- In this second of three candid chat videos we are talking about the prospect of ULEZ being scrapped by the Conservative party if they are re-elected… but as Geoff points out, it doesn’t quite work that way.

Just about spot on. Their manifesto should be treated like a cars expectations. If the car doesn't do as is stated, you should be able to chop it in for another one. Will the other one be any better? Same old shit, different badge.

If the Tories were worth voting back in, then it should be on a manifesto of 'More of the Same'; after all, they've had a huge majority for the last few years so they have had plenty of time to introduce anything worthwhile.

Of course the tories can't stop ULEZ. If they even tried it would take YEARS of legal wrangling, years and guess who would fit that bill. There are private companies tied up with ULEZ, contracts have been signed and set in stone and not a chance would they go down quietly. No, it pains me, London ULEZ is here to stay, and if labour get in, you can be sure there will be more road charging.
Yes and if they keep the bill for the last year the number of cars that do not met ULEZ rules will have drop as poeple get newer cars

@@ryszard68You’re probably correct. However, the sooner Reform gain some sort of power, the better, as then it will become evident to the wider population what you’re claiming. Voting Tory is not an option and few are aware of the alternative minor parties.
One thing they won't abolish is net bloody zero.

as it was TOO COLD for them to live there, UNTIL the relentless march north of Man Made Global Climate Change.

Yes choose very carefully between the Rock and a hard place. Both will promise the world and both will deliver nothing. Both Kier and Richi are both Young Global leaders and are both members of the World Economic Forum. So both sides of the same Bum. Both parties will increase Tax. How could they not when we have massive spending and Massive inflation. What about we have a referendum to say no more spending on the War machine. The real people in charge are the Bank of England, everything else is theatre.
I will definitely be voting REFORM UK. I cannot vote for the shower in power or lie bore. We deserve better. A change gonna come. Amen
I know first-hand why the roads are knackered right now.
So back in 2009-2010 I worked for a HUGE company (16,000-20,000 employees) that maintained the infrastructure for the UK (roads, railways, etc) and I used to know a lot about the process of inspecting roads, how quickly potholes needed to be repaired etc, and back then it was all done to a reasonable standard. Well when Gordon Brown took over from Tony Blair he just decided that they would STOP paying our bill entirely to save money and almost immediately the company laid off 90% of the staff. Roads have never been maintained to the same standard since that day
And those that do "repair" (I use that word very lightly) the roads just cut corners and make such a bad job of it they may as it well not bothered... Bet the invoice to the council was for an A+ job though.. corruption rules it seems

After the manifesto speech I spoke to rishi , I said if I were Prime Minister I would make amazon and the other multinationals pay u.k. taxes and help our veterans and poorest pensionaers.

Sad but unfortunately I believe you’re right. Un directive 30 or project 30. Something like that actually, I think it was 2019 makes a statement to population reduction. They’ll tax everyone out of existence, not have healthcare, net zero. Humm. Funny how they tax a granny driving a 1 litre 15 year old fiesta, yet millionaires can fly private jets, super yacht’s or massive SUV’s and pay nothing. It doesn’t add up so it can only be a depopulation quest. CBDC’s digital id’s, travel bans us plebs aren’t in there plans that’s for sure.

Mr Sunak would be better off simply abolishing the post of London Mayor. Mayors may work in other (smaller) cities, *cough* except Birmingham, but not in the capital city of ~9 million. The London borough councils, overseen by the government directly (via the Minister for London) should be doing the job.

I can’t think of one politician that has any integrity honesty or respect not just self respect but respect for any of the people he or she is supposed to be representing. It’s no wonder that the people of this country are so apathetic when it comes to voting.
The only significant difference between them is, do we vote for the Blue liar the Red liar or the green liar !. Sadly none of them are worth a cup of cold tea.
How modern governments work. How they help others. Alcohol is bad - pay us (the government et al), smoking is bad - pay us. IE cars are bad - pay us. Russia is bad - pay us. Ukraine is (suddenly) good - pay us. Working is good - pay us. Employing people gainfully is good - pay us. Doing well with your investments - pay us. Want doctors - pay us. Want a hospital - pay us. Want someone else to raise your children - pay us. I see a pattern here.
Almost every other profession has high levels of governance and barriers to entry. Professional drivers, medical staff, sparkles, plumbers , law etc etc. I had three years of training and am tested every single month to maintain accreditation. Politics have no consequences to their actions, the back end civil service even less. We need to bring in consequences for poor governance at local and national level. My tuppence worth.
lets not forget the farmers. They deserve our full support.

One thing they won't fix is making manifestos legally binding contracts with the people and if they fail in any of 'the pledges' they can be sacked without pension/compensation.
When you are an employer you employ people and issue a contract of employment. We 'the people' are the employer but we have no real power in sacking our 'employees' who have lied to gain employment.
They should call the manifesto a wish list.

I’ve worked nearly all my life with hardly a day on sick
3 days off from 1988 to 1999
New job 1999 to present day
2 week off due to being radioactive ☢️
And the best, few week off due to knee operation that I PAID for myself at the cost of 5k. Sick of being fobbed off at doctors etc and wanted my life back
So I’ve paid all my taxes all my working life and couldn’t get to see a doctor
And i shouldn’t expect my kids to pay an inheritance tax for stuff i leave after I’ve paid for it with my taxed wages

This reminds me of the guy that goes into a shop and asks for 6 tomato's the guy behind the counter says 2.50 the customer then says. Why are yours so expensive when they're only £1 down the road, the shopkeeper then says go buy from him then to which the customer replies but he hasn't got any, the shopkeeper then says mine are only £1 when I don't have any, in this story the Tories are the shop selling the cheap tomatoes they promise you everything and anything but in reality they have nothing

No not all of us in fact most just didn't bother voting because the choice was pathetic. Of those of us who did vote most voted against him but split the vote beyween the other god knows how many stupid no hopers. Only 18% of londoners actually put their cross by khan's name. The rest split the vote or just didnt bother at all. Where I live 66% of voters voted against him.

In regard to ULEZ it is a very good point that making money instead of clean air...unlike here in Glasgow you just get fined. Makes you really wonder as the motorway network through the city centre is at a standstill during rush hours...it that considered just as bad. Tbf expect soon all of Scotland to be a LEZ with how woke the government has become.

You know you pay VAT on fuel tax, right? You're paying tax on fuel and they're charging you tax on the tax. So the idea that inheritance tax exists isn't a surprise.
I've left the police after 20 years, isn't the job I joined and hated the position I was put in during the sc*mdemic, will never go back which is a shame as i saw it as a forever job but i cant see change happening anytime soon

Thatcher managed to abolish the old GLC which had far more responsibilities over London than Khan’s Greater London Authority.

Why drive on the motorway going to Le Mann? Much better to take the scenic route. We used to stop for lunch in Aloncon and buy our tickets. You can’t do that, but you want to make time for food in France!
Even if the useless government goes away, you still have the problem of a very large group of people entering retirement and also needing more healthcare. Fewer younger people earning less than the olds will result in less taxation. And the olds also retire relatively early, so this is a rapidly developing problem and is hard to solve. Gov will need to tax the uber wealthy hard, in which case they’ll leave the country. Not to worry, this is a 100 year cycle, just 50 more to go 😂

@escapetheratracenow9883 unless I new test come in the 6D is the standard and that been on all new cars made after 2018 . But a lot of cars before that date still was built to met that test that will make the cars 11 years old in 5 years time
The tory promise to abolish the ULEZ means that either that they are intending to "pretend" to try to abolish it and then fail, or it means that they have come up with yet another way to fleece even more money off the motorist that makes the ULEZ redundant.
