuria. So many stories to tell, yet no we have th retread the same old US centric WW2 tropes. It's a shame.
Jak0Spades, gotta wait for the dlcs, like fuck that!
Because the company is American?
Medal of Honor had my favorite D Day intro mission
Jesus Christ, that soldier punches the shit out of you.
Well he's fighting for his life so...ya
Im skeptical to buy this every time a new cod comes out everyone says it's great but in my opinion the last good cod was black ops 2
K C123 exactly I still go back to play that game bc the new games are trash
So far everything has been really fun in the campaign except for the fucking tank segment. The controls for that made me rage a bit
Trey Kneppler, yeah, i even yelled at my sister cuz i got annoyed as she got into my room.
Yea when u try to back up left and the tank goes forward right lol
+ coming off of war thunder, tank combat felt... bad...
If you think that’s bad wait until man vrs tank on hill 493 with veteran mode on. That was even worse thank the tank part because how many times I had to restart the mission either because I was at a hornbills spot or because my save got corrupted and once I finally beat it I was so happy because the tank won’t do any more shit to me.
Trey Kneppler I have played 200 hours of WT so wasn’t phased by a tank level
Maybe I’ve been spoiled by both Battlefield and Battlefront but man the sound design in this game is almost pathetic. The guns are terrible, the levels are awkwardly silent or the background noises are extremely quiet. Sound is essential in making the player feel immersed in their experience and CoD ww2 just didn’t have it
cracktober, yeah so true, expected an epic intro, so much loud noices, all i hear is just people shouting, some are just screaming, and less gunfire sounds and explosions.
even the mg42 is much louder and scary than the game.
TheAboveAverageWar yeah the mounted LMG feel so cheap
it sounds as if all of the voice acting was recorded in a large room, with the actor standing far away from the mic. that would be appropriate in a room, like the cathedral in whatever mission, or the basement with all the german civilians. however, in the MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING OPEN, it should be totally dead, no reverb whatsoever. as sort of an audio engineer myself, this bugged the fuck out of me, and took me out of the game every time someone spoke. zussman spits a line in the middle of the forest in death factory and suddenly i feel like he's speaking in a room that hasn't had sound treatment.
Medal of Honor Warfighter had better sound design in its Beach Invasion sequence.
So no Russian or British campaign?
correct....
StronkGameReviews yeah! what the actual fuck! and no red army faction in multiplayer
matt1523 I can't tell if you're mocking the game or genuinely don't know
Sepand Bandi Red Army troops can be equipped in multiplayer. The factions are Allies and Axis
TrafficJAM but can you play as them though? I just want to blast the Soviet March on my bluetooth speaker while I triumph past enemies!
Why are youtubers not playing COD on veteran level? You would get rid of the annoying crosshair in singlplayer :-)
Also this game is missing something... and that something is: atmosphere. Earlier CODs had that, but this game does not make you feel like you are in WW2.
Toon M I disagree with that last statement but my biggest criticism with this campaign is it's length and linear design also the lacy of the specialist mode from IW could've been good to make you feel a lot more vulnerable
Cod on higher difficulties does not workout every well at all.
i reckon is the linear design of the game. Old Cod games like cod 2 let you explore a bit more of the area and atmosphere, but instead this one is more like a single solid path that you have to follow every single second, which kinda avoids you to make a real contact with the game, thus the atmosphere of World war era.
I bet if they actually make a game in where you can truly interact with the people and environment then you will definitely feel like you are there. i doubt this one does. a shame really.
However, you may have grown with those old COD games, meaning you have got used to them and think that that's what a WW2 game should look like. My raw opinion
i felt like that too, something bout the atmosphere, gun/enviroment sounds etc is off to me, not feeling as immersive into the battle.
Because veteran isn't enjoyable. The game gets rid of many UI elements and give enemies higher damage output, and that's it. It's still a hitscan shooter. They never optimize the mode beyond these modifications. The difficulty spike becomes all over the place. I finished veteran for CoD4 and Modern Warfare 2 and decided to never do them again in the future.
It's the same story from MOHAA (medal of honor allied assault)
Adrian Toledano I mean I wasn’t surprised as the founders of CoD came from MOH. It’s basically the same thing just updated (except for sounds the CoD gun sounds are trash)
but no, desert campaigns, more spy mission than cod ww2.
Actually, the founders of the ORIGINAL CoD came from MoH, Infinity Ward, and most of those guys left to go make Titanfall.
BF1 covers many theaters of war... Cod is like "'Murica".
The very first COD, had a US campaign, a British one and Soviet one.
The guns sound like they put together a group of 5 year olds, showed them each of the weapons that would be in the game, and told them to do their best impression of what each would sound like.
matt1523 oh no it does not, not even close. They nailed the garand ping thought
Caden Yancey tbh, I could probably do a better representation of real life guns compared to cod lol
matt1523 that was a joke right?
GAM1NGgeek 369 I'm sure a GAMING GEEK knows a lot about these gun sounds .
when you say you tryna show what things are, dont change the small parts, the small parts are the criticals yah know. without it, why make something awesome without the small parts, it is like making a summary of a novel.
IDK wtf did i just wrote. type rather
It's ultimately not that bad. The first mission of course wouldn't feel innovative because there are only 2 major parts to Normandy: The beach landings and the paratroopers. I'd give the campaign an 8.5/10. It could've been longer, but nothing is really worth complaining about.
Ratings like 8.5 are way, way too high. Ratings like these suggest that the game was nearly perfect, amonsgt games like The witcher 3, Wolfenstein 2 etc... but WW2 is nowhere near these games. WW2 is a solid 6/10 but in the end it doesnt take any risks, is preditcable and constantly interrupts your gameplay.
InSpace Oo I meant to put 7.5 out of 10. It would've been higher if multiplayer, the servers, and other issues were fixed or improved. I pretty much avoid the Multiplayer, unless I'm surely in a good mood.
I actually disagree. The story is pretty clice' and predictable. The big hits are basically ones we have seen in every major WWII game (Normany, Battle of the Bulge, etc.) Even negating that, majority of the missions we have seen before gameplay wise as well. Tank (with horrible controls) section? check. Driving a vehicle really fast, then move from driver to gunner? Checked twice. Assault a position, then hold onto it for set amount of time, then destroy enemy vehicles as they pull up? Checked multiple times. There are two unique sections (spy mission, which even that was done way back in almost every MOH game) and sneaking with a civilian. The former being way too short and the latter being a test of patience in trial and error. There's also QTEs, which I thought we left for good from CoD when they got terribly bashed in COD 3. Not to mention the default key for asking for things from your teammate is N, which is very odd. Even remapping that, you still have to find that buddy, point at him, hope he's not doing something scripted, wait for him to say his voice line, throw the item to you, and then watch as you do your animation. It was supposed to make you care about your squad, but in reality I basically ignored it because it was so tedious. It also didn't have a big change on the health system as most think, basically instead of sitting behind cover and waiting for your health to go up, you wait in cover and hit a button then wait for your health to go up.
Sorry to rant, but there were numerous issues with the campaign and I kept hoping it would get better. Honestly, remove the vehicle sections and the QTEs and it'd be pretty decent, even with the banal story.
This game was basically a remaster of every previous WWII shooter packed into one. I wanted to like it because WWII is my favorite time in history but this game didn't have nearly the same emotional impact as something like Brothers In Arms for a game that continually advertised to "educate" a new generation on the horrors of war.
cracktober Well what do you expect from an American company who's biggest concern is their microtransaction system? We're lucky enough we even get a campaign with actual good voice actors this year.
The single player campaign was good but it was very short. I was expecting a long campaign but it turned out to be short. I wish there were more missions and if you can play as the Russians because the Soviet Union deafeted hitler and the nazis
Both sides did
@@jesuschrist9513 USA and Britain didn't do anything in comparison to the USSR. It was their might and massive numbers that won the war. Had it not been for hitler's mistake of initiating operation barbarossa before finishing off UK he would not have been defeated
Haven't played this game yet but am actually kind of impressed with the design of those quicktime events you were critical of. I've only ever seen those where you just hit a button really fast or a sequence, but never where you have to also get the mouse into a small target and then hit the buttons. Looks like a cool idea for a feature that I don't mind at all as long as its used sparingly.
CoD ww2 < CoD World at war
CoD ww2 > every CoD game since mw3
world at war was definitely better than this game.....
Chris Kelly84 that’s what they said lmao
Not better than Black ops 2 and that campaign was original and amazing and also not better than advanced warfare, but every other game, yes
@@chriskelly509 how?
@@porg7373 because nostalgia
In their defense, the campaign follows the story of the 1st Infantry Division, aka The Big Red One. Which indeed landed on Omaha beach, so not including this in the game would have been a miss. And following this particular division in a WW2 title, like the series Band of Brothers did with the 101st Airborne, makes sense, as these guys fought all over the place in major engagements.
COD ww2 has a good campaign but battlefield 1 owns cod on multiplayer
MousecopII u alright?
MousecopII True
Cod ww2 owns bf1 campaign, bf1 owns multiplayer
Meh. I dont know. BF1 MP is boring as fuck, WW2 MP has a lot of bs
MousecopII It's between Battlefield's overly casual multiplayer and CODs multiplayer with a lot of obnoxious mechanics. I'd say both are meh in my opinion.
They should do a thing like the campaign is a french soldier trying to defend france form the germans and then turning to the french resistance. And for multiplayer every couple months a new year would come out like 1939- french map, belgium map, yugoslavia map etc 1940-dunkirk map, battle of britain etc and all the more years
I'm a call of duty hater typically but this campaign was amazing. I'm a sucker for any video game/movie/tv show set during WW2 though
Loadout idea!
Time Travelling Russian
Primary: Mosin Nagant Marksman
Secondary: Obrez Pistol(Cut down Mosin)
Gadgets: have fun, experiment a bit
Grenade: Russian standard grenade
You are a Mosin enthusiast. You built a damn TIME MACHINE to go back to its roots so you could blow off the heads of your foes with your many Mosins with your comrades. Play ONLY on russian maps, and whenever you feel like yell something russian...such as vodka! And most of all, remember to HAVE A SHIT TON OF FUN
Guns sound so bad on this game. Not even better than 10$ days of infamy..
cssdoritocss explain sheep
Garrett Howard calling people sheep but defending this game in multiple threads.. CoD never had good sound effects for its guns
Conor Cunningham " defending " , i have " defended this game " in 3 comments, asking people to explain their opinions is not a act of defense its a simple question, the sheep part infers that they are sheep, just blatantly hating anything that goes against their tastes, cough cpigh levelcaps fanbase
Garrett Howard what more needs to be explained? The gun sounds in day of infamy is far better.
really true m8, im with yah, 10$ vs $100 game
I wish all reviews were presented like this one, good job man!
i loved it! it's literally the game i've always dreamed of! it's like they personally made the game just for me.. high expectatons and still it blew me away, if the next cod is called The Pacific im gonna lose my mind :P you didnt touch on the fact that the battles are so much more realistic in the way that you are NO LONGER the Cod super hero, you're a normal guy in a squad.. you actually depend on your squad mates, to give you ammo and grenades and most of all, med kits! that you have to find cover to actaully fix yourself is huge! you're no longer invincible, if you get shot you have to take care of it! yet they give you plenty, so it's not a game about "find the hidden med kits" it's just there to make it more realistic. And even bigger, other teammates can get hurt and you can heroicly go over and drag them to safety, that's a huge step to make a Battle feel more realistic and not make the other just feel like a generic background, but actaul people.. Also important to note that WW2 actually had real huge battles with a lot of people, so high number of kills are not that far fetched, a Finnish sniper, Simo Haya or something, had over 700 comfired kills.. i would give this single player a 9/10, the fact that you can shoot a man 5 times in the head makes it feel like you're using a pellet gun, it's a huge deal! really sad, and makes it unnecessary to have a machine gun, single bolt is more effective -.- make sence to balance the multiplayer, but in single player, which should be more realistic it makes no sense, a machine gun should be an advantage against a single bolt rifle! It's almost a game ruiner.. :/ also too much graphics on screen, like hitmarkers, who the hell wants that in SP?? :O what?
One man army Michael Bay directed interactive movie. That's what Cod is now
Xcho that's what it's been for a long time lol.
Xcho Nah that was MW2
That's what every FPS game is? Tell me any FPS game you enjoy and I'll say the same thing, the game wouldn't be fun if you weren't a one-man army. Otherwise, you would be getting maybe 5 or 10 kills and then shot and then discharged and sent back home. How's that for a game? Loll people exaggerating how many cutscenes there are. But if there weren't so many the story and character arcs would not be properly conveyed to the audience. When you're in the middle of a gunfight you can't listen and give the proper attention to your mates if you're blasting away at Nazis. The story was great anyway and gameplay was fun. I hope you at least pirate the game and play the singleplayer, make sure you give the scenes attention and really listen cause it's a really good story.
Now? It always been like that. Including CoD1 and 2
so true
I'm still not interested in COD again
I'm already selling my copy.... I was very disappointed.
Good thing there are thousands of other games to play.
Tremendous Thequadfeeder You're such a tough little guy aren't you... We both know you won't say that in person.
These fucks that freely use the N-word behind their computer screen need such an ass kicking.
Robert E And I would love to give it to em.
Great review LevelCap, pretty much my thoughts as well. I like how so many levels are basically throwbacks at old Call of Duty/Medal of Honor games like the one where you have to infiltrate a german outpost dressed as a Nazi.
Really enjoy the diversity between different games you show. How's you little kid doing? How's dad life? Maybe a vlog video is needed?
Thomas Di Marco level caps a dad? Man I feel so weird
Caleb Clarke Yes, yes taken ;]
Thomas Di Marco i️ didn’t even know he had a kid and i’ve been subbed for almost 5 years now.
@Thomas Di Marco - No, vlog video is really not needed. This is a gaming channel. I don't care about his personal life, and I really find it annoying when youtubers hit a certain number of subs and then think they became some e-celebs who need to blog about their day to day life. Stick to what you do and what your audience initially came for. It's the same when these Hollywood "stars" have a need to comment on politics and social issues. Everyone has some goddamn opinion these days, people need to stick to their damn job.
Filip Piletic i understand it's was just my opinion. I didn't mean to say he should start vlogging i just think maybe a small recap is possible and maybe needed. Also i think at least some of his viewers would like to see a little bit of his life at the moment being a new dad and a great youtuber.
Thanks for jumping right into recommending the campaign as thats all I wanted to really hear. Stopped the video there sadly but dropped a like and a comment to make up for it :D lol
Anyone else love the soundtrack?
It was honestly the best call of duty campaign I've ever played , and I've played the original call of duty games first campaign that won awards
Honestly I was really disappointed with the campaign. The characters felt really forgettable, and boring. And the Tank and Plane combat is stupid, because we COD each year for infantry combat not Vehicle combat, and don’t get me started on how awful the controls were for the tank. And the whole health pack system was pretty cool, but it made the gameplay very slow, and frustrating when you healing constantly. I wish it was a optional difficulty, like IW’s bonus campaign game mode. And the whole campaign felt very much like Band of Brothers, and Saving Private Ryan. I wish we got two different storylines like MW2 with Task Force 141, and Marines, so we can explore a different part of WW2 like Asia, Africa, Italy or Russia.
But that’s just my opinion.
I agree. I did not like the campaign. I WANTED to, but it was just so banal. It was basically all the same things we have seen in previous WWII games. Not to mention the generic "follow orders" or "save my soldiers" trope that exists in just about every war story ever told. Not to mention the only time anybody truly died they were nameless troops you didn't learn anything about. The story would have been way more impactful had you lost someone from your squad. Brothers in Arms (the first) told a much better story and that game is 12 years old now. The other downside was quick time events and the awful vehicle sections.
To me they were trying to get in touch with one of my first and favorite CoD games, Finest Hour on the GameCube. They tried but failed miserably. In Finest Hour the missions in Aachen made me feel like it was a true slog, taking Remagen and the Rhine bridge took enough effort to make me feel satisfied in doing it. This is without brining up the glaring historical innacuracies with almost every mission. P-47s as escort fighters, the 1st Infantry division being involved at all with the liberation of Paris, inexplicable Russian weapons on the western front. The list goes on.
J2stin , Too me their not memorable because they don’t have anything special about them, Ghost was special because of his mask. You may not remember, but in MW3 their was a character called Grinch who used a DMR, and was apart of sandman’s team. I remember this character because of the name and the DMR despite the fact he was a irrelevant character.
Zussman doesn’t have any special/unique thing about him, that’s why I bet he’ll never be a iconic character like Soap or Woods, it was the same story with AW. I don’t remember any of the names of the characters in AW, because they weren’t iconic.
If Zussman had something iconic about him like a sniper rifle, or a different coloured helmet, I think he could have been a very iconic character like Ghost. The only reason Ghost was awesome was because of his mask, giving Zussman something like this could cement him in CoD history.
Not deep
I thought the campaign was dope. I actually liked the characters and loved how badass Daniels was
What's wrong with the frame rate in the beginning when you're storming the beach? I want to say it looks laggy but that's not quite right. Have ever seen someone move in the dark under a strobe light? It looks like every other frame is missing. That's what it looks like.
"Well written" the script was lame as fuck
Let’s see you write something better.
+Peep
Divulging an honest opinion about the script is not even remotely similar to claiming to be able to write a better one wtf
toothless toe Why are you making a comparison? All I said was that he couldn’t write anything better, than what was presented to us.
+Peep You're conflating a negative opinion with claiming to be a better script writer. He simply said "The script was lame as fuck," not "The script was so lame, I could write a better one than this pile of shit."
^
Idk what you’re talking about I loved the the plane and tank sequences
I really dislike hitmarkers in singleplayers. Not really sure why...
Same here actually. I only like them for grenades.
They should have focused on the Germans Point of view.
The one thing cod does better than battlefield
Flame Rifle x that's subjective but I do agree
I’m a bf player I agree
I wish ea did mor for bf1 campaign, we don’t get a lot of good ww1 campaigns in this world.
that's how it's always been though, BF makes a better Multiplayer COD does a better single player just my opinion.
Bad Company storyline was great. Unfortunately, Bf3, 4, 1 and Hardline were trash story wise.
The epilogue and the whole Zussman story really got me becuase its something that you would never expect from a fps game. Also the battle of the bulge is now one of my favourite mission sin CoD history.
I wish there were a couple missions in between Zussman being captured and when you rescue him though. Felt like a bit of a rush to have the climax of the game be the last two missions
I just hate how I'm going up against German soldiers all armed with automatic weapons. Some of them are even using Russian weapons.
Arie Heath Germans captured lots of Russian weapons and some were sent to the western front for soldiers to use
yeah like no kidding, germans mostly use the mp38 and mp40s for smgs, but kar98Ks are more dominant in infantry.
TheNutSlapper69 dumbass I'm putting the events in actual historical context
The Soviets were on the side of the axis, so the Germans might have had Russian weapons left over.
There is no evidence of the German's using Soviet weaponry on the western front. I suppose it's possible but it's VERY unlikely. Picking up a PPSH on D-Day just doesn't feel right. I don't see why they couldn't be more realistic like CoD 2 and just stick to American and German weapons.
Well the D day mission is what really happened. They got on the boats, took machinegun fire, everything went crazy, they blew up the barbed wire with bangalores, and cleared out the pillboxes. All the games do that because that is what really happened. So don't complain.
This campaign gets a 1/10
No Kevin Spacey
Thanks for the video LevelCap. I've always been a fan of the COD single player campaigns (although not the last few ones) and this looks pretty fantastic. My only hesitation is paying like $60 (or whatever it will be) for 5 hours of gameplay. Ugh.
Wait for Black Friday or Christmas deals. Should be 25-40 bucks.
Next Battlefield...... Battlefield WW2 - Pacific Theatre of War!!!! PLEASE DICE PLEASE!
Matthew Tyler I would play the living hell out of it.
October 2019 Pacific for us in Bfv
I loved this campaign, I think it’s one of the best campaigns I played, loved how they mostly sticked to the story and realism in ww2 then just gameplay. Better story then Fallout 4
About to piss off lots of people but COD WW2 campaign > Battlefield 1 campaign for real
Yep, thats true, but battlefield 1's mp is better.
colaman NWG, cuz of less content, true, but immersion, the first mission was not that scary, and more getting fucked in veteran where ur platoon m8s doesnt watch ur own back.
Juben Domli Balandra the only good campaign mission for BF1 is the opening when you die all the time. Every other mission is way too easy even on the hardest difficulty and the only creative thing was a flamethrower trooper that's a little harder to kill
colaman NWG, tried veteran in the singleplayer? why not play the multiplayer for the hardest difficulty then, teamplay my ass.
Juben Domli Balandra veterans hard as fuck that's why it says you will not survive when you chose the difficulty bud
Enjoyed this game so much. Haven’t bought a call of duty game since ghosts and I’m not one to defend cod, but this game is good, I would defiantly recommend
Why is everyone hating on these graphics?? They're fucking incredible for the most part
SKULLRAIDER they look good from far away, when tou get close, the texture are garbage.
Devgru46 I mean, so do battlefields
SKULLRAIDER really not as much as this. Pretty much every cod game suffer from this, probably because they are still using an extremely outdated Qake engine.
They are pretty to look at, sure, but the physics are way off and nothing feels like it has weight. This is mostly due to the fact that they are still using a modified version of the Quake engine that was used to make the original CoD.
its still a heavily modified quake 3 engine and is still limited by that engine.
thats why you dont see really large open battle fields, why vehicle physics are screwed and why there is still no projectile modeling
This is a really good and well balanced review. I'm not much of a CoD guy these days, but I was very interested in the single player campaign on this one. Thanks for filling me in on the details LC.
I was hoping for some more content on the campaign than just the American side of the war...
Dark Ages welcome to western culture I hope you enjoy your stay where we don’t promote non-western countries in our games
The campaign was good but I wish it was deeper. There were a lot of missed opportunities for decision making like in black ops 2 which would have made the story a lot more interesting.
Someone do an Asian Front (Chinese vs Japanese for example) the Chinese had more casualty than any Nation except the Soviet Union
HITCHHIKE THE WORLD actually, the Chinese had even more
because they're racist, jk idk.
Guilherme Velhote I hope you're joking
Hey LevelCap will you make some content on the multiplayer? I loved all of your BF4 content!
This was honestly one the best cod campaigns in a long time
Josh Saptho right. I just beat it on veteran and really enjoyed it and the voice acting was on point
Just remember Charlie, there's only one DDAY and there's only one way it went down, so yeah there's gonna be some resemblance
not 1440p yet ;(
I feel like the developers watched saving private ryan once and were like “let’s just do that”
At least it’s a slightly better campaign then Battlefield one’s travesty.
Cntrol100 who had the less fibrous diet.
It is a little bit dull in a sense you just shoot bad guys as they are laid out in front of you. There is no space for mistakes or freedom to do things differently. Shoot the guy shooting you and move on as the tunnel design of maps leads you. Which id dissapointing.
No german perspective :(
cracktober Black female germans
come play battlefield 5, you get to drive a tiger I shooting brits in tobruk and be a luftwaffe pilot shooting down the RAF over hamburg
@@katraconnor8451 the last tiger is one of the most amazing campaigh missions in fps games to this day it was breathtaking. the story just wonderful
Ottoman Empire unfortunately there were no tigers in 1941, especially not in Africa, they were needed in Russia
@@katraconnor8451 needs money too bad
What was cool about MOHAA was you thought you would get to play Omaha beach right away but then you have to fight in North Africa and Italy first and when you finally get to Normandy you appreciate it more.
Devs "we're gonna play attention to detail" first mission I play I see a fuckin German soldier using a PPSH
PPSHs were Germany's 2ne most used SMGs. Lots of soviet PPSHs were captured and the germans loved using em, and there is a possibility some were used there
The Germans loved the PPsH, so much so that they actually made a rechambered one and issued it to their troops. Stop being an idiot and complaining about shit that actually IS historically accurate
Cian Mc Swiney stfu goof
Cian Mc Swiney I shouldn't see 8 soldiers with a PPSH on the first mission in the campaign
The Mexicano Show well there was a lot more than 8 PPsH's on the beach at D-Day :^)
I felt like that dealt with racism in a decent way in the campaign, if Daniels was prejudice towards Howards, the black guy, we as the player could no longer root for him, but if he was super progressive and treated him like everyone else, it would come off as super unrealistic, especially him being a farmboy from Texas. Having him be shocked, then kind of get used to being around Howards was a good compromise.
Still looks ugly as fuck compared to any frostbite game
markus juusela I mean not really, at all... I'd say in some aspects the frostbite engine looks better and plays better, but it varies. For instance. I think explosions on FB3 look much better than the COD engine, but in terms of character model, I think cod wins
The quick time events were awesome and the tank part was sorta weird with controls but the plane part was my favorite. U have to think that this is not battlefield, so that means it's not supposed to be all about vehicles. Call of duty is about close quarters combat not big maps. They did the best they can with the vehicle controls
huh first time i heard someone that actually likes QTE's in games, i personally hates those cause they take you out of the action to do some bullshit scripted animation, in my opinion that is just lazy done for gameplay.
You gotta love when its a COD video, the comments are just negative and critisize the game.
How about we go to another game a just look at the negative stuff about it.
Honestly can we just look at the great thing about this game, its ww2, boots in the ground and graphics are good. Campaign was really good. Mulitplayer is okay. Zombies is also good.
Yeah despite being riddled with huge historical inacuracies it was a decent campaign
Gdude2k G
True, but in al honesty games cant be 100% accurate all the time.
Markus Crause zombies and mp suck
All the cod games are boots on the ground
Chris Jr how so?
For those who have been playing games for long enough, doesn't that first mission remind you of Medal Of Honour Allied Assault...
I can't ignore it, it's legitimately the exact same
This was their chance to become a more realistic title, and they blew it.
Caged Lemp y should cod be realistic
I doubt they ever intended this to be more realistic than previous CoD titles.
No matter what it will never be realistic its cod it doesn’t have to be realistic just fun
Cod is an arcade shooter by genre, no realism
anothersettlement No it shouldn't
Hey LevelCap, love your stuff man, been watching for a while, you were the one who motivated me to purchase squad, loved it ever since, your bf1 loadout vids are great too. just wanted to ask what difficulty you played on and if you've played through on harder difficulties? i've played cod since the very beginning, and cod 2 being my alltime fave i too was stoked to see a ww2 cod coming. i usually play through first time on hard doing a second run on veteran, cod games are notoriously easy (accessible) but that never was a problem as the higher difficulties always felt solid giving enemies better aim and a little stronger a punch, however it felt different in this one. i watched as allies stood by aimlessly wandering as enemies swarmed my position brainlessly. fine okay, that's understandable sometimes AI is a little weird and this was true for past cod games as well. however towards the end there is a part where you take cover from enemy fire following a tank as rockets and mortars are providing meaningful incentive to move forward. on hard these mortars consistently 1 shot you, and were seemingly only controlled by RNG. I have a 5 minute footage segment where in disbelief i die immediately after checkpoint respawn by unknown sources, i could be wrong and these were rockets i was missing but i don't believe so. this happened in a couple different spots but this one was a solid 5-10 minutes of me respawning and trying to figure out how to defeat this foe. much love, have to agree with you though it felt like a solid story and is probably one of the better looking games i've played. love the channel man!
I don't understand why they didn't include African and Italian campaigns
MJ They wanted to focus on the western front of the war
The Americans fought in Africa and Italy dumbass
MJ, lol true xD
I think what call of duty is missing nowadays is the risk. Like back in the days of world at war or modern warfare you weren't such a "super soldier". The stakes were high at every turn and you never really knew what would happen next, and the characters mattered to you. More recently in Cod, there's no real risk because you know everything is going to be fine since you're the badass of the game.
Plz review the zombies next
LOL pls don't levelcap probably last played zombies in WAW he's not cut out for it
Honestly he isn't even cut out for a review on this game he should just go back to doing bull shit squad up videos with his boyfriends
I did really like the campaign i think the main protagonist was a bit plain but still enjoyed it but my favorite all time cod campaign is black ops 1, it just felt like a perfect campaign
Are you serious? Engaging? Well written?? I have never played worst campaign in my life (And I played Ghosts). The story is so stereotypical and it lacks any immersion. Even when you think there is a good part of gameplay, the game decides to take the control off your hands and slaps you with a ton of cutscenes. It's like a bad interactive movie, the only ok part is Zombie mode.
Jonnathan Webber its his opinion respect it
Jonnathan Webber lol
Yeah, I don't get his opinions/views as well. I was like "what?" when he said that.
If I compare this game to COD 1, 2, 5 (WaW), this game lacks WW atmosphere and immersion. I didn't feel like WW2 soldier at all in this game... the surroundings is silent, you can't hear any weapons, mortars and flags firing, planes flying over or anything like that. It is just... boring. And don't get me started on those weapon sounds..
What the fuck happened here? How can they fuck up so bad with the team and money they have? Sound engineers should get fired or they should learn from more experienced guys.
To be fair, this campaign was definitley better than InfinityWar and Ghosts. CoD:WW2 SP is ok nothing more but also nothing less. Imo, the main problem is the lack of risk taken by the devs.
I respect it. I was saying my opinion too.
Just finished it, really enjoyed it and the tank level was worth all of it! It's too bad they couldn't implement tanks into mp somehow but maps would have to be so much bigger.
I was in love with the AA and plane missions too
0:27 he wasted 1 bullet he reloaded 5 😂😂😂
Nik Vas, yeah, rather play bf1 with realistic reloads.
Juben Domli Balandra beo ur profil pic is from mimecraft... u cant say anything about realism :/
Nik Vas, cuz i dont want to remove this old pic of mine, this was one of my old pics that i mistakenly deleted, and plus this pic wont be saved in the gallery, you dont judge people by their looks. look at their bright side, i've played realistic games like Project Reality, didnt got to play with the other ones cuz im fucking poor, so go find urself a girlfriend.
I know that D-Day missions are repetitive and obligatory but it never gets old. I really liked the COD 2 D-Day mission when you have to climb the ridge, it was different from the standard D-Day, and the mission after that when you have to defend agains the germans and are falling back over the same map that you adanced through in the D-Day mission, that was cool too.
COD is the hemorrhoid on the ass of the world
Nope that would be North Korea
Nope
DEVMAR 3815 you know you can have two hemorrhoids, right?
Spethman Jones that’s not true I got 3 now
For the record, you do know that when the D-Day invasion took place it was soldiers in landing crafts, then pushing up the beaches, in many cases using bangalores, and then on to clear out pill-boxes, don't you? It's not a Spielberg or game designer fantasy, it's what actually happened over 50 years before Saving Private Ryan was made and 70 years before this game.
With that said, thanks for the thorough review.
-Cheers
COD campaigns stopped being good after black ops
Jim explain sheep
5:13 is that a Swastika?!? *DEMONITIZED*
Even on console the quick time’s took me out of the game. Line up the thingy with the target, miss hitting the right button. Do it again, ready this time, oh it’s a different fuckin button this time....are you kidding me!? Lol
My biggest issue is only fighting on one front, and the flying was really bad which was annoying
shitty old graphics, same shitty cod-ness, will not buy.
Isaac Torres Go be a good little fanboy and spam typical CoD player insults somewhere else
Creature Plays Games 😂
Except the graphics aren't shit. And the gameplay is still the same, they've added great things to make itresting. WW2 is overall a solid game tbh. Besides multiplayer. Its not that good.
Peter Battle " old graphics " explain kid, this game is at 1080p on my ps4 explain.
You mean art style????
Garrett Howard Never heard of your "PS4 explain". "Graphics" aren't bad, but they aren't close to being up to date either. In fact it's the engine that doesn't allow for more, though they pushed the envelope. 3D Animator here.
The graphics upgrade they did is amazing I will definitely get this COD2 HD remaster version
Unpopular opinion but BO3 was my favourite campaign. Soundtrack, character development and the plot idea for me was great. Granted it's probably a bad campaign for cod but if you remove it from the franchise it's a great story. The future relevancy of the story also appealed to me.
BO3 had a great campaign, no doubt in my opinion.
You're not alone bud yD
Parniij It still sucked. It was too long, characters suck, it had nothing to do with the black ops franchise the name bo3 was only used for marketing, the ending was stupid as hell and they tried to put a psychological plot twits in the end but failed miserly. Worst campaign ever
Parniij if you think Bo3 campaign was good, then you need to get a therapy done. Shit didn’t even make sense.
Tej Patel "a therapy"
BO3 had a crap campaign.
When your watching Daniels get his ass kicked for 2 minutes
Cod CoD CoD CoD you're booring
2:28 Its like Saving Private Ryan because thats what really happened! Thousands of men were on the landing crafts, and when they reached land and the ramps dropped, most of the men were dead before they got off the boats. Its not like they copied the movie, its just what happened.
Yes, it seems similar, but it's just what really happened.
TLDR: BF1 is 10x better than this game
Long version:
I thought the campaign was really meh, and this largely stems from the poor writing. Being an excellent writer myself, I find it hard to enjoy FPS dialogue anymore. Nevertheless, whoever wrote the script for this game is exceptionally poor at writing believable characters, and creating any sense of suspense, (genuine)emotion or urgency in their voice acting. While this is often the fault of terrible acting, unfortunately, the writers and actors work in concert to make this story wholly bland. The enemies are endless and the combat takes decades. Also the gunplay is just bad. This goes for both MP and Campaign. No auto-regen in campaign is a big letdown. When your franchise literally INVENTS that, you should stick to it, not debatable.
Now, lets talk about why BF1 is so much better. First off, if you think the campaign is way better in ww2, you should not be taken seriously because it simply isn't and here's why.
First, its not written by a 15 year old who just watched Band of Brothers (very good show btw). There are several points in the campaign that were beautifully emotional in many ways. If you don't believe me, watch the end of the Avanti Savoia campaign mission set and tell me you didn't feel something. The characters are immediately made easy to root for and their actions are believable and their stories are well rounded and investing.
Second, the multiplayer is still the king. This is for A LOT of reasons. One of these being the infinite sprint. I know that's not a CoD thing, but it's a noticeable downgrade in ww2 MP without it. There's a TON of weapons. There's a billion ways to melee people, and the sniping actually takes some skill (not a lot, but its a damn sight better than the CoD trash). The gunplay (as mentioned earlier) is varied and doesn't feel like a copy of MW3 or Black ops 3. It's just a Black ops 3 reskinned into a ww2 environment, don't lie to yourself.
Seriously, if you want a great way to spend 60 bucks, get BF1. I'm not saying that CoD ww2 is bad, but the fact that people say that BF1 is inferior because the CAMPAIGN is inferior is laughable if not embarrassing for the CoD community. If you are one of those people, go read a book and get some real culture in you and maybe you'll be able to recognize good writing when you see it.
cracktober Fucking perfect😂 I thought the exact same thing as soon as I saw “I’m an excellent writer myself”
Hugh Kelley, agree m8
Hugh Kelley I'm sure the rest of your write up is great, but you lost me at, "Being an excellent writer myself..."
There is no credibility in self-praise
as soon as you said you were an excellent writer yourself your opinion became pointless so i stopped reading and i started to hate you
^actually i read the whole thing and all your points are trash being a GREAT GAMER MYSELF self regen makes a game to easy and having to use health kits adds more to the experience also every sequeal to a game is in some way a reskin with the battlefield series being the biggest reskin of all
The problem with modern Call of Duty games imo is that there are no stakes to any of the campaign. Sure, there's the overlooming threat, but every CoD ends in the good guy wins and the day is saved. None of the characters have any real or developed personalities, and you don't feel any suspense because you know that you're going to win in the end and you're gonna be okay no matter what.
This game sucks ass. Its like an alternate World War II.
It's* a good game
Jacob Stewart ikr but it's cod what do you expect 😜
Jacob Stewart It's world war 2 themed, not world war 2
Alternate World War 2? What would you call alternate about it?
Edian Duarte it is world war 2. Not world war 2 themed
honestly i LOVE the difficulty in D-day when you start, first time i played the gane i died 3 seconds after getting off the boat💀😭💀😭
