Do you like BoP? If so, would you also like a 100 yard dash in the Olympics where a slow, old fat guy was entered and all other runners were made to pull heavily loaded sleds to make their performance more equal?
What I love about IMSA it has so many tracks with character, the euro Tilke style tracks just don't do ot for me. The safety of them are great but just lack a little soul.
this and few other imsa tracks needs to be resurfaced, grass on escape fields is no go because coming on at high speeds is like driving on ice, there are little or no slow corners which demand best enter/exit (qualifications). I think imsa should start demand some safety standards from all tracks management like FOM did in F1. And yes tilke tracks are generic made tracks, they lack of fast elevated parts, on angle corners (daytona).
Yeah. Grass is the one thing you can change without changing the character of the track. Nascar started doing it more and more on the backstretch. Im surprised oval "safer barrier" are not used more, I know it's $$$ but it absorbs so much energy. Even tracks with grass/sand like R.Atlanta have issues. Brad K lost brakes down the straight & shattered his ankle in testing
Variety of car platforms engines , designs and yet great racing . Add Classic tracks going back half a century, endurance racing , Gran Am all good racing. Nascar owns them now lets hope they doen't turn it vanilla but some of IMSA rubs of on Cup Racing
Peter Schancel Oh trust me I know exactly what your saying I'm a die hard nascar fan too not just sports cars. Only a matter of time until Darlington gets killed off for another 1.5 mile big market track. Probably kill off W. Glen & Sonoma in the next few years for another new Charlotte style ROVAL they can pack with fans.
The broadcasting is great. Announcing is great. I would like to see a little break in announcing and have a couple minutes of race sound uninterrupted with the exception of action. I really would like to hear the cars
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked. If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, Where’s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
@@jonathancouch7779 Oh wouldn't it be cool to see Nikki Thim here instead of at WEC? IMSA has more races than WEC (and they post them here much sooner), so c'mon Aston! More exposure! Of course I'd LOVE to see Paul Dalla Lana and his Aston team in GTD. To OP: Yeah! Each driver earned his/her podium position! Amazing GTD finish! I'm a huge Kat Legge fan, but she just got beat this time. I won't cry over her loss, nor should she. That's the proper way to get beat - pull miracles outta your ass and make your opponent pull even more outta theirs! (Two women on the podium is kinda neat too.)
42:06 - Trees on the outside of a sharp curve so near the track, with nothing at all between the track and them to protect the drivers? Oy. 27:54 - There are spectators on the outside of a blind curve at the end of a downhill with notoriously tricky braking, and they are protected from the speeding cars by a chain link fence, not a wall. Have I got this wrong? (Edit) Yes, I see, there is a tire barrier that runs below the level of the surrounding terrain. A driver can roll over with confidence knowing his car will go down into the ditch to find the wall that is too short to protrude above the ground. Physics works like that.
I'm a huge Kat fan, but I don't mind if she loses one like this. She drove like hell, she made all those amazing moves, but in the end Long's moves were just a bit more effective, and he got back around her. She climbed in the standings with this finish (though we all know where that ended).
Please allow the video to finish processing. Thanks.
Thank you!!!
Thank you IMSA for re-upload in HD❤️
@@matfezza yup yup. Watching all over again.!! Also saw it in person.!!
Thanks IMSA from downunder :)

That is the kind of racing i love to watch, hard clean racing, i just love this series.

Love IMSA Weathertech. Wish you long success
thank you very much @imsa
Wow... Definitely a highlight race for 2018 season.
Thank you IMSA! Great race!
Thanks for the refresh
Absolutely epic finish in GTD! Sportscar racing at its best.
The ending is boring and paradoxical! Audi deserves the win.
I drove this track last weekend in the Champ Car 24hr Race. Needless to say....these guys are going a bit faster : )

Amazing motor race, GTD is absolutely unbelievable.
Really hope Aston Martin comes in 2019 for GTLM

4.3k views and 167 likes. That doesn't seem right. Thank you IMSA for the uploads! Btw I left a like lol
poor audi 😞 they tried their best.....the impressive point was that they were the only audi car on the track.
me gustaría que los comentaristas en ingles no hablaran tanto y dejaran escuchar los sonidos onboard
Love his excitement voice!
1:01:30 The cameraman ran right between those 2 guys lol. He could have tripped one into that motorcycle.
lol imagine what that must look like if you're one of the two guys walking and just see a camera man run between you in full creeper/stalker mode.
Thanks IMSA!!!
Even thought I hate this track because of its dumb layouts good battles tho 👌🏾
2:10:10 I agree! It’s way better racing without the prototypes!
That was a bullshit call for the 25 BMW.
wondeful race, thanks for posting it!

Did the BMWs get a new exhaust for this round? I couldn't hear them at all in person at Watkins Glen. They were actually audible in this race.
