    How come when gringos come to Peru they are called "expats" and when peruvians go to the US, we are called "immigrants"?

    • @beasleyfinds
      @beasleyfinds  3 місяці тому +14

      I've explained this too many times.. if you are just living in another country but don't plan on staying forever that's an expat. Immigrants immigrate (permanently usually) to another country. Sometimes legally sometimes illegally but usually with the intention of staying. Alternatively, an expat plans on returning to their home country. They are living temporarily in another country for work or other reasons. If they go through the immigration process they are immigrants. Is that enough of an explanation? If not, Google it!

      Usually also, "immigrants " that come to USA from third world countries come here illegally. They come with no money using American resources like schools for their children,hospitals,welfare, etc,etc,etc. Many of them don't pay taxes and they send most of their money to their country of origin which doesn't help the American economy. Americans on the other hand take their own money and invest in the country they are moving to. When do you see a poor American taking free stuff and services paid by Peruvian taxpayers?

Outside of: Barranco, Miraflores, San Isidro, Surco, La Molina (Las Casuarinas, La Planicie, San Borja, Camacho, Rinconada), Cieneguilla, Jesus Maria, Magdalena, your typical American could not adapt. Even San Miguel, La Punta, Callao would be slumming it.

You know how this work, Peru has 2 placas tectonicas: Naca and Southamerican, wje they colapse eachother under floor its when earthwakes happend, so when theres no any " sismic noise" its really worry cause that means a lot energie its keeping this destrcutive power. So to make it short, a huge earthquake its coming any time in Lima region. Being a born and raised Peruvian living in US, I can honestly say I would not move to Peru unless I'm out of Lima and out of their surroundings... Lima is saturated.. been there for a month long just recently and I can say that the traffic and people no respecting anything PLUS the insecurity... makes a recipe for not wanting to comeback... I would if at least the insecurity is somehow controlled or under some kind of security... until then NAH is a hard pass maybe someone else find it attractive but being from there, is a hard pass for me... I will go to do business and make an extra income but other than that NAH....

    • @beasleyfinds
      @beasleyfinds  Місяць тому

      Yeah my wife grew up in Lima and loves to visit but I don't think she would want to live there again. I enjoyed my time traveling around Cusco and the Sacred Valley. I like the mountains more than the coastal areas. If I were to live there a while, that's where it would be. Thanks for your honest thoughts.

    Sorry, but your list is totally wrong. Mexico is way cheaper than Peru or Brazil. I don't understand how your list says that Mexico is 2 times more expensive than Brazil or Peru. I have been to the 3 countries and Mexico is way cheaper. That is the reason why Americans love going to Mexico for holidays, where their USD make them instanly rich in Mexico!

      @RobertoNunez-gl3oy 7 місяців тому +4

      You are right Peru 🇵🇪 seems more expensive than Mexico 🇲🇽 and it is because the quality of service is top of the line and the level is upscale compared to lesser lay back style in Mexico that is why you are paying for high quality versus quantities and simplicity

    I very strongly believe it is the cost of living 'mostly'. Doubtful it is from a desire to learn Spanish ! --?-- So many other countries are getting many expats from all over the place also. Grass is greener in many cases for sure - some for ethnic reasons perhaps also a few generations removed maybe ? -- Biden's America has driven many to homelessness - or - very near it - and inflation is ridiculous. Other states that were cheaper have seen illegal immigration exacerbate the affordable housing crisis - practically nationwide ! - - - Many countries are now seeing the influx of expats - driving up the prices for locals and causing severe inflation for them ! --?-- As people move and relocate looking for a better life - having a worse one where they are now. - - - And so it goes........

    • @beasleyfinds
