Dave, you really are a wizard at evoking an aching nostalgia. I just adore your ‘ glassine’ and your technique is so simple and inexpensive. I love how robust it is and it also looks like tanned skin... when you mentioned that it can be sewn, I suddenly remembered “ Buffalo Bill “ from “ The Silence of the Lambs “ !
I sometimes surprise myself with what’s in my range, I am glad you like the ‘glassine’ technique. The skin and Buffalo Bill association gave me a bit of a chill to be honest! 😂🤗
This is so inventive. I love this and will definitely give it a go. Thinking maybe some faux aged photo corners may be possible. Thank you for making this video Dave xx
I absolutely LOVE THIS! I went shopping yesterday, and found 2 oven sheets on sale, so I've been making your faux glassine all morning! It's wicked hot here in America, so I set one out in the sun and by the time I finish a second sheet, the first is dry! Perfect! Thank you! I can't wait to play with them!
Oh wow! I’d love to have been born in a warmer climate, I love the sun and glad you are having a go at making it. Let me know what you make with it, I really would love to see! Thanks again for such a delightful message 🤗😊
Yes I really must learn the overseas rearms for these things. Sellotape is a brand here, the generic / off brand ,stuff is called sticky tape. Scotch never really found it’s place here other than in the 80s when Scotch Tape would have referred to blank video cassettes! 🤗
I try to mix it so it resembles the consistency of single cream, you need the water content to help with th transparency and also to reduce the ‘stickiness’ but it still needs to be thicker than water. So I would say single cream or there abouts. Hope that helps? Sending my greetings from a cold and very wet Yorkshire, UK 🤗😍😘
Hi Dave, just discovered you on IG! Love this technique, especially with the vintage Stains. Just subscribed and looking foreword to more of these yummy techniques! Thanks.
Oh wow, thank you so much, I’m so happy to hear you like my technique and I really hope I can continue to stimulate your creativity. I’ve got a few hundred videos on here now and there may be some others that peak your interest. If I can help you in any way please free to let me know. Have a lovely week 🤗😊

The ModPodge is initially tacky after it dries but after a few days it will dry out completely, depending on the atmospheric conditions, on damp days it takes longer 🤗🥰😘

Love this technique, and the aged cello tape ... Brilliant! (we call it Scotch Tape in 🇨🇦 but that's just the brand name)

Hi, love this, best technique I've seen so far. Could you help with the ratio of Modpodge to water, please. Thanks. Greetings from Sunny South Africa❤

Thank you, I’m glad people seem to like it! 😃🤗
Gosh Dave this is great! I love that it’s not a noxious odor too, but one question…..does the ModPodge get sticky as it does on decoupage?
The ModPodge is initially tacky after it dries but after a few days it will dry out completely, depending on the atmospheric conditions, on damp days it takes longer 🤗🥰😘
Doesn't it get sticky like mod podge usually does??
Nope, never had a problem with it being sticky, you do however have to leave it to thoroughly dry before you use it 😍😘🥰
