Hehe, thanks Damian - yes, it was me over-reacting as I saw the car veer towards the curb - my own fault! It was debris on the ground that caused it to veer off, on a clear road the TT02 runs sweet and true. All the best, mate. :O)
Wow, what a fantastic looking car! I thought it might crack 20mph and it did, nice one👍 Shame you scratched the bodyshell😭 Anyway, great video as always, and I'm liking the beard mate😉
Thanks, Barry - I agree with you on the looks! Yeah, I was hoping for 20+, I think it may have recorded a faster speed if I wasn't worrying about those curbs, I only got it flat out a for few moments. Ah well, she is christened now! All the best from Mark... :O)
Oh, Mark - after the perfect job you made of applying the paint and stickers! I know it could have been a lot worse, but it was bad enough! I thought you did a good job of shrugging off the horror you must surely have felt. On the bright side, 21 mph on a 21T brushed motor is excellent from a 4WD chassis during a British February. I'd have been well chuffed with that. Here's hoping that you can touch up those scuff marks and that you have a good Friday!
I know, Del, I know!!! Spent days doing this body and BANG! I did have a little cry for a second there! But as you say, it could have been so much worse, just a few scuffs and scratches, it's definitely second-hand now! The Absima 21T is a great match for the chassis, and it runs silky smooth. Gotta say I was chuffed when I saw the speed meter - I only managed to get her flat out for a few moments so I think she has another mph or two in her yet. Thursday is going well, thanks mate and all the best to you as always!
Thanks Dirk! Oh yes, I was crying a little when it rolled over, after all those hours applying the decals! But it seems OK, just a few scratches. Best wishes to you my friend! 👍
Ford GT, what a beautiful vehicle this one is. I was wrong as usual plumping for 19mph, but seriously it really didn't look like 21mph. Very impressive. Hope the gravel rash wasn't too severe - I could bardly notice anything other than on the wing mirror. Either way a few battle scars is ok. Oh yeah, that's a very impressive beard you're sporting, but just be sure to shave it off before December or else you'll be dragged to the local mall and be given a red cloak to wear...😂. Have a cool one bro....😎👍🏻👍🏻.
It sure is a beauty, mate! Even with a few scuffs, yes the mirror took a beating but overall I was lucky after my shocking driving! To be fair, the car was knocked off course by debris on the tarmac, as you saw it ran better on the car park afterwards. Good guess at 19, but I'm glad it beat 20 - it has more in the tank as I only touched full throttle for a few moments! Haha, the beard is just a bit of fun for the winter (between you and me I shaved it off today). Definitely don't want to be a Santa stand-in!!! All the best my good friend, have a cool one too! :))
Thanks my friend Paul. Oh yes it sure does run smoothly, I think the propshaft and bearings really make a difference in this one, and of course the alloy shocks! Best wishes to you and yours, Paul! 👍
Hiya matey. I can tell that it's half term when you do a mid week vid! That is such a great looking car. I hope it still is after that tumble wumble. I guessed 18mph the same as Rob. 21mph ain't too bad for brushed. It looks like you've got the same issue with lack of grip that I was having. Good for drifting but not so much with going where you want. Uncle Bob was saying about foam tyres for road cars. Might be worth a punt. Anyway, good work on the video and beard growth! Hope you are enjoying your time off. Best wishes to you 😁
Hiya my mate Pete! Oh, you got me right, always a little more time in the school holidays! Yep, the car is Ok but I did have a little weep after it rolled over - all those hours of doing the body ruined in a millisecond! But its just a few scrapes, no shelf queens for me! I did enjoy blasting it around the car park, it was raining a little and the road was wet. But it slides almost as much on dry tarmac. I've tried foam tyres on my M chassis cars and they offer so much grip, time to get some for the TT02! Thanks for the lovely comment, glad you approve of the hair growth, I've got mixed reviews! All the best my mate! :O)
Hey Mark. Well now it really fits the FORD name.. lol They ALL need a little character. (as I like to call it) Nice work on the look of this thing bud. Man that body really is killer. She was drifting there pretty good too. lol Thanks for sharing bud., And the beard. Well? It sure looks different .lol See a fella like myself would take, I would guess a good year. At least. Before I had a beard like that. Actually I would have a patchy, back woods looking, raised by wolves, thing on my face... lol You? You could be a professor. lmao. Looks good bud Have a great rest of the week
Haha, Nick, your comment really made me smile, thanks so much for that! "Raised by wolves" :D Seriously though, yes it really is a killer body, so pretty, even with battle scars! Oh well, it had to happen at some point. Thanks for watching, bud, wishing you a great rest of the week too! :)
Thanks mate! Well, my missus wants the beard gone ASAP! I'm holding on, but I fear she may get the clippers out while I'm asleep!! Oh, and yes, the TT02 is running as smooth as silk! 😎
Nice run there "Father Time" LOL. I have to ask, Is there a razor shortage across the pond? Brother, I feel ya on the roll over, I felt it too when I rolled my TXT-2 for the first time, but that's RC man. Still a good looking kit and she's fast, a Great video!!! ATB my friend, Stay Safe & Healthy, to You & Yours!!!! Chat soon.
Thanks bro! Haha, yes I do look like Father Time - Lou has ordered me to remove it!!! I don't think I've seen a razor since December! I had a little weep when she rolled, but all good my friend, it's a runner, as all of my cars. 21 is fast enough for me, it's more fun going round corners! ATB right back at ya!
I'm not kidding, I guessed 21!!! What do I win? Bummer it flipped over and scraped the beautiful stickers, but then again, it's just a toy... But is it stable enough? Will you improve on it, or is it fine? Mighty beard, by the way, that's a proper effort! You should do some RC boat reviews, you look like a proper seaman, Mark!
Well done, Mads - you win a nice cool pint of strong beer - when can you come and drink it? :D Oh yes, bummer indeed. But as you say it's just a toy and it was made to be displayed here on UA-cam, it would be sad to just leave it on a shelf. It sure is stable enough on a clear track, but the road was littered with tree debris after the recent storms. Hitting the small twigs at 21mph was what made it veer off course. As you see in the car park after, it runs very smoothly. Oh, the beard is just a bit of fun for the winter - it's not a keeper! All the best, mate!
That really is properly good looking!! Oooo Mate - I CRINGED when you rolled it! 😵 21mph.... and on cold Tyres and cold Tarmac. That's actually impressive!! I do need one of those Speed Meters, obviously not for a while. .... LOVE the Bierd!! I've grown mine back as well. Ya know, I THINK I sent you an email - but I can't remember! I'm so messed up!
Thanks Carmine, thanks for the awesome support as ever. Cringe is the right word, matey! I'm happy with the speed, it's so smooth and quiet and is more fun in the CORNERS! As for the beard, Lou has ordered it to disappear! We will see. I'll check my mail, take care, mate! 👍
Beautiful isn’t it that gt40 is stunning , nice job on it Mark, a shame it grip rolled :( but still looks great though. Good to see it evening used :) take care
You know it, fella! Remember your GT inspired me to get one! So I'm blaming you!!!! Haha, but the roll was all down to my overreaction and bad driving... All the best, Andy - cheers! :O)
Many thanks! Oh, it did get a few scrapes but it's not as bad as I initially feared! That's a good idea, I think we can make a little road track and race it against another car, should be fun! :O)
@@MarkBryanRC that’s great to hear. If you want a tricky track you can use ropes like this: Tamiya TT01 Onroad Racing | Brushless Upgrade ua-cam.com/video/PPdwS2DfISY/v-deo.html
Ouch bro! I learned the hard way about doing speed runs with nice bodies. Had to redo my Nurburgring STI and GT4 Mustang. Now its generics for driving fast lol.
Ouch indeed! Thanks Bro! I'm inclined to agree with you about generics for fast driving, but as I'm doing this for UA-cam I thought it needed the iconic body fitted! I might think again, next time. Cheers!
Loving the beard as much as your Vids - keep them going - Thank you! I have one question re the TT-02 models, I am in the process of upgrading mine to Tamiya prop shaft and a few other bits. What if and a big what if - what are your thought on running a dry rear diff (No grease totally clean) and diff putty installed inthe front dif? Any thoughts?
Thank you too! Your support is much appreciated. As for your question, I wouldn't be too happy with a dry diff, just a little grease would help keep things cooler and smoother. By locking the front diff, you will have difficulty turning and the rear will push the front. It's worth an experiment, though, you can always remove the putty if it doesn't have the desired effect. Cheers! :)
Joking aside, my friend, it really is a great handling TT02, I'm really chuffed with what I've done to this one - it will be running a lot more this year! All the best. :-)
Great video. I was wondering how you took the second footage of the car in motion. Am trying to find a way to create a video of the car while it's moving but am not sure what's the right approach. Thanks in advance.
Many thanks! To get the footage of the car in motion I use a GoPro camera mounted on a "selfie stick" (an extendable pole with a camera mount on the end). My friend was driving the car and I was running alongside the car with the camera on a stick! Hope this helps!
@@MarkBryanRC Thanks for your response. Would have never guessed that you were running alongside the car. Must have gotten some good exercise there. Anyway, this helps. Am going to try it and see how it comes out.
Cheers, Phil! One day I will try a 3s, but I only got 1 LiPo at the minute! It would be a lot of fun to try 3s, but yes, a fan will be essential. Many thanks, bud! :)
Mark there is a imposter taking over your channel some guy with a big white beard. Any way see thats why we can't have nice things rolling over that beautiful Ford GT for shame lol.
Where? Haha, thanks Kev, I'll look out for that bloke, you can't trust anyone these days! Apart from crying after the roll, it was a good afternoon out playing with RC's, can't complain! All the best, dude!
Ive been having issues with my TT02 Rally car, the front axle that goes into the diff just falls out every time i take it off road, any ideas about how i could sort this? Any help appreciated
Hi Archie. No problem. Strange that the axle falls out, I'm assuning the driveshaft (dogbone) is falling out? If so, it could be that you are missing the O-ring that goes in the drive cups, or you may need to add ann extra )-ring to make sure the dogbone isn't too loose in the cups. Also, reducing the amount of steering will help (you can turn down the level of steering on your transmitter or set the steering end points so that the wheels don't turn as far. Hope this helps.
@@MarkBryanRC Do you remember when it would cost you around $2500 to get a plane and you had to build it yourself? Now you can get a foamie for $50 and have a grand old time.

These look sick brother proper man thinking about one as a light speed run car if my mate could build it for me could you tell me what else needed to make it brushless and the specs so can have it doing 60 70 like most are doing with cheap systems im just not sure what would need to buy mate 🙏💚👊
Hi Jordan and thanks for the comment! Yeah, this is a sick car indeed! All you need is the kit, a radio system and a servo. Then buy a low turn brushless motor and ESC plus a battery. Take a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/TPSYhAbh-GE/v-deo.html It's got a speed passion 5.5T, and did 60mph, geared 40/55 but that's over geared, it would have broken 70 easy enough with a slightly lower ratio. But TBH mate, if you just stick in a cheap brushless combo with 4000 to 5000kv, it will hit over 40mph and probably be fast enough! Try this one: www.modelsport.co.uk/product/etronix-photon-21w-system-with-90t-4350kv-motor-45a-esc-383632
@@MarkBryanRC no problem atal mate yours is sick!! And that is quick and you know something mate they have brought out a carbon fibre and Alloy replica of the tt01 and all the reviews saying it's good 100 quid off eBay mate so was going grab one of them and upgrade as I go starting with the spur gear I was going to go for a 61t metal spur 48p and a 23t metal pinion gear do you think that will be ok mate? And not over geared or anything mate or do you suggest something else only going to be on 2s aswell mate to try and keep costs low 🙏💚👊
Giving that video a watch now brother also mate do you know we're the best place is for replacement parts like metal diff housing for tt01 mate most helpful mate and hope you make a video soon and are these diffs along same lines as wltoys need opening every so often to grease I assume sorry for the questions🙏💚👊
@@sTuPiDiScOoL_ Cheers, bud! Yeah that TT01 sounds cool, and a good price! I would say stick with the standard gearing first (you don't have to pay any more for that!!!) because a higher KV motor will spin about 3x the speed of the stock motor, so a stock 21mph becomes 66mph on the same gearing! If you gear a fast spinning motor to high it might not be able to pull the gearing and will just overheat and could even burn out! So try stock gears and take it from there. That's my advice anyway, mate! Good luck, sounds like a sick project! 😜👌👍
@@sTuPiDiScOoL_ Just thought, mate - if you keep the stock motor at first, I reckon it'll be OK on the higher gearing you mentioned, might be worth sticking a heatsink on it (the motor) though!
I race TT02's one a slightly tuned standard one which is mine and my son has the type s top of the range with 21t brushless motor and lipo I mine has a black can sport tune motor with NiMH battery I still can beat him racing 😁. But some of the top guys can run very quick times nearly as quick as the non boosted TC X-rays and the like which is mad.
Cheers, David! It would be so fast on 3s, if I had one!!! As for the gyro, it might have saved the day. My fault for over-correcting as I saw the curb approaching! :O)
🤣I know!!! Yeah, I got a Hyper-Go 14301 that hits 41 mph out the box! But that's just the point, it came out of a box... This beautiful Tamiya was assembled and painted by me and the process was very rewarding (although I know it's not everyone's cup of tea!) You can make these TT02's go fast, I'm currently in a speed competition run by @poorboysrc and the leaders are clocking well over 100 mph!
@@MarkBryanRC Oh for sure, the build is part of the fun. I've been building since the 80's (first was a tamiya rough rider), have a few TL-01 shelf queens, kyosho VR-1 nitro, Tamiya nitro NSX, a whole bunch. I've been working too much so looking to build something, hence why I found your channel. Lots of nice bodies for the TT-02 platform. When you were doing the speed run I was interested because I'm not up on all the new electronics, 21 turn motors, brushless, 2s 3s, it's all greek to me lol I watched your upgrade video and am going to do most, have to look at the electronics and motor to get some real speed. I'll be disappointed if I don't hit 40 mph the first run.
Cool to know you are a builder, too, I also started building and collecting in the 80's. There sure are tons of great bodies for the TT02, just about to start the Subaru 2008 WRC body with all the LEDs! Ah, yeah there are so many motor choices, it's a minefield! I put a cheap $10 Absima in a TT02 and that hit 29mph. But a cheap and cheerful 4000kv brushless combo will get you to 40 easy! Have fun!
@@MarkBryanRC The kick in the pants in my collection is the porsche 959 dakar rally, I built it! (dummy) and to top it off, painted it RED lol....I only ran it a few times and broke an A arm in a move....Unbuilt that thing is worth enough to buy another motorcycle! lol

Hehe, thanks Damian - yes, it was me over-reacting as I saw the car veer towards the curb - my own fault! It was debris on the ground that caused it to veer off, on a clear road the TT02 runs sweet and true. All the best, mate. :O)
Slowmo “Noooooo” Looks like it hurt. It was scooting! Awesome!
Oh yeah! I was really crying for a minute after the hours it took to apply those decals! But it's OK, after all, these cars were meant to RUN!!! :D
Awesome test run Mark💪👍, althought the roll-over hurt from seeing it😯
Thanks Dirk!
Hi Mark, this car turned out really nice and it was very smooth on the bumpy tarmac. Great build 👍🏾
Thanks my friend Paul. Oh yes it sure does run smoothly, I think the propshaft and bearings really make a difference in this one, and of course the alloy shocks! Best wishes to you and yours, Paul! 👍
It’s truly a gorgeous build. I see a display shelf in it’s future 😀
@@3TRCGarage You read my mind, Paul - I'm definitely going to look after this one in the future!
Very nice build Mark looks awesome great run.. hope it’s not to scratched
Thanks very much, Peter - luckily there a just a few scuffs, still looking pretty!!! :D
@@MarkBryanRC well you can't please everyone and you'll have the last laugh when you get all that extra work in department stores in December 🎅😂

Actually I would have a patchy, back woods looking, raised by wolves, thing on my face... lol You? You could be a professor. lmao. Haha, Nick, your comment really made me smile, thanks so much for that! "Raised by wolves" :D
Seriously though, yes it really is a killer body, so pretty, even with battle scars! Oh well, it had to happen at some point. Thanks for watching, bud, wishing you a great rest of the week too! :)
I have officially got beard envy now, well done on the the beard ! This car is looking awesome and going well !

Oh yes, bummer indeed.
21mph.... and on cold Tyres and cold Tarmac.

What a cool car, hope it didn’t get too many scratches. You should put up some cones to see how it handles on something track like 👍
Many thanks! Oh, it did get a few scrapes but it's not as bad as I initially feared! That's a good idea, I think we can make a little road track and race it against another car, should be fun! :O)

Cheers!
Thought I'd clicked on the wrong video for a secand there... What a beard 😂👍
Haha, cheers, Mark! I must admit the beard is starting to take over my face! Time to buy a trimmer!!! :P
Cheers! :)
@@MarkBryanRC The TT-02 Type RS came with a front alum diff block, but I run a TT-01 front one-way in mine.
it looked really good in the parking lot

Take a look at this video:
ua-cam.com/video/TPSYhAbh-GE/v-deo.html
It's got a speed passion 5.5T, and did 60mph, geared 40/55 but that's over geared, it would have broken 70 easy enough with a slightly lower ratio.
But TBH mate, if you just stick in a cheap brushless combo with 4000 to 5000kv, it will hit over 40mph and probably be fast enough! Try this one:
www.modelsport.co.uk/product/etronix-photon-21w-system-with-90t-4350kv-motor-45a-esc-383632
