ZEROVR was on the right track with these, the first half and final error screen is well made! Shame they ruined the atmosphere by corrupting the tracks and unlocking bizarre characters, even including the Wario head What I find more odd is that the game always seems to recognize the last track played, even when they back out of the license and go back into Grand Prix/VS. You'd think it would just default to Luigi Circuit
I'll be honest: This felt pretty believable, even with the headless/crow neck Mario aka Ninten aka ???????? showing up, up until the Wario Apparition at the end of the first one. And this came off more as hilarious than creepy, from how dopey the corrupted models look.
It really looks that for the corrupted sequences the guy actually corrupted his game in a way to get that specific scenario and then recorded the result in-game - it looks way too realistic to be a fake scenario. If my theory is right, then wow: incredible work.

That happens when the wii freezes up. It can be caused by a number or things. One thing these videos gets wrong is that the wii is literally frozen. It cannot do anything. You have to get up and power the system off yourself. This also happens on Wii U
