This was written a very long time after Gohan complained about cells being boring, so I doubt that was intentional since, as @Exdeth pointed out, it's a callback to near the end of Goku vs Freeza. That's a good catch, though, and it definitely works out nicely! I doubt that they even noticed this themselves, so kudos to you

Ok so,
This expression tells you that the consequences of an action don't make up for the action itself.
So, saving 100 people because you killed 10 doesn't justify the death of those 10 people.
"Mean" is a word for a rude person if used as a noun, but it's used to tell you what a word is supposed to tell you, or in other words, what a specific word "means".
Since he used the word "mean", Goku, beeing an idiot, thought Piccolo meant he was rude, so he called him rude back.
That's the joke, Goku is stupid.

I also think they could have had some fun with redrafting child Trunks and Goten's personalities, at least the dialogue aspects. It does make sense, though, to quit when they did, what with all the issues they were dealing with. Better to go out on top than turn what was a labor of love into a grind.

I love how Cell is a completely parodied villain that is mostly funny and completely lovable, but when he returned with that 'P is for Priceless." I actually felt scared lol
It was genuinely TERRIFYING.
Easily the best villain in the show and this parody only hammers that home.

I like it as a comedy line, but I also like it because it implies that every time he was acting like a clueless Buffoon who refused to accept reality, he knew it was a lie, and was just trying to reassure the public it was all under control. It’s like one of the only heroic things he does. 😂

Remembering they said to Kaiser in their "History of Trunks commentary" video for when Trunks turned SSJ "It was the best transformation scream we've recorded until Masako's Gohan SSJ2".
You know, I think the saddest part about TFS wrapping up DBZA is that we're never going to see their version of Gohan's "Fight you? No, I want to kill you." line.

Trunks delivering the sensu and making pew pew sounds when he has firing lasers with krillin are one of the best adittions to the original, it really shows how he didn't have a childhood or friends and he is happy to be with this people even if its awkward
Nah, that was the thing: There was NO awkwardness between Trunks and Krillin. They could both be their dorky selves without worrying about being judged for it.

I really hope all of you at teamfourstar stay together after this. Maybe add on an animation staff, and rebrand yourself to avoid copyright issues if need be. Because if anyone, and I mean *ANYONE* deserves or should start their own show, it's you guys. And if you do, I promise you've got at least one faithful viewer of whatever you make. I don't even care if it's got a completely different style and tone. You guys know what you're doing, so I know it'll be great. Anyway, thanks for all the laughs, can't wait for part 3.
evilclown019 They are staying together after this. This is their company. How they make money. Follow their twitter. You can find out a lot more there. They’re likely going to remaster season 1 btw.
The verdict is still out (as of the time I posted this comment anyway) on DBZA, but TeamFourStar itself isn't going anywhere, so you don't have to worry about that.
They are working with the guy who did abridged on titan to make a show. It's call fist masters. It'll hopefully be put soon. It's essentially shounen inspired comedy.
The VAs are already working in the industry, they did an official dub of Hells, I imagine the others have industry work too.

Between Goku's sacrifice and 16's, the abridged series proves that even though the primary focus is comedy, they can give us amazingly emotional moments. I can't wait to see Vegeta's sacrifice in the Buu saga.

Chi-Chi should be called an irresponsible mother for never using the Dragon Balls to help Goku’s brain(wouldn’t be funny, so that’s an easy point to take back), but she forces her son as soon as he can walk and talk into super advanced learning, doesn’t allow her son and husband to bond because what her husband likes is something she hates, so she is a major reason Gohan is a pacifist, and a reason Cell was able to kill Goku by exploding. Next point, she never goes with him EVEN THOUGH SHE’S LITERALLY ALMOST AS STRONG AS KRILLIN, and berates him when he does go to whatever it is he needs to do. Chi-Chi is a major reason Gohan is a pacifist and was useless until the Cell saga, and is a reason Goku and Gohan don’t have a good relationship, even if she isn’t the main cause.
Also, Goku was alive and a constant presence in Gohan’s life UNTIL HE DIED FOR HIM, then trained to become stronger when Vegeta and Nappa were coming to Earth. Call me crazy, but it seems Chi-Chi is actually to blame for a lot of bullshit

Not really Team Three Star but the group as a whole. He is no longer the old Vegeta. And lately Vegeta has gone along with a lot of silly things. He is slowly becoming domesticated to the Z Gang if you were to call it that. Well that's my take on it anyhow. TFS may end up coining the term Super Duper Saiyan but it's only really possible because Vegeta no longer really cares about these things. During a more calm moment Vegeta may disagree to call it that! But during this moment his family and friends lives are at risk. It's a very trivial thing and not on Vegeta mind.
But this could just all be the way I look at it. lol But I feel like if Vegeta only recently joined the Z fighters he would have argued about that name right away.

Yeah the last episode, as great as it was, it kind of focused a bit too much on seriousness and not so much on comedy, it didn't feel like an abridged episode, just felt like... an episode. This one though, it's easily my favourite in the entire series, wonder how they're gonna top it off with the next one.
And this is why it takes so damn long to create an episode. I can only imagine they put a lot of time with the scripts alone.

I wish canon Goku had said this. It's not just an apology to Gohan for making him do this but also for the times he couldn't be there for him or when he would jeopardize things just to have a good fight. This was the most satisfying character moment I've ever seen Goku have, canon or not.
At this point, DBZ Abridged is canon. The actual series makes references to it.
I don't think that Gohan hates fighting in the show. He just wants a peaceful life. He still did the tournament during the Buu saga of his own volition.

I just realised the popping sound for Goku's instant transmission that tfs uses actually makes more sense than the original. Teleporting someone or something instantly like that would leave behind a large volume of empty space in its place so the surrounding air would quickly implode to fill in the space causing a loud popping sound. (neeeerrrrrd)

I'm not gonna lie, the scene were Goku sacrifices himself to stop Cell is way more powerful then the original scene. It's one of the only times in Abridged were Goku gets serious and says some powerful stuff, Krillin's shout almost sounds like the original VA and Goku's speech to Gohan is honestly really emotional, Great scene.
