I wouldn’t mind the goal animations if they only happened for milestone goals; like first NHL goals, 60 goals, stuff like that, so that it makes it more special
I like it but maybe have it to where stats show up like career goals
Not just that but they need to rework the team celebrations like it needs to flow more smoothly into the new celebrations besides them just skating emotionless like zombies behind the scoring player.

Looks fun honestly. I am also not a fan of the cinematic shot after a goal though. They finally made it so you celebrate with your linemates after a goal and now it is gone 🤣

that light effect before the opening faceoff is actually very similar to what the oilers actually do. Pretty cool to see them adding the little details now. they honestly make a big difference
It’s the same for all teams just with different logos. I’m a Dallas fan and the light green they use is so hard on the eyes when taking the draw.

I think the pressure overlay on the ice is pretty hidious, tbh It would be nice if there was a way to turn it off. And the system itself seems like its gonna be kinda problematic. The ai also seems to be kinda off, defense is looking super odd
They can have this in the corner somewhere or in the overlays on top on where the scores are and not on the ice
I like how the game is looking from what I've seen so far. Edit: The pressure system seems broken tho
Pressure system is the most easy thing to tweak. If enough people complain and have the same sympathy's than it will feel different come by January 2024. I'm not worried tbh. EA fucked up by not doing line changes for 6s and 3s though. It would make the pros/cons of the pressure system more realistic.

Either good. It should be easy to fix whenever fans feel it's messing up the game. They'll probably tweak it going into 2024.

I can already tell the pressure system is gonna get abused in higher HUT divisions. It's gonna be constant ragging in the offensive zone until you either chase the puck carrier to the corner or let the pressure bar fill up.
They fixed that, you can't build pressure by just skating/passing the puck. You have to take shots/make hits to fill the bar.

Idk man. I'm just not a fan of making things that took skill & hours of perfecting (dekes, deke goals, passing) a single button. Takes away ever feeling amazed or shocked at a goal or pass cause it takes minimal skill

This was almost 100% an accurate depiction of a Edmonton Oilers hockey game, dominate for 80% of the game then almost lose in the last 20% when the goalie decides to lay an egg. NHL 24 is extremely realistic.
I'm not a huge fan of the cutaway celebrations, hockey is a team sport and the individual celebration just feels wrong
i love how nasher, even though he has been around on yt for while hasn't seen the big 1 million subs, and seems to love what he does.
NHL needs to up their marketing strategy of how great the game is these days. Mostly how they schedule primetime matchups and playoff games. Especially now with McJesus just entering his prime, and Bedard finally playing in the league. Get the game more popular, maybe 2k picks up chel again since espn finally did, and get Nasher to 1M.
It’s Hockey bro. America has 4 sports and Hockey was always last even during Gretzkys time.
It’s the funnest game but cost 1000’s of dollars to play.

Only thing my mom could afford was tape and replacement blades for my stick..I was always the best player on my team, varsity as a freshman with a team full of ringers. I played 1 game, scored 1 goal, and never played since..

Big world of chl player here, the 2 changes that would make chl 24 the best in years is:
1. Having the option to control the AI player (Like an ANY in FIFA pro clubs). That option would be game changing. It’s frustrating how the AI helps win/loss games.
2. Customizing the AI’s names. It’s enough of this Tony Jackson, Jeff Lee, Amar Gill, Derek Saunders, Andy Slater, Jerome Murphy bullshit (to name a few).
Is this too much to ask for?
Interested to see what everyone’s feedback is that plays world of chl.
I'm assuming that new goal celebration animation will also play on empty net goals which would just feel strange. I wish you could opt for no goal celly or a subtle fist bump with teammates
Yeah. It's probably the only thing I can really complain about(that isn't being fixed before release.) It's just a way for the game/players to show off the stupid EASHL gear no one cares about lol. Gonna make the toxic players REAL toxic.
This is NHL 23.25. Barely any changes to how it looks. Maybe it plays slightly better but this seems like it could have just been a large update/patch. Disappointing as always EA

Hey Nasher, Love you man; since you probably have a lot of influence due to your clout from amazing content, could you put in a significant word to EA about the importance of quick menu transitions for us GM Mode players. You could suggest to them to create a low profile menu mode which could reduce the menu transition times for users that want to play through GM mode with speed due to muscle memory and quick option selection. They could generate the low profile menu mode by reducing the fancy animations and other sauce that occurs during menu clicking.
this is a much needed QoL change that the whole game needs
A way to solve the celebration theatrics would be to make it appear only if you hit a celly button. If it's not pressed it's just a normal team celebration, or give an option where you can shut it off. Also it would be nice to have a gap between goal and cut scene. Like, give it 5 seconds before it cuts instead of right away.
going to oilers games all the time, they do have those lights just like that but not to the extent of chel.
Still no goalie intro?? That was one of the primary complaints of 2023.. We can see how EA really doesnt listen to what the fans/buyers of this game ask for

The intro for the Oilers is their actual intro with the blue and orange lights with the oilers logo in Irl kinda of flashy if I'm being honest but the little details are incredible .
I actually like those desperation saves. People who don't know the rap arounds will have a 1/4 trap coming there way. Like the poke checks and hip checks. Makes it easier to defend.
I know it's not a big thing, but I wish they'd change the goalie skates. Most goalies don't use cowlings anymore. If it's as small as being able to choose between cowling or no cowling that'd be fine with me. Again not a huge thing, but would be a small pleasing aesthetic to have in the game. Leather straps on the pads too. I think Fleury might be the only one with leather straps all the way up. The Bauer pads in the game are the only ones that don't have leather straps on them.

They should make the sky hook based on energy and pressure level. Like if there’s 0 pressure and your player has energy he’ll flip it out no problem. But if they have full pressure it should be a little whiff like it is now

For the goal animation it should give you like 3 seconds of control to pick your celebration and then you start the celebration and after the 3 cuts to mid celebration with whatever you picked
the one issue i have with the current state of the pressure system, is when you're playing 3v3 world of chel, and face teams that will just rag the puck in your zone and wait until they get that perfect shot, how easy will it be for the pressure system to fill up and make my tendie do stupid stuff. Like if i'm staying in position the entire time and not giving them much of a chance is it still gonna make it easier for them and make it harder for me to control the tendie at all?

One thing that pisses me off and comes off very last lazy by EA is players on their new teams not having their pictures updated. There is no reason why Ivan Barb doesn't have his VGK picture instead of his st.louis blues picture. Many other players have that going on
This kind of reminds me of 06 with the fact that even though your goalie was laying down you can still get robbed

The passing system is something they should’ve been had already (older games, especially NBA games had this system for passing) The pressure system can work but they have to tweak it (if not I feel bad for online players cause that will be abused to no end) they have to give the player(s) a chance to kill the pressure a little bit easier and I know goalies make wild saves but I dont think they flop all over and not be able to get back up quick enough (and yes some can and cant but) to make another attempt to save it but it was realistic to an extent. But the play looks smooth and crisp and what glitch in the matrix is this that EA is ACTUALLY LISTENING TO THE PLAYERS and that alone I think is a win.
I was waiting for the glass to break or somewon gets hit into the bench but it never happend 😢

the visual effects on the ice take me away
from the realism they have been trying to
achieve for years. The pressure system can
be in effect without the meter being visual
on the ice. It could be added to the boards.

Wow, NHL 08 still holds up.
It shows a decent online experience with some interesting upgrades but the WWE style celebrations don't fit the game anywhere else but online and we had this just not so flashy or immersion breaking. Plus, for the second year in a row another true NHL experience is still missing with actual full presentation. It's sad to see something so simple being removed and left out once again. Also, were is the dynamic stats from last that they added. They seemed to have been removed the from the game and nothing was put in place to replace it from this gameplay (I guess those stats are not important anymore?). This game seems to be formed more into an arcade experience over a simulation one, catering almost solely to a fast and fun online experience only, which is fine but then just make an online only game with a something like football manager added as a side option for people who like to sim seasons, instead of a cut and paste experience that seemly has no real identity.

The button passing is from an older game 08 or 09 I think, 07 used the right stick for passing but that'll be a new feature in 25.

Maybe I've just aged out of videos games, or chel, but I find this game to be so boring. So little felt exciting. 1 button dekes murdered creativity. The AI (at F, D & G) are so useless/bad. It lacks substance. Creativity.
Way (way) to many penalties. Poking is so bad. Stick lifting could not be more useless
Hitting sucks. You either nudge a guy (half the time i get cross checking???) or have to take a 100ft run at them (& get charging) to crush them. Hip check is so busted

Looks fun! I feel like Superstar has always been frustrating, you can be 5 goals ahead, and then the computer just goes demon mode and scores every shot.
Try better and listen to the coach stop taking silly penalties and helping the defence out more or do what I do and just destroy players and beat everyone up 😂

I think EA need to try and stop doing too much. add simple things like : coaches challenge, fix goal celebration's, fans, refs, and stronger

I dont see a reason for coaches challenges. In real life there is human error, whereas the games have exact conditions and can always get offsides correct. That would just be introducing errors and make the games less fun from a players perspective imo.
@@andersalstrup3077 agreed yes. However some goals that are disallowed/allowed are kinda skeptical. Some are kicking or goalie interference. They could add a rare chance of referee error as well that some plays are called onside but they’re offside. It would be cool to see EA add that

They should add home and away on rivals so ur logo goes on ice with them light affects and jersey and logo creations including stadium creation on hockey ultimate team
The lights are pretty accurate, I’m pretty sure they only turn them on after a goal is scored and puckdrop is at centre though

I genuinely wish they would rework the faceoffs....like faceoffs in the nhl are never that clean...not to mention you cant even get kicked out of the circle..also add some new faceoff cameras like on tv like do something....the goal celebrations honestly look terrible...theyre very robot like...absolutely no emotion in the team only in the scoring player...and its absolutely 100% choppy and just poorly done. Alot of ea's issues are just VERY VERY VERY poor attention to detail. Like bro they havent edited the crowd the refs & coaches especially nor the bench in decades like its time for something new
Best celebration were on playstation2 when you were able to do whatever you want, skate raise left arm, lower it left right arm, dive +++.. it was lot of creativity

Soooo despite the goalie still having an estimated energy level of 75%, he still kicked a BOMB of a rebound out DIRECTLY to the attacker with an open net.
That ‘pressure’ meter goes up WAY too fast. You only need to be in the zone for like 15 seconds. Should be closer to a minute to get it full.
And STILL no net physics when pucks go in…

I get its part of the game but the onetimer is also the hardest shot to stop in the game. Fingers crossed, been playing NHL series since NHL 94 on Sega!
