This is easily the #1 game I want on Nintendo Switch
Agreed
Yes same
i thought i was the only one...
same
Even just the NHL 94' port would make me happy!
EA is just too lazy to do it. They’re stuck on sucking people dry on other systems and have lost focus. I’d love to see the NHL games on Switch!
Straight to the point! They are losing a HUGE market share. They would be millions buying or downloading this game for their switch guaranteed! I knew I wasn't the only one that felt this way
I'd take a port of NHL 2003 from Gamecube on Switch at this point. All there is on Switch is Bush League Hockey, Super Blood Hockey, Kunio-Kun's Hockey and NES Ice Hockey.
I’m so tired of not having NHL on Switch. NBA 2K is a big success on the system. NHL would too.
I’m itching for nhl on my switch. I feel so bummed when I leave my ps5 and can’t play nhl
Actually, EA *already has* the money to make NHL better and make NHL for the Switch. They have made billions of dollars through Ultimate Team transactions alone. The reason why they aren't making their games better or porting Madden and NHL to the Switch, is because EA are petty with their money! They don't want to spend their revenue. They are purposely making their sports games lower budget than NBA 2K and/or MLB The Show, so that they can make more money that they'll never spend to make their games actually better! EA doesn't care! We're never getting PC or Switch ports for NHL 22, no matter how much we ask them to do so. Why can't anyone else make hockey games?
Hier in Europa wollen wir auch NHL für die SWITCH!
Los EA, her damit!
Man I only buy Nintendo consoles but I want a somewhat new (newer than 2010 NHL Slapshot) NHL game soooo bad that I'm literally debating buying a console just to play NHL. This is so frustrating and if an NHL game could come to switch I will finally be happy
100% this!
I don't even need the newest engine (some serious franchise mode mechanics will be important, though!); just having a semi-serious [nhl-]hockey game on the switch would be great.
Heck: they could rehash some late 90's/early 2000s engine and I would buy that sh!t; if these greedy f&€£s don't expect me to pay 60€ for *that!*
But EA is just lazy.
Why ever invest, why actually develop a game, when your money making sheme can just be rode out year after year with zero risk to it?
HUT whales probably make them the mist money, anyway (i); basically feeding predatory tactics very similar to those gambling sites like to tap into!
As long as there is no semi serious competition or lawmakers catch up to the immoral practices (lootboxes, etc. is gambling marketed to children, basically! Imagine the outcry, if tobacco companies took the same twisted approach...) and outright forbid it, the profit margins with hut are just too large, for EA to actually give an eff to rethink their sheme. Until then their game *obstructs this nieche,* and we can change nothing about that...
* gnashes teeth *
i) way more, than the "there's not enough of a market" excuse likes to acknowledge; hut makes them tons of money, then those lazy [...]s turn around and pretend they had nothing to work with!
The only NHL game I have is NHL 99 that came out on the Nintendo 64. My dad and I are both huge hockey fans, and it makes me really upset to see MLB, NBA, FIFA, and Wrestling on Switch, why not have NHL? It makes me really upset
I have fallen in love with hockey in the past year, and have loved playing nhl on my Xbox , but I would love to play it on the switch. Please EA and Nintendo
I would be happy if next NHL game would be released on Switch. There are few hockey games on this console, a big shame.
Something about contracts and Nintendo. Since the Wii, EA found Nintendo lackluster in sales and underperforming outlook. But with the switch popularity, they need to revisit sports..
the major issue I can only assume, is that they don't want to bring a sports game to a console who's primary market place is Japan. Baseball is massive in Japan. ice hockey isn't. 😢
The switch has been the best selling console for multiple months in the past year. A large amount of that driven by North American consumers, I think they'd have pretty decent sales if they did port it.
@@erinkonrad7370 oh I absolutely agree with you and you're 100% right about the sales figures for not only North America but the Switch was the best selling console in the UK/Europe too for a while.
However, my belief is that these don't do much to counter Nintendo (a Japanese company) making decisions which don't make cultural sense to THEM. I mean, look at how little they did for Zelda's anniversary DESPITE how amazingly successful it is as a franchise GLOBALLY 😮💨
is basketball soccer and golf big over there ?
I would even buy NHL Rewind it would be top of the charts in Canada guaranteed
My one son who is bit by the hockey bug bad plays switch exclusively ask me constantly why it's not on there. It sucks cuz it improve ur hockey sense playing it and even though we have ps4 and xbox he only plays games on the switch.
A portable NHL game makes too much sense for EA to do it
It is also regrettable that ice hockey is not officially released in countries where it is not popular.
This seems to be a problem because nhl is a monopoly.
If we release it in the PC version, we can solve the problem we have, but ea has no intention of releasing the game in the PC version.
I need NHL on PC or switch honestly, I don’t wanna drop money on a ps5 just to continue playing NHL
I wish there was an NHL game for switch. Not one yearly, just one. But, in the end, if EA refuses to release it, they lose my money. And I save my money for better stuff. So, poetic justice, I guess😎
I couldn’t agree more. We are fully invested into the Nintendo ecosystem. Nintendo Ice Hockey is what I play on the switch, the one from the 80s. I miss playing the EA NHL games.
tbh im thinking about selling my ps5 and buying a switch but the only game that i really want to play is nhl. Feels like i cant leave my ps5 because i really like it
I read a article like a year ago that they were going to release it then they axed it. It makes no sense!
Which Xbox is series S. Is that the online only?
They also use to make it For the PC But have stopped that as well. Annoys the heck out of me.
What about SteamDeck? Will be possible to play NHL23?
Heck, what about Madden or NCAA Football? There’s loads of sports game that could land on Switch but legal BS is probably the big hurdle.
nhl 07 on psp was last portable hockey game, EA suck
tbh this is the main reason i look at stuff like the steamdeck or those other 3rd party mobile gaming hardware
I found this video because I was looking for the answer why I cant find NHL hockey on the Nintendo Switch Lite!
or madden not on switch\
It’s possible that EA has a contract with Microsoft and Sony that the game will only be made for their consoles. That way they sell more consoles. That’s the only reason I can think of. Even if the CPU etc isn’t advance enough in the Switch they should easily be able to water down the graphics for the system.
Hi, how do you download nhl because eshop didn't allow me?
It's not on the switch unfortunately
its 2023 and we still dont got NHL on switch or PC
I saw someone port fifa 18 on the vita. I bet the same guys can port nfl 10 or higher on the vita 😎
I also want twisted metal on switch too and this
Perhaps on Nintendo switch 2 ?
"so much power" lmaoo
There hasn't been a PC NHL for the past 14 years and there are definitely more PC players willing to buy NHL than switch owners. There must be something else behind this and I actually think it's an MS-SONY cartel paying EA a decent buck not to release their major sports games outside the main consoles to increase demand for them.
Are there even any other hockey games on Switch?
Very few. I recommend Super Blood Hockey.
I totally agree with you.
I Love Nhl Games, and i 100% agree
I agree with anything you said JH
Not a 13-15 year old, but would indeed buy a NHL game on switch.
I really want an NHL SLAPSHOT sequel on switch, that game was my Jam back on the Nintendo Wii
The answer is EA is pure lazy and this will require doing work hence why the current games are constantly copy and paste . But honestly I’d be happy with NHL game styled like 1994 with modern rosters but with added features like season modes ,trading players , create players and stuff like that .
Playin NHL portable i would fuckin love that shit
I just have a switch and I want nhl so bad:(
At the end of the gameplay trailer i swear i heard the switch click
I think EA needs to be dropped, you go back to old developers like 2k who are also super money hungry but make sense of that money such as how you used to be able to drive the Zamboni. Little things like the anthems playing before the game would be amazing
Every singe word you said in this was 100% true
Not on Steam either.
broooooo i knew i wasnt the only one
Completely agree with you
We need to make it happen! Pllllleasssee Nintendo
Ik it stupid and a joke cause I was gonna put nhl 22. On there then it’s was not on there I was like they are stupid for not putting in for switch
Nintendo switch has bush league hockey and the very 1st ICE hockey game from Nintendo in the 80s
Wtf, so lame!!+
He is spitting facts
I don't even care if it looked like ass. My purchase is already made the second they announce it.
Totally agree
1000% agree
OK, maybe EA is really evil corp but hey, real problem is licensing. We have seen it with FIFA. Maybe i am wrong but license for NHL players and teams is not cheap. Morever start it on an another platform would be more problem in this stage where everybody wants more money for their name on successful system with so many players as Nintendo has. Of course, it could be solved but why make a waves if your company has sucesfull trademarks on viable platform?
Aw man I need it sooooo bad.
I would buy nhl on switch
I want NHL 24 and 22 just to be on switch how hard is it to they just need to put it on Nintendo switch
Fr bro
At least fifa is on switch
I just picked up fc24 because binjust wanted a good sports game and it was clear NHL wasn't coming. It's pretty good and will keep me entertained
go off king
1 year later... still no NHL on switch! stupid EA sports!
The Nintendo is too small to handle
madden in nintendo
Cuz hockey has relatevly small market
facts
Ik I’m 24 I wanna lay in bed drink a few beer and play CHL on switch take my money
not enough of a market i would believe. most switch games are Nintendo exclusives. think this way, only Canadians and a fraction of Americans watch hockey so having this on switch it wouldn’t be worth their time and investment.
I'm German and I think you are wrong.
If it wasn't for Super Nintendo (SNES), who knows if I would have ever become a fan of the NHL (maybe ... being an US exchange student 2001/02 did play a role, also); and I feel like it's the same for others, also.
We are not talking about a difficult to market, hyper-situational game like baseball here; and even thoae seem to sell!
The narrative "noone cares outside canada" is just patently wrong; a comnon excuse by lazy EA and their fanboys.
It's just easier to milk HUT-whales (basically: the same predatory noney making sheme gambling sites employ!), and never really invest in development ever again...
@@PyrrhoVonHyperborea as a Marketing student I respectfully have to disagree. Its great to hear your story but you are just a fraction. For a company focusing on the majority of consumers, thats just the way that it is. The statistics don’t lie for the majority of people even if there are a good amount of outliars. For them its all about profit and $$$
@@chromeposites so you are some marketing expert, huh? (Or even just a failed student?)
There's a name for this:
it's called "argumentum ad autoritatem" (or "appeal to authority") and it's a logical fallacy.
There is a market for hockey games outside north america -- you never addressed that argument, to resort to sophistry instead; "cool story, bro" is also just an ad hominem, basically.
Baseball has no fans outside north america -- for some reason though, it's still being given multiple renditions on the switch. Maybe Japan factors into that, but it would still be nieche, once the rest of the world factors in, including the huge european market.
There are hockey crazed nations out there, outside NA, and it worked out tremendously in the past (i), for selling games. (Btw.: PCs may even be more prevalent over here, compared to consoles)
They just need to convert the game, and there are even development studios specializing in that; the marketing itself would be practically for free, as a mere addendum to the already existing adverts... It's a free market, untapped potential! It's nuts, not to tap into that!
Why no PC version? Why no Switch version? There is no rational argument for that lapse, *especially not* from a marketing perspective, mr. "I'm the expert on this"...
Claims are cheap.
As is ignoring actual arguments being made to instead divert and resort to lowly sophistry...
"The statistics don't lie" my ass! There aren't even statistics for how well a game like this would sell these days, as they *don't even try!*
The real issue is, how well their gambling-addiction target audience could be milked on other platforms. It's easier on closed systems (hence no PC), and nintendo as they largely advertise to families and children is a lot more stingy to allow such predatory tactics on their syatem, in fear of bad press! (But they became more lenient on tgat in recent years, which makes the non-cinversion even more mind boggling!)
You are just a wheeze of hot air...
"Marketing student", lol!
Good chuckle you gave me there!
i) the SNES days are fondly remembered by many hockey fans to this day; those games did sell! What's that in terms of "statistics don't lie"?! Or do _authorities on the matter,_ like *marketing students* like yourself, only care for the non-specified, vaguely hinted at "statistics", that -- allegedly -- suit their bias, whilst disregarding sales numbers as neglectable? Strange marketing philosophy you have there...
There's actually a petition on Change Org
