What's SO stupid about the 12-6 is I've seen breaks w elbows from ALL angles. Elbows cause damage no matter how they are thrown. Since the spine is an illegal target, the 12-6 would do no more damage than any other elbow. Too bad there were no REAL martial artists on that committee. So the elbow rule is as critical as the rule about only fighting between start and end bells. In no sport can you go back after the after the game/match and overrule a call made by a ref. Imagine if someone went back and was like in game 7 of the 2010 NBA finals there was a bad call and there shouldn’t have been a foul, we need to overturn the outcome and 2010 NBA champs are now a different team, or in tennis or in football. I had a bet on Twood for this fight, just to win. Due to the mistake the bookies refunded my bet (instantly), had Bruce buffer made the correct announcement I obviously would have lost my bet. But its not because of the stupidity of the 12 to 6 rule that they want to overturn the loss, its because of that Hamil wasnt able to continue due to his shoulder being hurt, which u can see when he points to his shoulder as Mazzagatti asks him (a deaf guy) if he can continue.

What's SO stupid about the 12-6 is I've seen breaks w elbows from ALL angles. Elbows cause damage no matter how they are thrown. Since the spine is an illegal target, the 12-6 would do no more damage than any other elbow. Too bad there were no REAL martial artists on that committee. Big John was the only knowledgeable guy there but he wasn't in a position to set the rules.

It definitely should not be overturned. All rules are equally important to each other and form the solid framework to which the game of the sport is played. So the elbow rule is as critical as the rule about only fighting between start and end bells.
Fighters know that the elbow rule exists and sometimes turn away from their opponent intentionally, knowing that it will protect them from elbows.

In no sport can you go back after the after the game/match and overrule a call made by a ref. We have sports where there is instant replay but never has a sport been able to go back after its in the record books and over rule a ref. Imagine if someone went back and was like in game 7 of the 2010 NBA finals there was a bad call and there shouldn’t have been a foul, we need to overturn the outcome and 2010 NBA champs are now a different team, or in tennis or in football. Once the game is over the result stands. The only time where you see a change is when someone get popped for drugs. There have been a lot of wrong calls over the years. You could overturn dozens of fights. That’s not how sports work or at least not that I can ever recall. I agree with chael 100 on this one.

If anyone can remember there was a mistake/miscommunication for Twood vs Wonderboy 1, the bout was scored as a majority draw, 1 judge had Twood winning, the others had the fight as a draw.
When Bruce announced the decision he ruled Twood as the winner, ''winner by split decision''. He then released his mistake as announced the majority draw.
I had a bet on Twood for this fight, just to win. Due to the mistake the bookies refunded my bet (instantly), had Bruce buffer made the correct announcement I obviously would have lost my bet.
My point here is that decisions/results get changed/overturned all the time, be it for PED's or illegal strikes, if this fight was overturned, even 10+ years later I would have no problem with it, the correct decision in this fight was a JJ W.

The fight should have been stopped well before he threw the 6-12 elbows. Matt was mounted and taking heavy damage and couldn’t defend himself. Jon stopped and pleaded with the ref to stop the fight, but Steve’s pathetic ass told him to keep going. After a while more he threw a 6-12 and Steve stopped the fight, asked Matt (A DEAF MAN) if he could continue, and then called it. Jon Jones isn’t undefeated because Steve Mazzigatti is a fucking terrible ref.
