    I always liked arrows. There is something about their length that makes me think they fly more straight.

    God I love your videos!
    Where a lot of UA-cam channels start disappointing after a while, this only gets better and better!
    And that knife looks awesome!
    I work in a kitchen, and high-quality knives make a huge difference, so a great trade in my opinion!
    Keep it up Jorg!

    :D I have a brilliant idea, you should add recurve limbs! It would give your crossbow a lot additional power plus (assuming you have the right tools) you could make a pair. I would recommend making the limbs out of Yew because it's a very flexible wood.... Or you could buy the limbs at an archery store. :)

    Thanks to u joerg I just made my first slingshot !!!!!!! It was kinda designed after your moore hammer . It feels great making something out of blood sweat and blood.
    Them darn rasps are sharp bastards !!!!
    Thanks for inspiring me to make something after my back injury. Peace.

    Just in case what you said wasn't a mistake on your part, a bullpup is a weapon that has all the mechanisms behind the grip and the trigger. Most firearms, the trigger is in the back. The bullpup was designed so the trigger is ahead of all of the mechanisms and firing parts. So this is a bullpup but I want you to know that it isn't because it's short.

    • @HXTonner
      @HXTonner 11 років тому +4

      Perfectly explained, well done, good to know there are people who know what a true bullpup is. I have trained with the Austeyr and the first thing you learn is the definition of a bullpup.

    • @ojanieno
      @ojanieno 10 років тому +1

      Being relatively short is the result, not the definition of bullpup design, but actually saying that cause means result is not a mistake.

    • @stalememe6407
      @stalememe6407 9 років тому

      Idiot a bullpups main purpose WAS TO BE SHORT

    • @rednecman19
      @rednecman19 9 років тому

      yes but that's not how it becomes classified as a bullpup you fuckhead. if you have a short rifle its just a fucking sbr. don't go calling someone an idiot and sound fucking stupid.

    • @stalememe6407
      @stalememe6407 9 років тому

      rednecman19 from Wikipedia
      "A bullpup is a firearm with its action behind its trigger group this configuration gives a shorter overall weapon for its given barrel length".
      Now who are you calling a fuckhead

  • @Slingshotchannel
    @Slingshotchannel  12 років тому

    It looses some power, but only until the temperature of the tensed band has reached the environmental temp. The the hystersis comes to an end and the band power reaches stability. You simply compensate by using a bit more rubber. No problem with heavy projectiles.

    You are my hero!! People here in the US are VERY upset about the coming vote on the UN arms trade treaty and they think the government will come grab our guns. You are showing us that we can make our own defensive weapons that, while not quite as good as a gun, are still VERY effective.

      According to the well thought out "Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks, guns are nothing more than "last stand" weapons when the Zombies come - as a gun shot is a "dinner bell" for Zombies. Surviving the Zeds is a question of hiding and ambush.

    Your woodworking skills are unbelievable. It is a shame that you cancelled the tutorial, but aside from the woodworking aspect, the concept seems pretty simple, kind of like a "peg gun." Please keep making videos, I love the slingshot channel. Also, that 200 pound draw "crossbow" you made, that you shot the lead ball against that rock with, is incredible. An electric winch would be a great addition. That is a very formidable weapon.

    This is a fantastic design, and I've seen most of your vids and shot all kinds of bows, crossbows, and vertical xbows..... this is probably my favorite.... I'd love to see a sturdier, higher quality, heavier bands (higher velocity) version of this.

    Cheaper. Much more compact. Heavier trigger pull when you use really strong draw weights (heavy bands). Shoots full size arrows rather than bolts.

    oh sorry if i have made a misunderstand here, it was just a joke because all of your weapons are made from wood, and when i watch your video it have 1 dislike and i think that the only person (group) that could dislike your videos is an ambientalist or something like this. i really love your videos ;D

  • @Slingshotchannel
    @Slingshotchannel  12 років тому

    Yes, for a crossbow that shoots full size arrows it is very small. Most conventional crossbows are only slightly longer, but ususally very very wide, hard to carry around.

    Firstly, I love your trigger mechanism. Until now I hadn't seen a trigger that released the string from the top, saves a tonne of time if you want to build a crossbow quickly, without many moving parts.
    One question though Joerg, you don't seem to like building weapons with a lath (limbs), is this a preference of yours? I love an overall shorter weapon and I've found the width factor can be countered by making the limbs collapsible using lockable hinges.
    Anyway, keep up the great work.

    "Bullpup" describes a modern firearm configuration in which the action is located behind the trigger group and alongside the shooter's face, so there is no wasted space for the buttstock as in conventional designs. This permits a shorter firearm length for the same barrel length for improved maneuverability, and reduces weight.
