For anybody who thinks you need to have a audience to be able to sell to them, I started with less than 1,000 subscribers on UA-cam. I'm a glass user, which is a fairly niche audience, and I started selling them copper oxide powder, which creates bubbles in glass. I started in the beginning of 2023, right before I hit 1000 subscribers, and I sold two to four packets a week, at $4 a packet. Small money, but it added up over time to coffee money, and the ability to keep buying more. I don't even have 1700 subscribers now, and I had a video do really well in my niche last week. This month? I have made over $300, from those little $4 packets. Jade hits the nail on the head for everything you need to do. You don't have to be well known, if people like or trust you. It may not bring in big money, but we all start somewhere.
This has been such an eye opening video for me on this topic! I love the idea that whatever is working well with your content you should double down on that and build your monetisation strategy around it. I feel like you can even apply it in the reverse. For example, I already know that I want my monetisation strategy to be centered around selling my own digital products. This tells me that instead of focusing on high reach types of content that may be great for gaining a lot of "know", I should focus on content that builds trust, which is actually the kind of content I most enjoy creating! This video really came at the perfect time. Thank you!
Love the tip on the mindset shift, i never thought about it like that! I am almost at 100 subs and previously have always been iffy with selling with my previous ventures. Hopefully will start thinking about making money on youtube by the next several months. Thank you for the video, always love learning your perspective and its helped me alot in my UA-cam journey so far
Could you make a video for those of us who have a decent following and yet feel overwhelmed trying to figure out how to make money with it? I have 32k and excellent engagement and growth but I’m so lost 😩
