In this video I show you how to setup and configure the webcam for first use, using Mac OSX 10.10 Yosemite. From there, I show you how to configure and use your QNAP TS-451 as the primary recording location for your security videos, using the included surveillance station app from QNAP.

It gives great clear footage and being able to run it through the NAS is great for saving the footage too. Can it be used remotely say over iOS too?

***** Yes it can Robert. I have it set to work over WAN & LAN, through web browsers and apps. You have to forward some ports on your router to the WAN IP of your internet provider, but after that it's all good!

You'll need to forward your external IP to the LAN IP of your camera and put that into the foscam viewer app!

+esp heroz This is in more details to Mr. RMalayen's good response mentioned above: Your home router has an outside IP address designated by your local internet provider and usually your inside IP addresses are something like 192.168.0.whatever, with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. You'll need to tell your router how to communicate those IPs to your mobile app by identifying which of those local IPs are being used by the home camera devices (ex: say Cam 2 is on 192.168.0.9 and/or Cam 3 on 192.168.0.7). Therefore, you'll login to the router and config Cam 2's sittings - IP address, TCP/UDP/Both, and importantly the Ports (HTTP, HTTPS, and ONVIF).
The easiest way is to communicate through a port range using the outside IP scheme. If your outside IP is 13.198.255.148, then if you set Cam 3 (192.168.0.7 device) on port 88, then you'll more than likely configure your mobile device with the following: Camera Type H.264; IP Address/URL Path of 13.198.255.148; Port # is 88 (or sometimes you can use 13.198.255.148:88); then your foscam username and password. Then you're done. This method, to me, is the easiest way to set things up - Outside IP through Port Ranges, meaning all cameras will also carry different port numbers, which is the identifier using a static outside IP address. Also an FYI: don't forget to turn off the "Obtain IP From DHCP" setting. If not, you'll be pissed when you're far away from home wanting to do a LIVE view through the cameras, but your mobile phone doesn't communicate anymore because the local DHCP changed your camera's local IP addresses. Having it disabled means that your cameras will ALWAYS carry the same LAN IP addresses.
Know this has been 9 months later, but hope it still helps. Good Luck and God Bless.
