Me too. Always so gentle. I saw a couple of tiny fledged babies the other day and my heart melted.

What a lovely way to spend a few quiet moments. Thank you for sharing! I have 3 Mourning Doves that visit under my feeders and they love my bird bath. I adore them!

It amazes me how doves and pigeons are able to use their beak as a straw to slurp water

Those Mourning Doves can be quite feisty. I have a platform feeder that they compete for with the Blue Jays. I would say that Blue Jays are the toughest most aggressive feeders out there (wish they would go away because they can swallow as many as seven or more nuts at a time) and they dominate that feeder most of the time. However, when the Mourning Doves get in there first and the Jays try to bully them out the Doves will put their wings up and keep the Jays out. They are not giving up ground to them once they finally get a chance to eat! These are definitely not the Doves of peace. They will even fuss with each other. As with every bird species there is a pecking order and those further down the line are made to wait their turn.

I absolutely love sitting on my balcony listening to the doves wake up around dawn. Their cooing is so sweet and calming... And when they come and go beneath our feeders they make the cutest "hoo-hoo-hoo" sound that always makes me giggle! It's also cute how they use our heated birdbath as a jacuzzi in the winter; they sit with their tails dipped in for the longest time! Such precious birds!!!

I must have 30 mourning doves at my feeders and hanging out on my fence these days. Them and the American Goldfinch are here in overwhelming amounts right now…with their little ones.

One of the purest of birds-- used as sacrifices in the first and second temple in Jerusalem==have several on our roof throughout the day-- we take this as a good sign-- they build little nests everywhere and anywhere-- They are special to our Lord (and us)

Beautiful! Every year mine return, have 6 babies and start all over the next year. Some of those babies come back as well. So beautiful how you have that set up!👍👍👍🥰

    This was nice and peaceful.
About the middle of the video, a dove raises one wing all the way and holds it up high for a long time. It was so neat, and it looked like a DeLorean 😄.

So beautiful. I had a flock of mourning doves the other day at my bird baths. Can you tell me what camera you are using?
