Bands are like friends, bands are like you and me - they change with time, but their core remains the same, and if you understand and accept this, life's a lot easier.
I largely prefer old Muse, but the new stuff is really good too. I hear they don't play it because Matt's voice has changed and there is vocal strain. I saw them live this year, and I can say there is just as much energy as there was back then.
muse plays best gigs in france and uk. proof: 2001 - st.malo and le zenith, 2004 - glastonbury, 2006 - reading, 2007 - wembley, 2017 - sheperds bush, 2018 - la cigale paris.
Dude, c'mon, The Beatles went from Hard Days Night to Sgt. Pepper and even Nirvana went on from Bleach to In Utero and Radiohead went from Pablo Honey to OK Computer and/or even In Rainbow, lets just accept the fact that Muse evolving from Showbiz era to 2nd Law.. Those bands are all visionary, cutting edge and dynamic in all range of composing and arranging..
I wouldn't say that their new stuff are better than their first 4-5 albums, radiohead i feel was the best around ok computer, nirvana was the best in the end, beatles were the best in the end
The thing I love about Muse is, they're constantly changing and experimenting with their music. Some say their most recent album was too "mainstream" and that they had lost there touch. I disagree. They're just trying new things. As a matter of fact, what was so cool about The Resistance was that almost the entire album was inspired by the book "1984", I'm sure whatever album they release next will be a lot different from what we've heard thus far.
@DisguiseDK In a way I agree that Muse was better in the past (incredible setlists and songs, energy), but I also love the band now. It's different, because they are different. They are becoming one of the most famous bands in the world, so they must satisfy everyone - not only their first fans. So we can't expect songs like Dead Star or Micro Cuts anymore. For me this is perfectly natural - even if I sometimes miss songs like that. Anyway, they are still the best live, no matter what they play.
@ddsunburn Muse are still great, and they are even better than is the past. They were 20 years old, now they are 30, they have more maturity than before and they have changed like everyone, that's all, but some people just can't accept it.
@MuseLiveVideos I agree, I'd also like to add that it's BECAUSE of their expansion that they're my favorite band. It's definitely true that I prefer the older, heavier stuff, but the new stuff is still amazing. All of the songs they write have thought and that's what really matters. It all sounds great.
@MuseLiveVideos I agree with you! personally, I love the old muse but now they are also great!! They're an international famous band, and they must satisfy all their funs! And now adays are 33 years old not 20! I really love these songs but also I love songs like exogenesis symphony! you need to mature in order to right and synthesize such a great music like that! so we have to accept the fact that Muse always be great ! :) ...and everyone who wants, follow ;)
Everytime Muse preforms Matt blows everyones mind in the audience and they also need to change their pants. Dom fucks the shit out of the drums making most drummers look like 11 year old girls. And Chris takes the bass and throws such a uniqe sound into the mix, also he headbangs the fuck out of every concert
@Rtaceht6, they do play this song still, but very rarely. They played it at one of their concerts in I think it was Japan sometime earlier this year, I'm not sure if they've played it since or how long ago they played it before that.
@MuseLiveVideos yeahh but then people who weren't fans back then, will never get one the most awesome songs of them. in that way i think they should play ofcourse their newer songs..but i think they must still play allot of their older ones. I really love muse but the music they used to make had more energy. never the less they still make fucking good music that i love
@MuseLiveVideos No, some people just can't accept that other people prefer old Muse. It's the same with all bands going pop, some people WILL ALWAYS try and protect the band saying "noooo, caaan't yoooouuu juuust accept chaaaaaange??? )': " - Muse was great -
@DisguiseDK they havnt gone pop :S just because its not heavy doesnt make it pop... they are just as good as ever. my fave album's origin of symmetry.. but i still think theyre the best band out there.
@iHaTeNoooBz it was! but some classic muse elements were removed, for example: why the fuck is not chris bass distorted at most of the songs ( if you count out uprising). and undisclosed disaster is a fucking r'n'b song if you don't listen to matts vocals! BH&R was amazing! now they are taking a step to far!
@DisguiseDK you just took the words out of my mouth , fucking twilight soundtrack,. MTV WORLDSTAGE c'mon people were supposed to understand muse , not the other way arround
@ddsunburn I"m not trying to protect the band. Muse Was great and is Great. because they're not trapped in a loop whole where each album sounds like the one before. they're experimenting and the music reflects their development as a band. and I think the new album would be even more different with Matt getting married and all. versus showbizz Matt was cleaning toilets. if u can't appreciate a band being humans who grow and music reflecting their lives. you sir are not so great.
ppl are never satisfied: if a band stays the same after 30 years, like AC/DC, they are harangued for not changing, but if artists branch out and try something different, like Metallica did, they are called sellouts.
@MuseLiveVideos id rather theyd sacrifice being th most well known band in the world in exchnge for decent setlists. hopefully the new album will be more decent then the resistance
@MuseLiveVideos what im afraid of is that they will try to hard to satisfy everyone, going too poppy and that they use more keyboard and computer bullshit instead of guitars! it happened to a swedish band called Kent. (ima swed) they used to have guitars and basses as heavy as in dead star, and now they nearly never use guitar anymore i rather watch muse make an album that dosen't make as good at the box office then watch them turn to pop
chris is so good at screaming
Bands are like friends, bands are like you and me - they change with time, but their core remains the same, and if you understand and accept this, life's a lot easier.
Chris needs to roar more XD it makes the song even more epic
I largely prefer old Muse, but the new stuff is really good too. I hear they don't play it because Matt's voice has changed and there is vocal strain. I saw them live this year, and I can say there is just as much energy as there was back then.
Chris seems to have taken a few of those vocal strain parts. Like the Micro Cuts chorus.
much better before… 😢
muse plays best gigs in france and uk. proof: 2001 - st.malo and le zenith, 2004 - glastonbury, 2006 - reading, 2007 - wembley, 2017 - sheperds bush, 2018 - la cigale paris.
How about Rome Olympic Stadium?😉
Agreed.
British Bias
Chris' "YEAAAAAAAAH!" makes this song awesome
Dude, c'mon, The Beatles went from Hard Days Night to Sgt. Pepper and even Nirvana went on from Bleach to In Utero and Radiohead went from Pablo Honey to OK Computer and/or even In Rainbow, lets just accept the fact that Muse evolving from Showbiz era to 2nd Law..

jodieisme .
Yes, but only some of those changes were good
I wouldn't say that their new stuff are better than their first 4-5 albums, radiohead i feel was the best around ok computer, nirvana was the best in the end, beatles were the best in the end
Thing is Radiohead became what they always should have been after ok computer
The thing I love about Muse is, they're constantly changing and experimenting with their music. Some say their most recent album was too "mainstream" and that they had lost there touch. I disagree. As a matter of fact, what was so cool about The Resistance was that almost the entire album was inspired by the book "1984", I'm sure whatever album they release next will be a lot different from what we've heard thus far.
A lot different...all 3 of them
@DisguiseDK In a way I agree that Muse was better in the past (incredible setlists and songs, energy), but I also love the band now. It's different, because they are different. @ddsunburn Muse are still great, and they are even better than is the past. They were 20 years old, now they are 30, they have more maturity than before and they have changed like everyone, that's all, but some people just can't accept it.
The wolstenbeast has roared now pay attention people.
Chris just made all the women in the crowd pregnant when he sang there. The Wolstenbeast has roared...
Dom's hair is pretty damn awesome!
Absolutely agree
CHRIS IS FUCKING AWESOME.
@MuseLiveVideos
I agree, I'd also like to add that it's BECAUSE of their expansion that they're my favorite band. It's definitely true that I prefer the older, heavier stuff, but the new stuff is still amazing. All of the songs they write have thought and that's what really matters. It all sounds great.
and now they're back on the list :3
I don't criticize what they do now, I respect it, I only said that I prefer their old songs.
Miss this Muse

Very well said
@MuseLiveVideos I agree with you! personally, I love the old muse but now they are also great!! They're an international famous band, and they must satisfy all their funs! Man, what a setlist!
@ddsunburn Indeed. I don't get shivers anymore...
Ajig si eta alus pisannn.....
I JUST CAME. Fuck that was incredible.
1:35 i love chris voyce
@Rtaceht6, they do play this song still, but very rarely. They played it at one of their concerts in I think it was Japan sometime earlier this year, I'm not sure if they've played it since or how long ago they played it before that.
- Muse was great -
I wish they played this and some more high energy stuff still.
cool
Old dead star omg
2020 Covid anyone?
@MuseLiveVideos yeahh but then people who weren't fans back then, will never get one the most awesome songs of them. in that way i think they should play ofcourse their newer songs..but i think they must still play allot of their older ones.

missing matts old hairstyle
@ddsunburn obviously you haven't seen Dead Star live at V Festival ;)
i prefer there old songs to but i think there live performances are now better quality
This is the truest thing about the evolution of muse and couldn’t agree more.
@Mikefrusciante
Too true!
@DisguiseDK they havnt gone pop :S just because its not heavy doesnt make it pop... they are just as good as ever. my fave album's origin of symmetry.. but i still think theyre the best band out there.

I miss Chris' old distortion... hmmmmm :/
2022?
right, it's still wrong to indicate that some people can't "accept" change when, in fact, all they do is dislike the change.
different does not mean worse
@marintaylor1
I wouldn't I'm a guitarist. :P
ppl are never satisfied: if a band stays the same after 30 years, like AC/DC, they are harangued for not changing, but if artists branch out and try something different, like Metallica did, they are called sellouts.
At 0:22, it looks like he almost falls XD
Nah, we'll get something similar.
@MuseLiveVideos id rather theyd sacrifice being th most well known band in the world in exchnge for decent setlists. hopefully the new album will be more decent then the resistance
who?
it would be boring if they produced all the same songs wouldnt it i love muse what ever they do
@DisguiseDK noooo, caaan't yoooouuu juuust accept chaaaaaange??? )':
