Well. You made the point!
This is not one I laugh out loud at but as you said their comedy and comedy in general sometimes is about being on the edge. But I do appreciate that you are honest and not just saying it’s good not to offend anyone.
Also, if I am correct the line you reacted to was when they sang “Jesus is a w…er” but its a very rough translation, in Swedish the meaning are the same but they do a sort of sophisticated wordplay that I can’t even begin to try in English so the translation doesn’t exactly do it justice but I understand why it was difficult to do it better.
I think something like "masturbatory equilibrist" would be a much better translation. It would, for the most part, keep the tone of the original. Wanker is a *really* bad translation, as it's mostly just an insult.
That being said, I don't think he would be very pleased with that either, just a tad bit less miffed about that sentence in particular.
@@LILLALAUMANi agree. "Wanker" is too strong of an insult to be an accurate translation, you made the translation better if one wishes to understand the lyrics more literally.

Actually, most Swedish people think you are ridiculous with your faith in a fictional character from a book you never read.
In short, Grotesco don't make fun of Jesus, they make fun of religious people.

I am not religious at all but I have never found this one funny at all... my first reaction when I saw you reacted to it was "oh no" 😅
Its probably this.. one need to be Swedish or Scandinavian to understand the satire of this?
In anycase.. it was more of an American stereotypes of a church meting!?
However ask any Scandinavian if they are religiuse, 80% wold say no, then ask them if they are member of any church, 60% vould say yes!
Outside of that context, they are more like Monthy Phyton in UK.. like "Life of Brian"!
