  • This is a video giving an introduction to North Ridge's new mobile PA system which we will be using for small outdoor events, BBQ's and church retreats.
The system consists of a 12 mono channel 4 stereo channel analog mixer, two stereo power amplifiers for left, right, monitor 1 and monitor 2. Each output channel has a 31 band eq for system adjustment. Also included is one wireless microphone, a quad channel compressor, CD player/recorder and effects unit.
Power comes into the rack via a Neutrik PowerCon connector. That is then fed into a Furman voltage regulator, this also goes into a rack mounted power conditioner on the front with lights.
If you haven't already, make sure to check out my new website dbbaudio.com for the latest news and updates!

Drew, given your experience with the x32, have you, or would you consider using Behringer's Rack or Core products in a mobile rig like this? Would love to hear your thoughts. It's budget season!

This is a nice video demonstrating your setup. Coming from a recording studio environment, I feel like a patch bay would be beneficial for an unexpected channel/outboard failure, as well as quick signal path rerouting. Do you feel like a patch bay is a worthy investment for such situations, or is it simply not worth the effort for the rack's purpose?

Whats the set up you have in the back where the power con and speaker connections are? Is that something you made or bought? I like it. My set up is very similar but yours is cleaner in the back with that power con thing.

That is not a PA System, its an SR System. PA=Public Address: Usually powered speakers for speaches, church or meeting halls. SR= Sound Reinforcement: Usually passive speakers for sound and music reproduction like bands, concerts and DJs.

If you are thinking about building your own panels this is what you will need .
    1 each 3/4 Greenlee Punch
    1 each 15/16 Greenlee Punch
Those will work with both the Male and female XLR's and the 15/16 knockout punch works with the powercons and speakon's ..
If you are going to RIVET the connectors to the panels you will need a good riveter and you will use 1/8" Steel centered rivets. Drill your holes 9/32 I think it is , The Drill just up from the 1/8" .
If you are going to Screw them on then you will need a box of 4-40, 1/2 Screws as well as the matching nuts with the star washers on them . You will ALSO Need a small Bottle of "BLUE" Locktight . When putting the screws and nuts together put a small dab on the screw and tightin them down . BLUE LOCKTIGHT can become your Best Friend in the WORLD ..
Have fun And God Bless ....

    • @benballard7521
