Cloudland Canyon SP is beautiful. I camped there while I was in college. I was majoring in geology and we used it as a base while we went to various outcrops in the area studying the geology of Georgia. But that was long before my interest in photography.
One other place you and Emily might consider checking out is Eufala NWR on the Georgia Alabama line. I used to go there every winter for birding. The ducks and other waterfowl are amazing. Access is easy and the land is pretty open so those low angle light silhouettes you like should be a cinch. Just sayin,' you might want to check it out.
