Cleanse Your Dreadlocks' Energy

  • It's good to both wash and cleanse your dreadlocks, locs, dreads energetically. Respectfully learning and utilizing traditional smudging practices from Indigenous cultures is an easy place to start your own intentional practice of releasing old patterns, attachments and beliefs from your auric field and the energy in your locs without having to cut them off to feel free from the past. I try to do this once a month but, especially, during times when I feel most weighed down emotionally.
Separate your dreadlocks completely EVERY TIME YOU WASH since the hair tangles up when it gets wet and it's easier to separate when it's damp because the hair is more stretchy. Be careful to avoid breakage.
I roll the dread with pressure, pulling from root to end to lengthen, smooth each dreadlock and release water from it. Roll in the direction you want the loc to fall. Typically this is done clockwise but, as I get to the front, sometimes I want the left side to go away from my face so I change direction.
Drying in the sun is the best way to absorb the solar energy. They dry fast this way and you will avoid growing any type of mildew or mold in your locked up hair by removing all the water.
Make this a meditation, with pure intention to love and honor yourself and your hair. It will help to change your life! ✨🙏✨

Interesting. So, I've commented a few times and asked questions. I just noticed i have a patch of sticky hair on the top back of my head.
Quick reminder of my hair: 3 weeks no comb, caucasian , loose curl/wavy, grown for 6 years. I've been using dollylocks shampoo maybe thats whats causing this sticky patch on my hair? I was washing twice per week with it. Should i just go back to just water?

Hmmm I don't know much about their products other than I tell my own clients to never ever use the locking spray or pepper. The shampoo should be simple unless it's got an ingredient that helps hair lock up. That's pretty weird.
I use Trader Joe's tea tree single and I've never once had any kind of issue with it so that's the only one I can truly support.

It could also be your skin not getting washed out of the tradition area mixing with the shampoo and creating a gum. That happens sometimes. You've watched my washing video?

@briana_coolbreeze_gahipsy yeah but my hair isn't dreaded yet it's still in the beginning stage. Maybe I'll just switch to shampoo once per week but still wet every 3rd day. I'll go to trader Joe's and look for it

@briana_coolbreeze_gahipsy maybe me saying that wasn't necessary. I'm just going to focus on scrubbing that area better
Thank you for your insights and taking the time to talk
