I saw Acker and his band in Invercargill NZ in 1966. They were playing this as the curtain went up. Wonderful concert, wonderful memories.

I grew up in the 60's with a father who loved Acker Bilk and Dixieband, he would play it loud and a lot, it really did me and my older brother in, especially as we were listening to the Beatles, Hendrix etc.. But listening to it now, I clearly see what he liked about it, not quite my cup of tea but still very good music nevertheless. And compared to the nonsense that they release today, these guys were real true artists

My dad bought this record when it was released although the A side is Stars & stripes forever, I still have the record.

The roots of jazz music are many dimensional and in this era makes it impossible to comment on

    Afrika dancing to creoler jazz.

In many ways, Afrika is creole jazz..then again, this in particular is a part of a marketing strategy, provided that this video is in fact a music video. Fun for everyone sells across demographics after all.
