I use a veggi peeler or cheese grater for my white candle then sprinkle over the paper hold iron and it really does come out nice. The pva and water works well on plastic garbage bags leave over night

You need to get one of those glass tops big enough to work on large pieces. The glass will not absorb all of your precious wax. It melts and stays warm either the iron heat so the liquefied wax runs to the whole work.

Im wondering if the white part of the napkin has some sort of chemical(or ???) coating it and its repelling the wax. Maybe they use something to help keep the two layers together.
I know I'm really late to this video but I'm really enjoying it!!!

    Fiona,
What if you heated up your paper with the iron and then just rubbed on your wax without cutting it? That might give you a more even later of wax? I don't know just was wondering 🤷‍♀️☺️ love your channel. New subscriber 👍❤️. Thank you ❤

Take my word for it. That oil continues to transfer to other paper that it is in contact with. I used minimum oil, let it dry for two days and then placed the sheets between sheets of copy paper. I kept changing out the copy paper and it never stopped transferring oil. I was happy that I tested it thoroughly before using it in a journal and ruining pages. It’s been days and that oil continues to leave oil marks. Maybe in weeks, months or years it will finally stop but I’m not fooling with it for that length of time.

I use baby oil, I blot the paper until it doesn’t bead up when I touch it then let it sit over night. Double sided tape won’t stick to it but all of my wet glues stick and hold.

Could you rub wax over paper rather than grating? Would be more even.

You could do that, yes but I don't think it will be enough wax.
