This was the best playthrough of Fear and Hunger I’ve ever seen. Most people rush through the dialogue and flavor text so fast that it’s impossible to follow the story or even keep track of their equipment/spells, but you paced this out beautifully and it was so much fun to watch. I bet a lot of people are going to fall in love with this game just because of this video.
You gameplay is really great it shed some understanding on the whole situation can't believe I sit through 4 hours of gameplay you did a very good job! Keep up the great work 🤝

@@rhysb7228 thats the reason why im here lol i got stuck in the prison - level 2 part didnt know what i was doing wrong, either i got a bad seed which i read its unlikely or im too blind to see an entrance to keep going so i had to restart the game 😂

I'm just done with playing this game for today, at this current moment, I had this exact video all the time paused while playing because I didn't know that the lever lowers the cage and I have something to say: it really feels like this game just messes with you the more you play. And I don't even mean from the conventionally intended things, like "omg you sacrificed girl lol now you don't have additional 25 dmg and a punching bag, get fucked lmao", no, I mean it about the combat. You get so many fucking misses it becomes impossible. The first time I fought salmonsnake I easily figured out that poking eye and then head+tongue is the way and killed it no problem. Then, after dying to the armour, when I understand that I can just throw the explosive vial to instantly break all the pieces and I'll get one at the Nostradamus wannabe's place, when I fight salmonsnake, I get so many fucking misses and it smashes more. 5 MISSES ON THE CHURCH FELLAS!!!!!!! (ignored because forgot they drop soul stones) I just hope that if it's intended, then it resets the next day so it's just "don't play this game for too long" and not "the more time you spend in the game, the more misses you'll have.
Nah, it's mostly random I just got 6 book from 1 random bookshelf on early levels by using the lucky coin, 1 Alchemila vol.1 and 3, THREE empty scrolls, and one random book God taketh and God giveth

I enjoyed your lore videos and i appreciate no commentary playthroughs, though i hope you have a commentaried playthrough so you can explain lore here and there while playing so it puts it all together. Cant wait to finish watching and i cant wait for when you do Fear and Hunger 2, the lore videos on those have me curious as to how this world progresses in time. Like how do we go from medieval to an almost modern era like existence, and how does life work in this world. It seens like a terrfying existence.

I listened to some videos that spoke about what F&H is about and its in game lore, and ever since then, I continued to do down the rabbit hole. I don’t what what it was, maybe because I like H&P lovecraft and beserk, but I just kept going and going to learn more about this game 🤣 Eventually, I saw this play through and I was engrossed. The pace of the game was easy to follow, and I do echo the same sentiment of gratitude like a couple of the comments; the player did not rush and did not skip the text. With all this being said, Well done! Thank you for this video! Maybe a sequel play through as well?? 😅 just asking. I

One thing bugs me to no end in this game. After such self-sacrifice, why Cahara had to die by the girl/F&H hands? Why this god would kill her seemingly guardian? Or was it because Cahara couldn't flee the god of depth's bowels? Also, I assume Le'garde and D'arce died the same way? Le'garde didn't mind going there, despite his insistence in staying in the dungeon in order to ascend? Maybe that was an oversight, Idk.
The music that plays in the realm of the new gods is so haunting... Everytime I heard a sound that was similar to the beginnings of that song I just felt instant dread
I found the game because of SuperEyePatchWolf and tried it 2 years ago ragequitting almost instantly not committing to the grind, but your videos really helped a lot and I'm now loving this game, many thanks!

why deos character have to smoke to reduce fear and stuff? I dont see them afraid. And why D'arce have to cut off her arm? Why do you need to cut off the arm of the enemy, to make them deal less damage to our party? what will happen if the party member's mind meter empty? Why wouldn't you read all the books in your inventory?
The dungeon is called the Dungeon of Fear and Hunger and its aura causes an unnatural hunger on the characters as well as drains their sanity which is why you need to replenish their mind meter, and if it gets empty, they can leave your party or will get a fear of everything causing them to take more damage and do less damage to enemies. She had to cut her arm off cause it was infected which will eventually lead to death. I didn't read all of the books cause it takes a while and messes up the flow of the stream, but you can find all the book contents on the wiki.
3:23:53 it would be cool if you could “soothe” him or get him to let you pass if you wore the crown. It could have given him some closure that he wasn’t abandoned. 💔

Same. This rabbit hole is one of the creepiest ones out there. Moonscorching happens in the sequel and it's caused by the moon god. Moonscorched morph into the worst version of themselves, an abomination with the shape of their fear, insecurities and guilt

I've wanted to get into this game for the lore, atmosphere and cool monster designs, but I have to say, the dialogue comes off as immature at times in a way that breaks immersion, so much of the gameplay is just checking boxes for random item finds, and in general the horror is oversaturated (lacks restraint) such that it feels like an edgy 15 year old's understanding of scary and gritty. Also like 3 typos/mispellings in the opening text sequence is not a great sign. Only an hour into this video (tho not my first exposure to this game) so maybe it becomes more tasteful and sophisticated by the end. I definitely like what they're going for, and I'm currently designing a ttrpg system and megadungeon in a similar vein. I guess there's stuff I can learn from it, both for positive inspiration and what not to do.

The world of fear and hunger is purposely unsatisfying, unfair, and cruel, unfortunately.
Honestly I found your playthrough very unique. Le'garde, D'arce, Girl in the party and you went for ending A

Hi and welcome in :) it was infected and I didn't have a green herb to cure it, so she would have died if I entered a new area 4-5 times, so I had to cut it off to keep her alive

Same. This rabbit hole is one of the creepiest ones out there. Moonscorching happens in the sequel and it's caused by the moon god. Moonscorched morph into the worst version of themselves, an abomination with the shape of their fear, insecurities and guilt

It was infected and I didn’t have a green herb to cure it, if infection is left on after moving to a few new areas, the character will automatically die, so it was better to cut it off and save her than risk her dying
I've wanted to get into this game for the lore, atmosphere and cool monster designs, but I have to say, the dialogue comes off as immature at times in a way that breaks immersion, so much of the gameplay is just checking boxes for random item finds, and in general the horror is oversaturated (lacks restraint) such that it feels like an edgy 15 year old's understanding of scary and gritty. Also like 3 typos/mispellings in the opening text sequence is not a great sign. Only an hour into this video (tho not my first exposure to this game) so maybe it becomes more tasteful and sophisticated by the end.
I definitely like what they're going for, and I'm currently designing a ttrpg system and megadungeon in a similar vein. I guess there's stuff I can learn from it, both for positive inspiration and what not to do.

That said, this is obviously a terrible game to watch, unless one enjoys reading the phrase: "You search the X for anything useful" more times than one can count. Very tedious.

Hi there :) you have to sleep in the tower in the far eastern side of Ma’habre in the past then go through the dream and fight the Skin Granny. Then Nilvan the Endless one will give you the soul if you agree to her request
