I made my backing cards by using watercolor paper and splotching colors on it depending on the pin and cut them with a paper cutter. It saved me money on outsourcing since I don't have a printer.
Jazz music plus crafts is heaven
Paloma, please don't bake your polymer clay for less than the time on the package. It will under-cure which will make it brittle and it will easily snap. Instead, get an oven thermometer and check the temp of your oven to be sure you get right at 275. As long as your oven is below 350 f, you will NOT burn your clay. You can leave it in for 2 hours and it won't burn. I leave mine in for an hour to get a good, strong cure. Then the clay will be bendy and very strong. It will not snap unless you just keep bending it back and forth and back and forth. It will easily last a long time! Baking for less than the allotted time will ruin your work and make it weak and easily break in the future. I tested my oven with the thermometer and learned my oven runs an astonishing 75-80 degrees hotter than the dial! This is why I struggled not to burn things at first. So now, I set it at 200 f on the dial and it's at 275 on my oven thermometer. At this point, I start baking my pieces for easily an hour, but I put the thermometer to 325 so that if the oven was to heat up too much, I will hear an alarm before it gets hot enough to burn my clay. This way if there's a mistake and I put the dial too high, or someone else in my house goes to use the oven and doesn't realize I have clay in, my clay will not get burned.
I hope this helps! Your stuff is so cute and I love your videos!
I don't even use clay, I always find your videos so chill and calming plus I feel like you've explained your process really well ☺
i am obsessed with the colors you used this time! they're so vibrant and fun :)

ooouhh looking forward to this!!
I just colored my hair and we have the same hair color omg.. love your vids thank you for sharing them.
I've been wanting to make my clay pins for a while, I have a few I've already baked and one that I've painted and coated with resin, but this definitely gave me a little push to finish them!
Mis favoritos son los higos!! Estan muy hermosos, amo los colores 🥺💞
Pd: felicidades a ambxs por su casamiento ❤️
Lovely video as usual 🤍🤍✨~
Very useful video 😊😊
Love this video and want to try polymer clay. Failed with air dry so thank you so much, love your puppy 🐶 ❤
Can I ask what issues you had with air dry please?
Que lindo tu perrito ❤❤❤
How cute is your dog
hiii im gonna try to use air dry clay to make pins as i watch you make yours, so excited!!!!
air dry clay also works! i personally prefer polymer just because it’s a bit more stable and predictable
@@palomathepeach Late, but I have a small question. For the back of pins, does the back of pins need to be coated too? Or just the front? Thanks!
@@bimates2690in the earliest video she showed that she coats the back too to ensure the pin to the clay!
I want to try and make clay pins soooo bad! I took a pottery class in college but I want to try just a small clay format!
gorl but this nail color!? i love it, it's beautiful. what color/brand is it?! love your videos! x
These pins are so cute! I always have trouble rolling the polymer clay out because it's tough for me. Maybe I just have weak hand strength lol.
Get yourself a cheaper end pasta rolling machine ♡♡♡
ahh what nail polish color / brand are you wearing? so pretty
Can you shine & protect the color of the pin without modpodge and just resin? Approximately how long will the resin layer last???
And which company's paints are better to use?
ahhh please tell us where you got that shirt at 10:38 !!! it's beautiful!!!
Do I prefer the new coating over the uv resin?
as far as how it looks, no. nothing looks cleaner and crisper than UV resin. but as far as the coating process, yes. UV resin is an extreme hassle to get onto projects.
Hi ☺️☺️ how do you measure the thickness of your clay pins?
hi paloma!! been a huge fan for yours since 2021.. i was insired to make pins from your first pin making video.. but how to avoid chipping off? i tried making few ones using oven baked clay then used nail resin as coat then super glue for pins then after 2 days the pin is already chipping off along with the paint :(
Coat with UV resin at the final stage!
Does normal acrylic paint work too? 😅 I only have that for now and not enough to buy a good set of acrylic gouache 😅
12:30 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Can you just use regular arylic paint?
Idk if you know but procreate has a grid you can use
Could somone please respond to me with the brand of the topcoat used so i can search for it? Im a little hard of seeing. I appreciate it. :)
minwax polycrylic
Hiii, does anyone know what kind of paper did she use?
I have a problem with pin backings as we don't have E6000 in the UK and I've used super glue in the past which works temporarily. The back surface of the pins has trouble sticking to the glue and pin backs 😢
You could put a layer of clear or colored epoxy resin over the entire back including the pin back. Just make sure not to cover the hole the pin goes into and have the pin open.
Alternativey
Have you tried 2 part epoxy resin glue? Gorilla glue does one. And you can find no brand 2 part epoxy resin glue in Poundland.
How thick do you have to roll the clay?
i roll it til its about 1/4"
What type of clay you use??
sculpey polymer clay!
What if I don't have an oven? Is it okay to do it with Hair dryer?
You need to bake it with an oven. I use a small, cheap toaster oven. It’s actually not safe to bake your clay in the same oven you cook food in because the clay creates toxic fumes while it’s baking. So bake clay in a separate toaster oven in a well ventilated space.

what thickness is it?
i would say about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch
That looks like air dry clay.
u could def use air dry clay, i used to use polymer a lot just bc it was a little bit more solid
@@palomathepeachcould you use a normal pin/safety pin or hijab pin
