I love your channel dude. I've watching your vids for awhile and got back into slingshots.
I just want to say that these "pocket shots" have been the go to sling shot of all the urban kids in Yonkers by since 1995. I made one as a kid with a magazine and and laser sights... is love to make a few a send them. I've been thinking of making my own slingshot channel because I enjoy your videos so much. Anyway keep doing what your doing peace and love.

I remember making those out of a ballon and the cap from a bottle as a kid,
We shot berries at eachother, It was kinda like paintball since the berries pretty much exploded on impact and left a mark on the clothes in the colour of the team, We had one Blue/Purple team and one red team.
Or shooting extra long darts and see who is the most accurate shot.

Reminds me of the pea shooters I used to make and carry around when I was a kid. You could make one with just a straw and use it like a blowgun, but you could also use some kind of tube, cut a rubber balloon the right size, and use it like a slingshot. I made mines using film containers to which I'd cut the bottom off, and thick birthday balloons, and shoot all kind of projectiles with them. This version seems a lot more powerful, thought. Could be interesting to get one! I had seen it in the '300 Club' of the slingshot forum.

The two little pieces of round wood you used to secure the pocket shot when you conducted the draw weight test would be a great concept for making a Pocket Shot rifle so you can draw the pocket shot back into the gap so it sits there, then you could have a simple lever trigger that pushes the projectile inside the pouch over the gap and it fires.

Oh yes, those were so popular in my childhood. We made them out of balloons and plastic bottle caps. There used to grow a lot of 'rowan' trees around with loads of 'red balls' so we never run out of ammo :-) ah, the feels!

Suggestion for making making a pocketshot grip: Instead of using a normal screw, maybe you could use a threaded rod + a wingnut so you wouldn't need to have an extra tool in your pocket?

This design has been around for decades. We used to make the same thing out of PVC plumbing pipe, duct tape & used the fingers from thick rubber boiler suits as children. I remember we fired marbles out of them & they were easily powerful enough to shatter glass bottles from a fair distance :-)

i had entire arms races with diy versions of exactly that, between me and kids in the hood when i was very young.
My "final" version used very thick balloons and i think was almost as powerful as the black pocket shot, though the balloons would rip pretty fast.

  • @xylii42
    @xylii42 3 роки тому

Important note. The pocket is latex. The.grease on regular ball bearings and steel balls will eat it. If you use them, clean off the grease with alcohol, then wash in dawn dishwashing liquid. When dry, coat the balls in caster oil to prevent rust. Also coat the latex pocket inside and out with a couple drops of caster oil. Let set for a while then wipe off excess caster oil. This will make the pocket last a lot longer. Caster oil is the only oil safe and actually good for the latex. Keep extra pockets in a zip lock bag with a little caster oil. They will not age stored this way.

  • @fedaikinatreides5215

i used the same principle in 2000 with cut bottle neck and regular baloons to create the pocket, it was fairly acurate and powerful and we used for amo small somewhat round rocks

  • @TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32

Oh, a zip gun. I used to make them as a kid out of a broken rubber glove, any piece of pipe, and some tape. Though they seem to have a nice product, I do not see any use for me off hand. So how long will the rubber last before it tears like most balloon, glove shooters would? Because even a little hole can ruin the shooter forcing you to replace it and in some cases, you would shoot, a hole would be made and the projectile backfires.

+K.H. Have you ever tried to put one condom into another? Not easy, and very slimy. Plus, the steel balls will entangle in the rubber and terrible things will happen.

Yes, rolled them on a piece of pipe.
Ended up replacing the bottle for to pieces of plastic piping that slid over the top of each other. We stretched the condoms over the smaller piece of pipe and then slid the big piece over the condoms. Took some trial and error and a few broken condoms to get the fitment right but in the end this thing was bad ass.

+JoergSprave True but we used to make them the same way but with balloons here in the netherlands it definitly works. Not to say that it's not a cool product. Maybe you can experiment with balloons some time? Liebe dein channel grussen von nebenan :)

this is called a "rönnbärskanon" in swedish usually made out of a used toiletpaper roll and a ballon or condom. the literal translation is rowanberry cannon
