  • Watch along as Ray and Emilie Reid continue their epic road trip-- this time stopping along Florida's forgotten coast. We stumbled upon a beautiful untouched beach along the gulf coast of Florida, with a stunning habitat and plentiful shorebirds. Come for a walk with us, and enjoy some beautiful scenery, stunning sunrises, sunsets, and shorebirds. At the end we find a surprising kingfisher! This is part four of a new series-- Emilie & Ray's Photo Adventures! Check back in for more of our travels.

Brilliant low angle shots, superb colours. Wish I could get that low, maybe I need to try yoga too, or use the flippy screen in my D850 lol

Thanks so much and I'd say wait until you get a mirrorless to try the flip screen. The dslr focus with flip screens is basically useless for anything moving.

@@RayHennessy yes I agree, I very rarely use it, only for macro stuff like fungi

"It's chilly! 50°!" GTFOH! 😂 Seriously, you got some great captures. I'll definitely inspired to get to a Long Island beach on a somewhat colder morning. We get most of the same birds in winter except the pelicans and skimmers. A kingfisher dive remains one of my nemesis captures.

Certainly not cold overall but compared the the temps we had been dealing with it was. Funny how that works relative to what you are used to. Right now we are in Utah and it's been single digits, so that's actually cold haha. Thanks for watching and keep after those kingfishers, they are incredibly tough!

@@RayHennessy thanks. I did catch a kingfisher hovering once. But it didn't dive; it just flew away.

It was around St. Joseph's Peninsula State Park, I don't recall the exact name of the beach.

Didn’t think Florida had forgotten coast. Up in the pan handle/Pensecola area?

A bit more east of that, sort of the corner of the gulf there.

Great vlog, but is this location a secret or is it something you’re willing to share?

Not at all, I just don't know that it has a name, it was just a beach outside of the park that was closed that we found driving by it. It's south of the state park.
