It's like the glitch in Mario 2 where if you exit a subcon area with a star just as the star ends the subcon music will continue playing instead of the normal level theme.

I also had a starman forever glitch in mk7 where I had starman for the whole grand Prix 😁

Heh, I suck at this game. I can't get used to the physics after playing a bunch of Mario Kart DS.

It is also possible to have this bug happen in the sNes version

@Cheeseoman: I think this glitch is exclusive to the Japanese version of the game however I'm not sure, since it is rare to get it to work.
