One little error about the video, the BTWBT wasn't cancelled after one month, it ran from april 2012 to February 2013 and was her first global tour in which she visited most continets, it was cancelled one month after it started the north american leg of the tour which would be the last leg of the tour due to the labrum tear after excesive work.
As someone who absolutely adores this song (and even considers it one of their favorite Gaga songs), this deep dive was REALLY impressive, I never even knew that a Music Video was originally planned for Do What U Want even though reflecting on it, it WAS pretty weird
I did assume that the reason why the video never saw the light of day was because of R. Kelly, but knowing what the content/plotline of that video was going to be... 😬 😬 😬 Yeah, I'm glad this one is staying in her hubcap diamond starred vault, her career would have never recovered from it.

Gaga wearing the flannel and glasses is a Terry Richardson thing. he often got celebrities both male and female to wear his glasses or shirt. its an old trend of 00s "party photographers"& vice magazine to have cute girls mimic a distinct look. (think like the moustache craze for example). usually it's nude girls wearing his clothes implying that they had sex, but he also has dozens of polaroids showing said sex. theres also a handful of male celebs who he got to participate with him in those pics. the most incriminating info against Terry Richardson is pretty much his own work. it's wild how he'd take photos of Obama and A-list celebs in between coked-out gangbang pics... His style was so successful, it was definitely a driving force behind Vice magazine, Supreme, American Apparel, the odd future oldie music video etc...Things really peaked in 2013/14 with this, Miley Cyrus, blurred lines, and they had all tried to tone it down & made weird somewhat unsuccessful artistic choices in the years following that. however it still took a few more years before the general public came to their senses about how disgustingly sleazy this guy is. He was one of the most in demand photographers for years even despite all these known claims against him. Terry was going strong right up to the point the case broke news. I truly thought he'd never get cancelled
people love to reminisce over "indie sleaze" these days but they kinda forget that the "sleaze" portion of that phrase was embodied by people like Terry and other photographers and artists (NYC mostly) who would prey on and document girls at their most drugged out and vulnerable state
GA GA is just right for us all.

Richardson getting his subject to dress in his glasses (and flannel) is a... thing.
This was a very controversial video, but not only for the collaborations with R Kelly and Terry Richardson and the video itself, but what happened behind the scene’s. A couple of years ago I stumbled on the internet on a confession from a girl who was one of the dancers in the video of “do what u want”.It is now removed from the internet but I remember everything what she said.
She told the situation on the set was chaotic, and there was hot chocolate served, her hot chocolate was “spiked” with a drug.She became very dizzy and was moved to a separate room where she was raped by a guy who was a powerful person in the recording industry.He treated her if you tell somebody ,you get no work anymore in this business. She told that she contacted Lady Gaga and her management about that she was raped.But they didn’t reply her.After that she didn’t get any work in the showbizz any more.Now she suffered anxiety and depression and have no trust in people anymore. If this confession was true,why didn’t Gaga and her management help her? Especially because Gaga last year confessed she also was raped by a record producer years ago!
I don't believe gaga was raped but what I do believe is that is a good back up story to fall on if the greater public finds out that producer she claimed raped her is her boyfriend and those weren't her songs on the first album they belonged to another girl who died that was working with her boyfriend
Fun fact: R. Kelly no longer receives royalties from his songs. All proceeds that would've gone to him now go to his victims. So you can once again morally stream "I Believe I Can Fly"... if you can stomach listening to him, that is.
random note but I vividly remember BitTorrent releasing those free bundles in the early 2010s. death grips the money store even had a 6 track free sampler released thru it. it was my introduction to the band
