If you have black eye on and you melee the enemies that rush you inside the drop shield your health will recover to full even if you have one bar left. This saved me a couple times and I was able to get the achievement without using a single health pack.
Great guide! I did some changes based on the comments though, because I had 4 failed attempts and couldn't even get to 50k, but I think I also figured out what makes only a few elites spawn What i did was not use the mythic skull but I did use cowbell, I stood in the same area at the start, just so I wouldn't get shot to death, when the golden elites were the only ones coming, I went to the road in front of that area Then I just kept throwing the grenades to the sides and using only energy swords, which only need two hits and no walking around the elites, I didn't stray too far because that's when the wraith starts shooting at you Also it seems that there's always gonna be a few elites that stand far away and shoot at you, and I think those are the extra ones that come around, so just don't get too close to them and only focus on the ones that actually come to you. I actually had a plasma rifle elite by himself on the other side of the rode, so instead I went to that side so that the golden elites wouldn't shoot at me, they just stood there in the distance, and I didn't get more that 3-4 elites at the time. Just be careful to not leave the small area you're in because that's when extra elites come to you I focused on the sword ones first because those are the ones that can kill you very easily, and because you will need a lot of spare swords in case the one you have runs out Also, I rarely used abilities, I was at risk of dying only once but the sword makes it easy to regain your shields. Having the running ability might come in handy in case you need a sword and there aren't any nearby It took me longer, around 1:35 hours but it was wayyyy easier this way
Edit: I did it. Thanks a billion. Original comment below: Thanks for the setup guide. I might eventually get this done this way. The worst thing about this is when a Sword Elite technically has his back or shoulder to you, but his "internal direction" of sorts is towards you so the Beat Down can't register. This, exclusively, is what has killed my attempted runs way late in, at least so far. Never explosions or anything else, just this one inconsistency when it occurs with a particularly swing-happy Sword Elite in the middle of a badly timed crowd.
What pisses me off is the fact that I hit their back and it doesn't register... Like I died twice now because of that, literally got gangbanged when they're backs were turned to me. God this achievement is kinda bs and infuriating.
Some tips I found to be: - pick up the bubble shield. when placed it regenerates health so can be used if you're in a tricky spot -pick up concussion rifle and use it to shoot plasma grenades that drop around your area -I could only get consistent assassinations by strafing right around the elites
If doing it on multiplayer, there’s a sort of safe spot in the back left corner as soon as you spawn in. One a max of 7-8 elites spawn around there but it’s usually 3. Just make sure you go nowhere near the hill or you’ll get the firing squad
Part of the game was also just meant to be sacrifice, like this is how the halo universe kicks it into high gear for the end of days halo1,2,3 where humanity is finishing the fight after losing so many heroes.
This is also a great way to get the achievement for killing the BOB elite. I think he has different armor than the other elites and he is much less aggressive, as he backs off instead of charging.
I literally got to 150K points, made sure I had enough just in case my points wouldn’t go below when I died, then intentionally let myself get killed by all the Elites rushing me. The Achievement didn’t unlock at all. Thanks 343 Industries for wasting an hour of my life. This is why I hate achievement hunting.
like some others, i turned off Blind and Mythic skulls and got it first try thanks to this video. never ran to health or anything, just slashed Elites with the Energy Sword, shot grenades with the Concussion Rifle, rinsed and repeated for about an hour, maybe a little less. my wrists and fingers hurts lol
Perfect strat thank you. Be warned 1/1000 elites will hit you in the back at the perfect angle that even on this difficulty you lose all shields and are down to 1 health bar and then he will hit you again and ruin your run at 127k... be back in another 3 hours
So to solve this in about 35 minutes I used grenades and concussion rifles. If this got too crazy I naded or shot the concussion and things cleared out. Most guides stated to find a a side of the map and stay there. What I did was have EVERY skull on with easy. You beat down every Elite. It’s very easy. They hit you once then you loop around and melee. Every time. They hit, take it/dodge then circle to their back and melee. Stayed very aggressive until the golden generals started coming. Then I got to mid and beat down everyone coming. I could take multiple energy sword hits. It’s really not that hard at all. Just very timely. Never lost my shield once in 35 minutes. General Kidd has a great vid on the beat down mechanic.
It's as Losba in the comments said, turn mythic off and I got it on my first try and not much longer. I was able to use the sword to kill most of my enemies, always making sure there were new swords around me to use and if there wasn't then I'd use the back smack trick. You can probably do this on co-op using that strategy, it was SO MUCH EASIER not having to have those elites hit me and then swing around back over and over to kill them, the sword head on, 2 hits each elite, each sword is capable of killing at least 3-4 elites.
Great guide. I did it second try. While this is a time consuming achievement. Its pretty easy. Stay behind the hydrogen tank because if you go out you're done for.
I did this a couple days ago I just stayed in the area below where you spawn so the Spirits/Phantoms/Wraiths don't shoot at you and the flow of Elite General is slower too, since they only use Energy Swords and Concussion Rifles I highly recommend having both weapons in your inventory so you don't pick up a weapon you don't want by accident, it took me 1 hour and 49 minutes to earn 166,200 Points.
Honestly this achievement should have existed before because when I was younger I played hard and survived for a couple of hours by continuously using an energy sword and any other secondary and got a good damn score
I found that staying in the building you spawn next to worked best for me, I got 165k and could have kept going. I found outside, I would get overwhelmed with being shot from all around me and being rushed by elites. In the building I felt more in control. Once the elites start properly rushing, you get into a rhythm of letting them come in the building then hitting them then them hitting and you dodge and assassinate. Sometimes a few might come in but as long as you keep hitting them to recharge your shield, you should be fine, if you get a bit overwhelmed, you can run around outside then back in to disperse them a bit. Once you do it a lot, the rhythm of it just then feels natural and it's pretty easy and I felt comfortable with it. Some elites might stay back and shoot with their concussion rifles but you can just run forward a bit more towards them to get them to rush you instead. Plasma grenades can pile up on the floor so I would throw a plasma grenade every now and then while away from the area a little to cause the plasmas on the floor to blow up and clear them as sometimes if the elites fire a concussion rifle, it can cause a grenade on the floor to explode and cause a chain reaction to blow others up and can damage you a bit. I had all 10 normal skulls on playing on easy and took me about an hour and 15 mins to get to 165k. Didn't get the damn achievement pop though and doubt I will do it again, damn janky game wasting my time
I reccomend playing this style right beneath the turret tower (after you detach the turrets of course). Basically in this area wraiths will not shoot unless you jump or go to far from the area, directly underneath the turret tower there is a small gap where you can hide in times of crisis (the gap has a small elevated platform that Elites cant physically go up) to make the goal area most effective, pop a bubble directly after punching an elite avoiding any attacks to hinder its regen. I also reccomend holding a concussion rifle and a plasma pistol. The concussion rifle can be easier to destroy clustered plasma grenades, while the pistol allows for faster attack speed. One tip for those suffering from elites surrounding you: throw a plasma grenade near you, but not at an elite, the AI makes the elites dodge out of the way allowing for you to run. Good luck and happy hunting!
After completing Goatroped and LASO Master, I still find this to be the hardest achievement 😂 This guide is a game changer. Slow and steady wins the race, eh?
Ok so turning off some skulls may make it seem easier but the thing is if you spend an hour and fail multiple times you'll be there forever. However if you have them all on it'll be only 25-30 mins. I've tried so many times with a custom setup and it doesn't work even nearly as well. Once you find the muscle memory and right looping tactics you can last forever with all skulls on. I definitely made this harder than it needed. I went to the main building and would stay on one side until they group up. On a large group I would run through the door and use it as a gate so I could kill one at a time. I could also use it to escape for a medpack. assassinations will sometimes get you out of a pinch since it breaks the ai's attacks, but if you do the knife animation in a group you will ensure your doom. oh and coop will spawn double amounts of elites.
So for some dumb reason I thought it was 130000.i played through, about 1 hr and 45 min in with this strategy and let them kill me....realized after it didnt pop
Abuse the black eye skull, pick anywhere you want but try to stick to that area to avoid a bunch of elites spawning and overwhelming you. Go for back strikes and you’ll constantly be at full shields the whole run. If you can manage to get frequent back strikes, health won’t really be an issue.
Thanks for the guide was able to get the achievement in an hour and thirteen minutes with your help! Just wish there was a way to turn off the assassination animations if you get multi kills you can get up too 414 per elite instead of the 260.
I just finished the Lone Wolf level with about 155,000 points in 1hr 32min and the achievement didn’t pop up/register. As soon as I got to that number of points, I let a group of elites kill me to end the game, without skipping the cutscene. I’m not sure if I missed something or did something wrong during that level. I also had 11 skulls on including grunt birthday and IWHBYD skulls on too. Can someone tell me what I need to do next? Or if anyone can help me out with this achievement sometime soon? Let me know. Thanks! 👍👍
Did this on my first attempt this afternoon, easy difficulty, all skulls on, used a depleted energy sword to melee everything. 1 hour 17 mins and 520 elites later 😅
That means you’re dying. It won’t seem like you are if you’re taking tons of damage at the same time, but the only trigger to end the mission is your death.
Does no one no standing in the drop sheild heals you all the way, that's why i would always use it on lasos so i wouldnt have to melee any eniemes to get health
Tried a few times like he showed only getting around 100k. I turned off Mythic and only used swords around the concrete apron at the start and got in first try in 70min.
Something to note for noobs like me is that often removing skulls in an effort to make it easier but longer can actually make it harder in some cases like with catch
@LOAN NGUYEN I thought you meant swipes FROM elites lol I got ya now. I would recommend not using sword and just going for assassinations bashing shields down takes forever
Went into 170000s to be safe and got it! However the location in this guide I think this isn't the optimal position for it. I was to the left of spawn and left of where you got those 2 squads of 3 to spawn. It was way easier there for me. More room to move and most of the elites would get stuck up on the hill near the left house so that kept the amount of spawning elites down
I seem to have the hardest time with this, even following everything you say.. I get charged by 8+ elites who all melee me so fast that I can't kill them fast enough, and I always become overwhelmed at some point when the generals start arriving. Concussion rifles are my kryptonite, they see me from quite a distance and just shower me with rounds as I'm fighting. Seems almost impossible
@@gentlegingie Not yet, Tried a couple years back, made it to Gravemind but couldn't get less than an hour for it, so gave up. Currently 75% through H2 Laso, then reattempting Monopolized.

Lol i accidentally put timing on instead of scoring so i went for about hour and a half.... needless to say im in the top ten scores on easy for this mission. 459,581 points.
I recommend not to get too cocky, if you're completely surrounded in a fist fight they'll hit you all at once and running away and getting out is pure luck, the blasts will surely get you while you're on the run. Take it slowly, but surely you'll get it
So I’m playing the MCC on PC and am doing exactly the same thing but 1-2 wraith tanks keep spawning and they miss like 80% of the time but keep firing non stop. I tried blowing them up using a Spartan laser but then a new one just immediately appears from the mist. Also the transport ships keep taking pot shots at me randomly even when I’m just standing there at the first few mins of the game when nothing is suppose to happen. Has anyone else run into this issue? Was there an update that makes this a no longer possible way to get the achievement. If anyone knows a work around for this I’d really appreciate it I keep resetting but the wraith always appear.
A little late but I heard that if you shoot the top of the wraiths using a spartan laser it completely disables them from shooting the energy balls & they don’t die so no need to worry about them
Is there any reason that you aren't picking up the energy swords? You're still primarily using melee and the Energy Swords can still get an instant kill if you strike the enemies back.
I am not good with these back smacks I get overwhelmed so quickly. Plus, they kind of hang back and do not come up a few at a time and throw grenades. I almost want to turn the Catch Skull off.
are you trying with all skulls (minus cowbell and blind)? it worked for me and when i got overwhelmed i’d just run to the center and then run back and the elites wouldn’t all follow.
you kill enough elite generals in this to get destabilize the entire covenant

What i did was not use the mythic skull but I did use cowbell, I stood in the same area at the start, just so I wouldn't get shot to death, when the golden elites were the only ones coming, I went to the road in front of that area
Then I just kept throwing the grenades to the sides and using only energy swords, which only need two hits and no walking around the elites, I didn't stray too far because that's when the wraith starts shooting at you
Also it seems that there's always gonna be a few elites that stand far away and shoot at you, and I think those are the extra ones that come around, so just don't get too close to them and only focus on the ones that actually come to you. I actually had a plasma rifle elite by himself on the other side of the rode, so instead I went to that side so that the golden elites wouldn't shoot at me, they just stood there in the distance, and I didn't get more that 3-4 elites at the time. Just be careful to not leave the small area you're in because that's when extra elites come to you
I focused on the sword ones first because those are the ones that can kill you very easily, and because you will need a lot of spare swords in case the one you have runs out
Also, I rarely used abilities, I was at risk of dying only once but the sword makes it easy to regain your shields. Having the running ability might come in handy in case you need a sword and there aren't any nearby
It took me longer, around 1:35 hours but it was wayyyy easier this way
Love your content , you explain everything perfectly. Keep it up
Keep in mind, you can juggle both Armor Lock and Drop Shield into your area if you want some emergency abilities. Same with weapons.
Edit: I did it. Thanks a billion.
Original comment below:
Thanks for the setup guide.
Yeah I hate that so much
You have helped me out so much! Thank you!!!
What pisses me off is the fact that I hit their back and it doesn't register... Like I died twice now because of that, literally got gangbanged when they're backs were turned to me. God this achievement is kinda bs and infuriating.
Good ol' frontback syndrome
"They've got front back!"
-Gavin Free
Some tips I found to be:
- pick up the bubble shield. when placed it regenerates health so can be used if you're in a tricky spot
-pick up concussion rifle and use it to shoot plasma grenades that drop around your area
-I could only get consistent assassinations by strafing right around the elites
Thanks for all these guides, definitely wouldn't have gotten "Keep Your Foot on the Pedrogas" without you.
You're amazing man! Too bad we wont be seeing more of you till Infinite comes out
Oh I'll be publishing guides for older achievements I never got around to + guides for all the other MCC games as they come out on PC ;)
If doing it on multiplayer, there’s a sort of safe spot in the back left corner as soon as you spawn in. One a max of 7-8 elites spawn around there but it’s usually 3. Just make sure you go nowhere near the hill or you’ll get the firing squad
I did it!!! thank you silver so much!! you're a fricking legend!!!
I died with exactly 150100 points and I thought I didn’t get it for a second there
why 343
TheSongOfStorms 343 didn’t make reach...
Bryan lozoya they carried this achievement over to the mcc though so it still counts
@@jonathanUnderscore Exactly... Don't know what Bryan Ioaoya is smoking LOL
@@jonathanUnderscore and they started updating reach after bungie left
I did this a couple days ago I just stayed in the area below where you spawn so the Spirits/Phantoms/Wraiths don't shoot at you and the flow of Elite General is slower too, since they only use Energy Swords and Concussion Rifles I highly recommend having both weapons in your inventory so you don't pick up a weapon you don't want by accident, it took me 1 hour and 49 minutes to earn 166,200 Points.
Thanks for putting these videos out. You do a great job of explaining things.
Honestly this achievement should have existed before because when I was younger I played hard and survived for a couple of hours by continuously using an energy sword and any other secondary and got a good damn score
Thanks for guides this pass decade Scorpion! ❤️
Huh.. fancy seeing you here? 🤔

Just got it with this strat, took about 90 mins for me. Thank you!!
It's like you can't get below 75% health of game over
You can get a wraith from outside the map and use it to murder the covenant indefinitely. You need a co-op homie though.
Good channel this lad nice to pick up some new and old achievements on MCC, still bugs where older ones still haven't unlocked after doing them tho
Armor lock right after you punch and you can get a full recharge uninterrupted.
Makes sense!
Playing assassination tower custom games all those years ago really paid off
Man, I just got the achievement. 160K; 2nd try.
Awesome guide!
After completing Goatroped and LASO Master, I still find this to be the hardest achievement 😂
This guide is a game changer. Slow and steady wins the race, eh?
thanks for the guides!!!!
I can’t get past 5k, I just end up getting swarmed by those yellow elites with swords :(
Thanks for the guide was able to get the achievement in an hour and thirteen minutes with your help! Just wish there was a way to turn off the assassination animations if you get multi kills you can get up too 414 per elite instead of the 260.
The bubble shield has a passive shield and health regen while you stay in it - it might help solve the limited health pack issue.
It helps, but it can only regenerate health now
It regenerates shield if you don’t have the Black Eye skull on
I just finished the Lone Wolf level with about 155,000 points in 1hr 32min and the achievement didn’t pop up/register.
So my issue is after about 8 minutes in every attempt, the game automatically goes into cut scene and ends my mission. What am I doing wrong?
That means you’re dying. It won’t seem like you are if you’re taking tons of damage at the same time, but the only trigger to end the mission is your death.
Prohunter211 it’s the helmet breaking after the second crack you get one more “chance” to live
If u lose your shield is basically game over also I recommend turn of the cowbell skull the concussion rifle elites make u go flying
Really good place got it first try. Thanks
I suggest using the dropshield, it cuts out enemy fire from range and heals your health when you stand in it
After almost 2 hours of back smacking elites, achievement was gotten. Got it first try with only one close call
Something to note for noobs like me is that often removing skulls in an effort to make it easier but longer can actually make it harder in some cases like with catch
@LOAN NGUYEN mythic makes it harder actually imo (only tried 2 times maybe its just me) but agreed on blind
@LOAN NGUYEN mythic doesn't affect elite dps in reach to my knowledge. It should take same amount of sword swipes with it off or on
@LOAN NGUYEN I thought you meant swipes FROM elites lol I got ya now.
More room to move and most of the elites would get stuck up on the hill near the left house so that kept the amount of spawning elites down
"I'm excited to take a nap" LOL fk yeah! i relate
Same here
Thanks Silver, These were my final 2 achievements for reach, now just to play multiplayer until ce comes out. Try get some more Koth and CTF medals.
Are you telling me you beat the game on legendary within 3 hours
@@gentlegingie Yeah, reach leg in under 3 hours is easy.
Drakefance5 Have you monopolized? The under 3 for halo 2?
@@gentlegingie Not yet, Tried a couple years back, made it to Gravemind but couldn't get less than an hour for it, so gave up. Currently 75% through H2 Laso, then reattempting Monopolized.
Drakefance5 fak yeah sounds like AIDS
i guess if you can find a super cheese spot you can do this in laso probably within like 15 mintues
how come a sword attack only takes a fourth of your shield?
Once I had like 15k but I had blind on and the death timer killed me because I couldnt see it.
b r u h
Just turn off blind and mythic and grab the shield drop go down the hill where the destroyed walls are not the fuel tanks and stay there if your low grab the shield and throw it and boom ur getting shield and health it took me an hour
Anyone know if you still get this achievement when playing co-op but you die in the Killzone to get the other person the wraith?
You kill around 650- 700 elite generals (Incase anyone wants to know)
Lol i accidentally put timing on instead of scoring so i went for about hour and a half.... needless to say im in the top ten scores on easy for this mission.
459,581 points.
I did EASO, so easy all skulls on.
That's complete bs lol, he literally says in this video that this strategy takes about an hour and a half for 150k
Zarrex go look at the leaderboards. Starlightunion.
@@TappyGilmore I also like to impersonate people for internet points.
They probably don't pay attention to that one area because there is a data pad in the pipe on legendary
Looks like the BOB appears at 9:00mins in. Correct me if I'm wrong though
Just got the achievement thanks!
on any difficulty a wraith spawns outside of the map and picks me off before the waves pick up.
This requires full attention. So difficult
I recommend not to get too cocky, if you're completely surrounded in a fist fight they'll hit you all at once and running away and getting out is pure luck, the blasts will surely get you while you're on the run.
Take it slowly, but surely you'll get it
On Steam it says I need 5 million points to get this achievement? What?
On my first attempt, I didn't use the Tilt skull and died just after passing 30,000. But on my 2nd attempt with Tilt on, I made it to about 260,000
Only took me around an hour and 45 minutes without the mythic skull and just kept swapping out swords
But where can I find a health pack?
Dunno man. I don't think he explained it at all. This game is really tough! I need those health packs!
i reported his video for not enough health packs
I'm suffering from health pack withdrawal

Lol
A little late but I heard that if you shoot the top of the wraiths using a spartan laser it completely disables them from shooting the energy balls & they don’t die so no need to worry about them
Finally got this achievment and I also got rank 37th on the global leaderboards just to flex on anyone struggling ;)
I've tried so many times. Looked at so many guides and still can't do it. Can't even get to 30k.
are you trying with all skulls (minus cowbell and blind)?
it worked for me and when i got overwhelmed i’d just run to the center and then run back and the elites wouldn’t all follow.
Help, i'm stucked the percentage bar doesn't go up no matter what I do. It' been at 50% for like 4 days and played but there's no change. :(
It's not cumulative, you need to get 150k in one playthrough.
Couldn’t you pick up the energy sword and use that to kill the elites?
You could, but it takes less time to just back smack em. Ideally you wanna kill them as quickly as possible so you don't get overwhelmed.
Halo Completionist ok I just figured the sword was a one hit but I guess I was wrong, thanks for telling me tho cause I was gonna try that.
