Wish I could’ve been there, too - but I was just 6 years old at the time, so... Heh.
I had a dream the other night that I was there, and submitted the name for the song.
Curious about the genesis of the title for this piece, given Dave’s remarks prior to performing.
Anywho, you’re fortunate to have been there for that moment.
      Revisit those memories often!

Such a beautiful, song; but moreso, a very sad one.
I think I first downloaded it on Napster, and it made quite the impression on me.
I recently broke down the lyrics (as best as I can make them out from the audio) in traditional Japanese haiku format.
I encourage any fans to do the same; of this specific [version of the] song.
It takes on an entirely new meaning - and it made my heart break for Dave, and whatever he was going through at the time.
It’s familiar our individual human experiences, and the journey of life upon which we’re on; collectively.

Thank you for adding this! I had this on cd, a long time ago and learned it on guitar. I lost the cd and haven’t heard it in over 20 yrs. I never forgot how to play it, tho. So excited to find this recording...

This either turned into Pay For What You Get or was scrapped because it was too similar to Pay For What You Get :)

How does this meet criteria to be labeled haiku warrior?

    • @twetch373
      @twetch373 3 роки тому

      Break it down!
Each verse requires 3 lines, a total of 17 syllables, and a syllabic sequence of 5-7-5 (line-by-line).
It takes a few hours, and some Dave-think to iron out some of the lyrical impulse that happens during most performances.
Song will take on a new meaning to you after you’re done.
It’s worth the exercise, but keep a box of tissues close by.

I bet they think (to a certain degree) that lyrics used in these "rare" songs are too complex for the average bandwagon fan.
