My experience is that Home Warranties aren't worth the ink on the contract. Their network of service providers are the lowest rated (which makes sense because why would highly rated companies need to work with the Home Warranty company), the service providers often don't reach out to set up appointments, and they don't do a through job diagnosing the issue (often just try to do a total replacement or upsell which the HW won't pay for). The HW works hard at trying not to pay for replacements. The cost goes up every term, and what they cover goes down. I would have been better off taking my payments for the HW and putting them in an emergency account. I have had to call my own service providers or learn how to fix things myself. Complete waste of money.
2-10 home warranty and Home shield are the worst , these companies scam you. I would never get home repair warranty . They use substandard contractors. They replace substandard products , only time I will get home owner warranty if you have rental old and cheap property.

Best to just have extra money saved to get things fixed or a good credit card.
