i have been removing the plate all in one piece. i didn't realize it came off in two pieces. i have been putting the bobbin case in first, then the case in one piece. everytime i take it apart to clean, it jams and jams and jams. it seems like i have to take it apart three or four times. could it be that it has to be done in the two pieces for the bobbin case to fit in just right. have been so frustrated. appreciate a response.
Jenn Greene , I just looked up for my brother vx-810 and it said to oil every day if you use it a lot. Or once a week . Or less if hardly ever used. I didn't think the other reply made any sense not to oil. I guess I can't add a picture to this I tried to add a screenshot of the page in the manual where it says to oil it it's page 30 on the brother vx-810 manual that you can download or just look at if you Google it.
Thank you very much.was deferring the job due to fear of ruining the machine.excellent concise video:)
Glad it helped

A bit vague…I’m looking for a video that shows me exactly where to put the oil in my brother XL 2610
You do NOT oil your Brother Computerized Machine. Be sure to store it in a clean, dry place --- never a garage.

Great tutorial, Took all the fear of doing something wrong. Thank you!
should we put oil on the machine? i know old kind of sewing machine (non electrical) need to put the oil, but am really not sure about the modern one
No, any lubrication put on these machines is done by technicians. You do not want to damage the computer.

No need of oil?
No regular oiling of computerized machines. Any lubrication they end up needing is applied when serviced by those trained to do it.
