FDNY Engine 257 responds to Box 4081

We are at quarters of FDNY Engine 257, Tower Ladder 170, and Battalion 58 at 1361 Rockaway Parkway, where we see the engine as they respond to Box 4081 at Alabama Avenue and Flatlands Avenue for an EMS call for a person who fell down and injured their chest. I am not sure of the outcome of the call, but the engine returned within a few minutes time. Engine 257 is a 2008 Seagrave Marauder II. I can’t decide whether this is a good or bad thing. Here where I am (VA) everyone is perfectly relaxed until a call comes in, then everyone’s scrambling in such a hurry to get the gear in and into the truck

Engineer usually don't wear gear they drive and handle the pumps

In the FDNY our drivers are called Chauffeurs. His gear in in one of the compartments just behind the back step. And all the helmets are on the back step (the cab where the 4 FFs sit)

I see no one has responded to your question after 6 months.
The boxes are basically like a mini area code for a group of buildings or a building. The term box originated from the actual boxes they had on the sidewalks on every block that had a lever and if you pulled it the fire department would be alerted. Now they don’t have those, but when someone says an address to the dispatcher they give the fire department the box number so they get to the right area. 👍🏻 have a good day sir.
