I wish all this madness and violence would end.

if you were in a situation like that, your body would freeze, and you would of entered survival mode and find the nearest spot to hide. you wouldn't be able to think because your mind is still processing the fact that there's a gunman in the classroom. a situation where probably everyone in the classroom has never experienced in real life.

further more, the fact that your classmates, who you've probably talked to and become friends with are being killed right before your eyes?
lunging at a man with a gun while hes re-loading is easier said than done.
and i bet any money that almost all you people who say that it should of been done would of still hid under that desk just like Derek did.
    like someone previously said.

Yes, he was so cowardly, to be afraid of a maniac with a loaded weapon, while you are soooo brave. I mean, what bravery it takes to criticize a shooting survivor from behind an anonymous screen. Go to VT and say it to the face of all those football players and Army cadets, that is, if you have the balls.

Alright lets try and make this easier to understand. Imagine you are in a room, someone walks in shoots about 8 people, drops his empty clip and reloads within 5 seconds. Now im assuming he would have shot people in front first, so your in the back of the room. Your telling me you would have run through the chaos of what just happened and try to tackle someone with a gun? Not knowing how many clips he has in the first place.

Get over your egos for a few fucking minutes and realize what a tragedy this is. Brave souls did what the could to protect others from FURTHER harm. Love and light go out to all.
