Great informative content, just one question, what's the differwnce between getting ohsc from agent and ohsc feom university. Which is better than the other?
It highly depends on both the entities. Sometimes, the agents might suggest you to go with a company and a plan because they’re getting a higher commission from them. Just beware of these things and do your due research. Getting it on your own is as easy as calling them up and enquiring the same
@anshulinadelaide Thanks for the reply...I have bought NIB OSHC starting from 1st February next year..I will be arriving in Australia's soil 1 week after my health insurance starts....I have already logged in to my NIB app and it was quite smooth...It is showing that I can start claiming once my period of insurance starts.. Now, I would like to know from you if I need to call them after I reach Australia? And since I can login to my NIB account, does it mean that my account is already activated or there is further activation process needed? Kindly tell also if it is compulsory to get the insurance physical card upon arrival or only using the mobile app is sufficient? And if physical card is needed mandatorily, will I have to pay for the physical card? Kindly do reply to my three questions in brief. Thanks in advance...
@ hey, that sounds great! From what it looks like, you’re all set up and ready to go so you don’t need to call them again. And no, you don’t need the physical card. You’ll have a digital card on your app that you can use at different clinics. You also have the potential to add it in your apple wallet/google wallet and use it conveniently. Just make sure that the expiry of it is till the end of your visa. I’ll give you an example. Let’s say your visa is expiring on the 15th of March of some year and you apply for your 485 visa in January/February, you can continue your health insurance with the same company and the amount will be carried over. Hope you understand! Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!
Hey! I went with AHM and didn’t have any problems whatsoever :) I got a surgery done because I broke my finger and didn’t have to pay a dollar. It would’ve been worth $5,000 otherwise. Other than that, Bupa is also really good and also has a lot of lifetime rewards so yeah, that’s my opinion.
Is it possible that we can pay insurance per annum not for the whole period of staying there? I want to bring my spouse with me so is there any cheaper option because the couple's insurance on OSHC is showing almost 20K for the couple.
I would suggest you to talk to a salesperson or a professional as I really don't have sufficient knowledge about the same. In terms of payment, I can surely say that you can pay the fees for an annum at once.
On an average, in a day...you can probably earn a maximum of $200-250. It will be worth it while you're looking for a paying TFN job, after that, you can do it as a secondary gig :)
So, you can reach out to your agent and ask for the details like your membership number, start date, eligible till….etc. All the providers have an app so you can download the app and try to login with your membership number. That will kill two birds with one stone as you will activate your membership as well :)
I'm sorry but I don't have much knowledge about the cost for oshc with family but as far as I know, OSHC is only for students so you'll have to get separate insurance for the members who aren't students
Hey mate, it’d be easier if you talk to your agent (if you have one) Second alternative is to reach out to your university and they might have some alternatives. Third alternative is to research more about the OSHC companies that I’ve talked about in this video. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Highly depends on your needs. These are the most popular ones out there - Allianz, Bupa, NIB, AHM, and Medibank. Feel free to compare them and go for what suits your needs
Please try to speak louder,
Or lower the music volume.

It depends on what your priorities are but I've heard more about Bupa than CBHS, if I'm being honest
