The reviews say that the prongs on the valve leak but can be replaced with better ones. Yes, one review talked about the cap prong falling out.
I have two 2 gallon Gen 1 cans mounted on my ATV. They came with the pre-government regulated, stupid, safety nozzle things but as I've used them for several years now, looks like it is time to upgrade to these fine metal spouts. At least the Gen 1 models are a bit cheaper than the newer ones.
Definitely a solid upgrade. Before I added the vent and new nozzle I would rarely use the can because it was such a a pain. Now I use it all the time. Thanks for watching.

Question: Why not just use a funnel instead of these nozzles or drilling a hole with another fancy nozzle? To me it seems that the Rotopax is a mod for my vehicle, now do i need to modify the mod? the $ is too much to justify something which will require further engineering to be useful/quicker. Any possible concerns with a funnel that I am missing?
Great question. While you could use a funnel, that will have zero impact on how well the fuel flows out of the rotopax. All a funnel would do is essentially enlarge the hole on your gas tank. You would still have to dink around with the nozzle that comes with the rotopax and I'm not sure you could even get the nozzle to work with a funnel. The nozzles work by pressing them down into the gas tank and doubt you could do that with a funnel in the way. Additionally, a funnel means you now have to carry around a funnel separately from the rotopax. Then you have to clean the funnel unless you want your truck bed smelling like fuel. I agree that these mods are expensive and mention that in the video, but it's the best solution I've come up with and what I'll be using until rotopax comes with a better design.
Also think about trying to quickly pour fuel into a gas tank with a funnel out of a milk jug except the jug is 3 gallons. That's essentially what you would be doing in the scenario you described.

How did you remove the filter/mitigator? I cant seem to get mine out, feel like i would destroy it and then result in my nozzle being unable to be flush.
Mine did not have a filter/mitigator. It just had an open hole. Not sure if we have the same model

@@SixEightOutdoors This is the issue! Everybody bashes on Rotopax (I don't own one yet), recommending jerry cans etc. BUT, we don't' all have the space for a big ass jerry can. When my wife and I go out on 2 week camping trips in our Tacoma (with a Diamondback cover), space can be super limited. Most jerry cans are too tall to fit under the Diamondback cover on the Tacoma... leaving the only option I've found being Rotopax. Mount it on the bedrack, and the extra fuel takes 0 space that would be used for anything else. They definitely don't seem perfect, and are overpriced, but there is 0 competition on the market currently for bedrack-mountable fuel storage.
